Comic Book Shorts by iBubek is a concept that a few have tackled in LBP so far. Some have succeeded while others have not. In theory, your little sackperson plays a special part in a comic book, going from page to page. While some is action derived others are story based. Then there's what iBubek put together. Refreshing? Or Boring? Apparently it's boring....but do read on.

Graphically the level was simply average. Yes it's a comic book strip. Yes, it's designed to have a cartoonish feel and yes, it was short and all intended. It simply does not make sense but I believe the creator felt no need to dwell on the graphical presentation. However, with out stating the obvious, okay, I will state it: The graphics hurt its presentation. Plain and simple, it could have been done much better and does fall short of the other comic book strips out on LBP. But like we were all told in our early adolescent childhood, you don't judge a book by its cover.

Sounds and Music was cleverly done. From the moments you start to the moment of the unique finish. There were sounds for almost each part of the comic strip where sounds could be placed. However it still felt a tad bit absent (Yes, sounds a bit like an oxymoron). This was in large part of the substance in each portion of the comic. There wasn't much going on to have the sounds you would expect, especially when you expect the sound to be popping out of a comic strip. So unfortunately, the sounds were about as good as they could get in current form.

Gameplay is entirely absent in this one. You simply just go to each page of the comic book. The story being told was rather lacking in any sort of adventure and action to where it again leaves no substance for this area, much like the sounds and music.

Final Thoughts: This was an entertaining bit, all five minutes worth. Yes, its that short. But that's what makes this one a fun little level. Obviously that sounds like another oxymoron when I said apparently it was boring right? This one is one you must play to find out for yourself. It will have you shaking your head when its over, but it will almost certainly put a smile on your face and that I believe, is what this short comic strip is about.

I rate Comic Shorts Book 1: Super Sackboy Begins a :star::star::star: 1/2 stars

Thanks for reading the Review!!

Thanks for the review, my second comic book short isn't great either, they're old, and I'm better at creating now, so expect the third one to be longer, and with extremely enhanced visuals. I'm still surprised that this level managed to get past 300 plays though, and 27 hearts, being what it is. The only good looking thing was the car, and the house.

I'm currently working on making the level over, being a much more experienced creator now.
