Another World in Another TimePirmaut
Today I want to introduce another of my level.
This level together with the other two that I presented, was for a long time with the others on my moon waiting to be completed.
I finally got rid of the last work commitments and was able to complete all three.
This level is based on a glorious game came out in 1991 for Amiga and other console.
The oldest of you surely will remember....
Even at this level, I tried to change a little bit the story than the original but maintaining the same feling.
In fact the title of the original game is called just "Another World" while this is indeed set in "another time"

You wake up on your ship after 500 years of sleep, but you realize that your destination is still far.
the onboard computer will inform you of a small electrical problem but then all you will end up on an unknown planet.
Since then begin your long adventure....
You will find desolate landscapes in 3D, many monsters to kill and many cinematic scenes very funny.

A faithful tribute to a great game. I love the jagged deserted landscape at the beginning, excellent use of 3D glitch there and fun gameplay, this mid level boss has some issues though, first of all I had no way to indicate if I was doing any damage but I sort of assumed that maybe you have to hit the overhanging box while it glows yellow as it emits an enemy? Anyway I felt like I was trapped in that encounter for way too long and was about to give up when it dies suddenly, also it graphically lagged throughout the boss fight especially when an enemy was emitted so if I am supposed to hit it when it glows that made it a lot harder and more frustrating. 3/5 with the mid level boss as it is but I still enjoyed the rest especially the more cinematic moments.2010-11-18 23:33:00

I had a lot of trouble getting out of the space ship. I guess the elevator wasn't catching me? If you can get to the text bubble you're fine, but I almost gave up this early. Instead I had to give up after the boss. For some reason, I couldn't go anywhere after I killed him, the path to the right didn't open or anything. Anyway, great use of a classic game as an inspiration, I see where you took some creative liberties though. It's actually way creepier than the original. Loved the use of beasts, especially the essential scene by the pool at the beginning. I thought the scene with the spawning critters went a little long though. Anyway, I don't know if it broke or why I couldn't finish it, but this level is pushing the LBP1 to the max. I really liked the use of global settings and everything looked and sounded really great. Excellent work!2011-03-28 06:11:00
