Archive: 43 posts
Now, i'm in uni and dont have a job cause im too busy with work. And with my gf's bday coming up (18th) and i have nooooo money lol. Well, not much. And i wanna get her a ?230 pressie. SO.... Great ways of making money people?! I know selling is fantastic. I have a hacked psp and stuff which would hopefully go good on ebay, and im considering selling a few of my box sets. Depends on how much i get. Anyone know how much a PS2 (silver) goes for these days? I guess 30 odd. Thinking bout it theres alot of rubbish in my room at home which would sell well... Anywho ideas people... IDEAS!! | 2008-11-02 13:47:00 Author: ryryryan Posts: 3767 |

You should ref soccer games. I made almost $100 dollars under 4 hours Those were just competitive u-12 so if you did like u-16 you'd be making a lot of money | 2008-11-02 14:20:00 Author: Unknown User |

How about you just explain to her that you have no money because you're a poor college kid. :/ | 2008-11-02 23:48:00 Author: Code1337 Posts: 3476 |

How about you just explain to her that you have no money because you're a poor college kid. :/ oh she wouldn't mind. She wouldn't care if i got her a ?20 ring or whatever, she'd love it anyway. Which is why she deserves to have something real nice for her 18th. Anywho i think if i sell my PSP i should have enough when i went through my bank account lol. But it's a hard choice... I love my PSP but lets face it... theres no good games coming out for it (bar LBP if that ever happens) | 2008-11-03 01:20:00 Author: ryryryan Posts: 3767 |
If you're having trouble getting the money, don't worry. She should like what you get her regardless. If not, I hate to say, she's not worth your time. It should the thought that counts right? | 2008-11-03 03:14:00 Author: Dropbear Posts: 272 |

Important question-how long have you been going out for? | 2008-11-03 03:23:00 Author: Dropbear Posts: 272 |

Hey, give the man a break. I'm with ryryryan on this one. If she's the kind of girl that wouold be happy with a teeny tiny present normally, then she is exactly the kind of girl who should occasionally get spoiled. One of my best friends is the opposite, always expects massive presents and gets loads spent on her. I find it irritating that I can't afford to spend quite the same ammount on my girlfriend every year, but she's really appreciative of anything you get her. That's why I'm currently saving like crazy to try and get her a trip to New York for her 25th next year. Still, Ryry, I agree with dropbear, how long have you been together? If it's a decent amount of time, then I'd say, if you're serious about it, you could sell the PSP, maybe a couple of PS3 games, should help you make the money. Either that or let the 'rents loan you some money if they can. Obviously, if you've only been together 2 months, forget it. It's not the kind of precedent you want to be setting, buying gifts you don't have enough money for on the first gift buying occasion. Important hint, I'm sure you know this but I have to say it (reason why afterwards) make sure if she's a gold girl, you get her a gold necklace, and the same for silver or white gold. Additionally, if she normally wears toned down jewellery, don't get her something huge and proverbially in your face. The reason I say this is a friend of mine was proposed to the other week. She's a white gold girl through and through, but he proposed with a yellow gold ring, because that's what he thought you were supposed to do, and then was a little upset when she wanted to swap it for one that would match everything else of her jewellery. (She did say yes though!) Hope this helped! | 2008-11-03 07:43:00 Author: flakmagnet Posts: 1084 |
lol, i said why not in the first sentence EDIT: A necklace. Oops never noticed that bit. In that case I suggest getting a job! Theres no such thing as a hard working student with no time on his hands. | 2008-11-03 10:10:00 Author: LittleBigChav Posts: 175 |
Important question-how long have you been going out for? going towards 2 years. Well, if you really feel that way, then I think you should sell your psp, seeing as you have no time for a job. I think i will tbh. i mean... PSPs are great and stuff but since i dont play it, even when i dont have access to my PS3... it's pointless. With no good games in the future (imo) i should sell it. Plus i messed up valentines day and our '1 year' big time so i wanna make it up to her. And i think if i sell a few PS3 games as well then i'll have just enough to by myself LBP too Oops never noticed that bit. In that case I suggest getting a job! Theres no such thing as a hard working student with no time on his hands. hahaha yeah, i just don't want a job in uni atm. I'm not struggling for money by any means, but raising 230 is quite the extra bump! lol. | 2008-11-03 10:39:00 Author: ryryryan Posts: 3767 |
Very nice. I'm sure she'll love it. And yeah, based on the fact that you've been together that long, go for it. You can always buy back the PSP later on if anything good does turn up. (I'm on my third! Everytime I buy one I get bored of the lack of games, so I sell it, then a game I want comes out, I buy one again, and end up trading it in later!) | 2008-11-03 11:08:00 Author: flakmagnet Posts: 1084 |
As flakmagnet said, go for it. Youve been together 2 years and I'm sure the ?230 will be worth it. | 2008-11-03 12:05:00 Author: floor3013 Posts: 287 |

Anywho i'd get one again if LBP came out on it, but that wouldn't be for a long time yet EDIT: She also said that she doesn't mind if her bday prezzie is also an xmas prezzie... despite being 20 odd days apart. makes things easier for me EDIT2: My GF just bought me LBP off play!! LOL! I hope it comes by friday for when im home!! I was talking bout her prezzie... then was like 'I'm putting it before LBP ' then she was like 'oh yeah... is this it? *sends link of LBP on play*' and i'm like yeah. Then she goes, 'okay, i've ordered it for you '. !!! Best. Girl. Ever! Lol. She definatly deserves this necklace and more now | 2008-11-03 13:04:00 Author: ryryryan Posts: 3767 |

Reminds me of a friend who "borrowed" his girlfriend's 21st birthday money she was given by her parents, and bought himself a PS2 with it (back when they were new) and never paid her back.
