Corrupt file - Help!!

Archive: 3 posts

This is a question from my buddy:
His PS3 went through power outage, and LBP file is now marked, "corrupt." Every time he plays LBP, he has to start LBP from the beginning as no data is saved (even after manually backing up file in game). He tried to delete the corrupt file, but it won't let him and gives him an error message, "Corrupt file: 8001002A." I went through PS3 site (including the online manual they have), Sony's LBP site and a few other sites looking for solutions, and I have not found any so far. Can someone here please help?
Thank you for any ideas you can give us.
p.s. Formatting the hard disk and/or file restore options are out of question for him, as he has no way of backing up his files.

To be honest, I think that formatting and file restore are the only options...
I feel sorry for your friend, but I really don't know any other options.

@iArekusu. Thanks. That is what I am hearing from most of people.
I sort of came up with an idea: He needs to create another user account on PS3, but when logging into PSNetwork, use the original user name and password. Trophy information is stored on the network, I think, so he should have all the levels and things already saved. I think when there are different users on PS3, it is using other save date file, so the new user isn't using corrupt file. Is this true? Well, I hope so. Unless someone else could come up with a better idea, I think I will suggest this to him. Thanks for your input.
