I feel great artwork can be valuable for a number of reasons. The skill of the painter sometimes but I feel the way the art makes us feel is what moves us the most.

To me, it's either art that's uniqe(a style that you've never seen before, for example), that makes you think, that's funny, or that tells a story all on it's own, and that the artist really put a bit themself into, that should be valued the most. One thing people should always remember, is that art doesn't have to be very realistic or accurate to be valuable or appreciated. As long as the artist tries their best to be original(i.e not mimic somebody else's style, or copy from a photo), to me, that counts for something.

Something new, or something people have never really seen before. Pictures that make people wonder, " What the heck was he thinking?" Drawings that don't just cause people to say"Ohh, thats nice" and walk along.
