Storm the LittleBigHouse

Archive: 15 posts

EDIT: Advice wanted, for questions looks at 10th post.

If you have played the online series, Storm the House, you may have recognised the title.

Those that don't recognise it, I will briefly explain.

Storm the House is a game in which you control a house and you gain money from killing people that are trying to invade. Over time, the enemies get stronger and between each stage, you get a menu and you can choose upgrades.

This is going to take a bit of thinking, and planning in the game, seeing what I can do... The money will probably be bubbles. This is like a minigame.

I am planning to make this 4 player. Any ideas, comments, constructive critism etc. are welcome

Much thanks,

Will.

Edit: I have just seen the thread with a similar idea, but this one you are defending...

I don't think it is possible to do it with bubbles but maybe you can do it with trigger switches that the enemies drop2008-11-02 14:22:00

Hmmmmmm, yes thanks, is there like an "if" mechanism?

I think I could make it so when an enemy dies it drops a ball of sponge "or whatever" onto a button in a hidden section. Then when you but something, emitters make it dissapear so then you can't afford anything past an ammount. Then there can be buttons for upgrades but you need a specific ammount of buttons pushed down...

Wow, I'm really excited about this idea... :hero:

Lolz.

Sounds cool. I'm sure with a little thought you could think of a way to have the enemies spawn bubbles to fall onto wherever your sackboy may be standing.

EDIT: I just played the game to get a feel for it myself. It's actually more commonly known as "Defend your castle". I could definetly see a fun LBP level out of this but you'll need to think about it hard for it to be able to work. Good luck to ye. ;P

Thanks for your support, when I recieve the game either tommorow or Wednesday, (Yikes, I have been waiting for 21 months, I am excited as... I'm not sure...) I will do most/all of the story levels before experimenting widely with the creation tools...

Wow I am excited.

Much thanks,

Will.

So you shoot a key switch on an explosive at an enemy that has the key receptor on him, and in turn when they hit, it blows your enemy up, but it also activates an emitter for a split second, and that emmiter drops a coin into an open box connected to the ground on springs. When enough coins are in the box the box will compress far enough to have the key on it activate a key receptor that is connected to an emitter that will destroy your old weapon, and replace it with a more powerful one. So there ya go.2008-11-03 22:02:00

Blimey. Thanks for that, erm, that souns a bit complicated.

I've never been too good at technology but I am hoping LittleBigPlanet will improve that. I have so many ideas yet I can't work it out.

Anyways, I'm babbling again.

Any other comments?

Much thanks,

Will.

Hmmm, yes someone.

I will probably start making this when they introduce online create mode because with 4 people's expertise it would be easier and funner.

Thanks,

Will.

is it possible to spawn enemies at random, like every 30 sec, and what you should do is have 4 or 5 different spawn point for the different type of enemies with different time setting2008-11-04 20:00:00

If you can somehow make an emitter shoot enemies then i guess you could do that ( but i dont know about the whole menu thing)2008-11-15 17:41:00

To make an emitter "spit" out enemies merely construct your AI. Once assemble save your creation with the Creation capture tool, from there select an emitter, place it down, afterward from the emitter spawn bubble, find your creature and select the area you desire to spawn your creation.2008-11-15 18:10:00
