Lost Ruins of Panatratripple_sss
http://photobucket.com/tripple_sssYou are lost somewhere in a timeless ruin, Panatra's ruins that is. Your only chance of getting out is to explore and make your way through various caverns filled with obstacles and some danger. You control the limitations to your success. Will you succeed?

Hi Triple_SSS! Nice level you have there. Nice fun platforming with a few tricky parts. I liked the special effects like the the stalagtites falling when crossing the bridge. I will suggest decorating the wall with the R1 launch pads some more. They looked a little bare as they are now. Very good; 5 stars and a <3!2010-11-16 15:02:00

Hey thanx L1GhTmArE for your input. I will add the R1 launch pads as you recommended, but my question is where specifically.

I'm looking forward to trying your levels when I get off work today. Also did you do your own avatar and signature? Very cool and original

+ Good twist on the "dont get squished by the block" part with the 3 curve at the corners.
- I would move the gas block a little higher after the second red sponge lift. I died via gas the first time I got up there.
Gosh darn barrel cannons. I must be the only one who hates these things, ha.
- I also agree with L1GhTmArE about decorating the right side wall.
- After the cannons, the last sponge has no bolt, and is harder to rotate. Not sure if that was intentional.
- Why does camera zoom in after the bridge? Oh. I see. You should attach that camera zone onto the elevator.

Solid level. I would add more score bubbles to create fun combo opportunities.

Really appreciate your input midnight.
I didn't realize about the gas problem after the 2nd sponge lift. I'll have that fixed.
Unfortunately my thermo is maxed so i'm not gonna be able to add any more decorations on the wall both you and L1GhTmArE recommended.8(
The last sponge is meant to rotate automatically when grabbed to get to the top where there are score bubbles.
I'll fix the camera problem as well.

More importantly, I really appreciate your help in my vehicle respawn question you answered. That saved a lot of headache for me.
I would love to try your levels but you've posted "recommended levels" . Are they yours or one's you recommend from other creators?
Again thanx.

You should attempt some corner editing on that wall instead, perhaps you could streamline the thermo in other places? (take out unnecessary corners elsewhere)

And no problem. I don't require anymore feedback on my levels, so I changed my sig to advertise other creator's levels.
They come highly recommended by me, but you can still check out my levels by clicking the link under my avatar if you really want.

Feedback

Positives:
+Design of the level looked pretty good
+Platforming was really good also
+Gameplay was okay throughout the level

Negatives:
-The ball got stuck on the 1st puzzle to the left of the level but restarted it and it worked the second time so no big deal on this negative.(minor)

Sugguestions:
-The area in the beginning where you have an X on the jump pad. I think you should maybe make or add something to indicate to jump on it because, when I played I ran on top of it pressing R1 then ran to the bridge but couldnt get pass so then I ran back to the jump pad and kept press R1 to see if it'll work but nothing happened. Then I accidently jumped on top of it and it bounced me up so I dont know maybe its just me and my opinion but if nobody else had a problem then dont worry.

Overall the level was very good::star::star::star::star:
Keep up the good work

Superb level, I really wish I could have finished it The mine cart kept breaking on me (left wheel would break after jump). The little ball that got stuck when Sabre played it happened to me. It was the 2nd one (moving from left to right) where I was unable to pull it down, but it worked fine after I restarted the level.

I would lower the gas on the first platforming section where you jump three times and you can get squished. I was sliding on it on a few occasions and died with out even falling because the gas got me.. There was also a piston showing on the cart that takes you up diagonally, not sure if that was intended, but I would remove it. Camera work is a bit shaky at times.

Your art style is fantastic through the level, truly top notch and inspirational. There are parts that MH and Sabre both mentioned and I believe Lightmare did as well, but where you are in the cannons shooting up the wall, it is bare is sheer comparison to the level. Perhaps some cutouts of the back wall shining through?

Glad you mentioned about the ball in the beginning. I'll have to adjust the tension of the spring and get that fixed.
As for the jump pad with the X, I guess I should have had something to indicate having to jump on it. I'll have that corrected as well.
I will try out your newest level and offer any valuable feedback. I know how important it is to improve as a creator from constructive criticism.
Again Thanx and look for my comments

Sorry you didn't finish because of the mine cart breaking. If you respawn from after the cart breaking, then a new cart will be at the same spot you started. Follow the instructions of holding onto the left yellow grab sponge on the cart and it shouldn't break during the ride down again, hopefully.

I look forward to trying out your level as well and will offer my feedback too. Thanx for your time and valuable feedback as well.

Hey tripple_sss! Played your level a few days ago, it was pretty good! I liked the puzzle with the ball dropping, quite creative, but it got stuck on me as well. I think when playing with multiple players and you pull down two of the barriers at the same time, something with the friction of them keeps one from returning fully. Not a killer though. I'm guessing a lot of the thermo was killed at the walls with the triangular checker design, perhaps making it theck could decrease loads of gratuitous corner usage without really killing the total effect. The barrel cannons were very cool, but when you have more than one player, some problems can arise. Also at the spinning sponge thing immediately after, I think one of the bolts was visible and a little tighter. The bridges that dropped and rose were awesome! They looked great, matched the feel, and had a cool effect entering. I thought when you jumped off of the triangular floating platforms, they looked a little plain compared to some of the other parts, if there is some possibility of adding more decorations to those, it would add, especially because all you see is blank background, and red gas. Overall, I really enjoyed it! I thought it had some good creative elements involved and I loved playing it! :star::star::star::star::star: Thanks by the way for all the input you've given me on my levels. 2010-11-20 03:22:00

Hi Jayhawk_er,

Really appreciate your input and having to have met you in little big planet. I agree about the bland scenery at the end of the triangular platform. I guess I was bypassing it thinking I would get back to it and take care of that but I was reaching the 160 hour glitch and didn't think too much of it. I'll see if I can add some detail to that area. I'd like to have you help in my next level when the time comes. I'll hit you up the next time your online playing. Again thanx my friend

Unfortutely, I had my level moderated after receiving and earning plenty of hearts and plays. It's very frustrating not knowing what was moderated. I had to break down bits and pieces of my level to figure this out. Which I had to spend nearly two and half hours doing. I have written a letter to MM expressing my anger and frustration. I hope no one has to go through what I went through considering how much time and effort I had put into my level. I still can't figure specifically what was being moderated since everything i've used are either bought or made on my own.
If anyone reading this has went through what I went through, then I suggest you do the same and write to MM.

The level looked really good. nice use of materials and some good puzzle elements. I would add some extra sounds to the two bridges that connect. It looked great, but i think that the sounds did'nt do it justice. I agree with the others on parts looking a little bland, but i think you could free up some thermo somewhere to help decorate some more. overall a really good level. 5 stars from me2010-12-15 18:01:00

Good work, this is really a cool level. Very well made scenery, good use of materials, creative obstacles and puzzles. I liked the bridge that forms each part at a time. This is one of the best levels I have seen.

A fantastic level that I found to be well refreshing and very fun at the same time. The looks and gameplay elements were nice; the part with the slanted pillars you had to pull down one by one to help move cylinder across was fresh, the way the bridge assembled itself was great and I don't know about others but I loves the barrel cannons, they remind me of Donkey Kong Country games! Also theres one part where the walls/platforms move up and down and within them to spiked walls move left and right, I have never seen that style before besides in my own level "Resident Raytech" so well done on that. I really enjoyed it and got my heart and 5'ed it!2010-12-19 23:34:00

Really amazing level. Loved the design and details. Very good obstacles too with just the right amount of challenge and fun.
Not much to really critique. lol Could have used maybe a bit of story, like why are you at the ruins? Searching for treasure or what?

Hey, I played your level last night, and WOW! One of the best levels I've played in a long time! I loved the attention to detail throughout the level (like those LED light fairies at the beginning and on the first bridge, how do they move like that? I sat there watching them for a whole minute when I started the level!) Everything is well decorated and absolutely gorgeous! The gameplay was very creative too - that spring puzzle at the beginning was totally new to me, the bit with the spikes moving back and forth was an idea I've only seen on one other level (Resident Raytech), and that zigzagging crusher section was awesome! The gameplay all around was refreshing, fast-paced, and very fun. There was never an instance where I didn't know where to go next or was frustrated by a creator decision, so kudos to that.

I guess now would be a time to say the negatives, but there really aren't any. I suppose I could list some nitpicks...

- The diagonal lift section could use a sound speaker, I think. Either a rolling rock, steam engine or twinkle sound effect that plays while Sackboy is on the lift would make it a bit more immersive in my opinion.

- Compared to the high aesthetic standards of the rest of the level, the barrel section looked relatively drab. This may be a byproduct of pulling the camera back so far at that point, since it's harder to decorate big areas. If you could spare some thermo space to make some decorative pillars or something else to break up the stone background material, it would look much better, I think.

- Out of the five times I did the minecart section, the right wheel broke twice on the first jump, forcing me to retry. The first time was my fault (I was pushing the minecart back and forth with the sponge handles), but the second time it seemed to do it on its own. It's not a big deal since you can easily retry and get a new minecart, but you might want to check out that first jump, as it seems to be the only problematic section of the whole cart ride to me. Well done on the cart ride, by the way, it was intense!

Splendid level! One of my favorites in LBP! :star::star::star::star::star: + <3 + creator <3

Thanks Mr_Orange for your input as I know creators as yourself's is of utmost value to helping me improve.

@LFiers I'm glad you enjoyed my level as I know your levels far surpasses mine. Being said that, your opinion means that much more to me. Thanks for that and I will give you the feedback on your level Resident Raytech

@ ludicium_86 I really didn't plan on a story other than what was given in the intro of the level prior to the gameplay. I will consider that on my next level. Thanks for the feedback ludicium_86

@ Sporkchops Thx for your input Sporkchops. I've tried different ways of making the cart from breaking but they've all came out with the same result: 1 out of every 5 tries, they would break. I can't seem to make it unbreakable with all attempts. Go figure.

@H-O-S-M-A-R, Glad you enjoyed this level. I'm currently working on another level and plan on having it published before LBP2 comes out. I will check out your levels

Wow, what an awesome level. I've just tried it, and I found it very original, funny and with cool visuals.
The gameplay was various during all the level, making it funny from the beginning to the end. Great use of the cave, too: like in the beginning, when you have to walk from right to left some times, unlocking every time new things.
The level looks curated in each particular, from the switches to the visuals, great job.
The last part was really funny, it breaks that serious cave atmosphere.
Great level, you made an awesome job.

I'd like if you tried my level for F4F: "The Long Night of Mr. Krom" or "Mm Squad's Christmas mission: Protect the Pack!" by xDante95x. You can find the thread clicking on "My Creations" under my nickname. Just choose one of them and play it, then give me a little feedback

I loved the different puzzles and traps. The cannons reminded me of Donkey Kong Country.
I also liked your use of the different layers.

I had to redo the mine cart once. It flipped onto its back and didn't seem to have the inertia to make the jump at the end.
On the second try it worked flawlessly though.

I forget the rating that I gave it, but I'm sure it was good.
