tool Fixed yet?

have they fixed that problem where if you make a object to complicated it wont let you add more to it , but also it wont let you take away material from it, thats sooooooooooo anoying!!!!!!!2010-11-15 16:08:00

the reason you cant take away from it is because you may add more corners than you take it away. But you should still be able to corner edit.2010-11-15 17:40:00

I believe the object complexity mini-thermo is still there (although I think you can have many more vertices per piece of material than you could in LBP1). Not something I've tested out in the beta though, tbh ... 2010-11-15 18:15:00

There has to be a limit.

Some of the algorithms used for things like collision detection, physics calculations and editing the objects do not scale well with the number of vertices. So if you allow infinitely many vertices the time to run the algorithms grows like O(n^2) or even O(n^3). This means that for double the number of vertices, you could be quadroupling (or octroupling) the time it takes to run each algorithm that gets run many times each frame. At a certain n (number of vertices), it makes sense to put a limit so that the framerate doesn't drop.

no, this hasnt been changed, although it hasnt come up yet in any actual objects ive made, i have gotten the message pop up whe i copy object and they overlap before i place it2010-11-15 22:33:00

Still there for sure... I've had it creep up on me several times now. The amount of vertices etc. doesn't seem any bigger to me either. You just have to be more cautious and smarter about your builds like in the first game.2010-11-18 02:47:00

It is still there but I think If you make a huge, clean cut in such a way that will either leave A) Less vertices or B) Split it into 2 separate objects, that it will work.2010-11-18 04:26:00
