The Yum Food FactoryRossMurphy91
1-4 Player Minigame

:starescription::star:

You (and your friends) have been caught tryin to steal from the Yum Food Factory. As punishment for your crime the owner has activated the conveyer belt and placed the feed into overload mode!

:star:Objective::star:

You must stay on the conveyer belt, collecting points bubbles as they fall down at a gradually increasing rate, and avoid gettin' caught under a pile of food from the factory feed. If you get caught you'll get dragged down the conveyer belt and packed into a crate full of delicious food. Unfortunately you won't survive! Try to get the highest score possible on this great minigame full of laughs!

:staresign::star: (Only read this if you're interested in the different concepts used in the level)

The level all-in-all took me and my two friends (Tydus48 and Unsaferbullet) around 7 hours to make. The initial plan for the level was a cider factory that consisted of apples and cider bottles being thrown onto the conveyer belt. After this initial design we realised that there was alot more potential for a more strategic pile-up by using general foods. The inital food to be dropped is apples, which are slightly smaller than the sackboy and provide very little challenge to overcome. The next food to be dropped is the orange, which is about twice the size of the apple, providing a much greater object to jump over. The third food was an excellent choice, which was the sushi. Being rectangle shaped it meant the sushi either served as a platform which can be jumped on or a vertically standing wall which proved to be a problem for the sackboys. Then there are cherries which are small and come out in large numbers, which allow things to roll over the top of them and provide a difficult surface to try and jump from, as sackboys tend to slip on the cherries. The next object is the chicken drumstick which similar to the sushi provides a platform or a wall, however in a slightly more complex shape. And finally, the chilli. Coated in a burning material, these objects are the final objects and are designed to try and wipe out the sackboys pretty quickly, especially if you get caught under one or trapped in a pile next to one.

Anyway let me know what you think! Check out my other levels here:

Didn't you already post a thread exactly like this? I'm pretty sure I even left feedback on it...2010-11-15 01:24:00

Yeah lol its just when i changed the theme of the level i had to change the title of the level and it wouldn't change the title of the thread. Unless I'm just unaware of a way to do so. Anyway, what did you think of it? Improvement?2010-11-15 08:26:00

Hey there rossmurphy, thanks for playing my level. I'm here to do your f4f. I really like the concept of this level. I'm surprised nobody has thought of a level like this before. It's really cool in my opinion. I have a few minor gripes with the level, however. I did find the background to be a little bit bland with just a cross and 2 cogs. I wish it looked more like an actual factory instead of something that just looks created from a blank level. I mean, not only that but you can see the bottom of the level with the way the camera is facing.

Other than that, I thought this was a superb level. Definitely a multiplayer based level and I'll come back and play this with my friends.

Great job! 4/5 stars & hearted.

Very fun level. Although the music got kind of annoying. But it was a fun minigame still. I thought there would be more cherries at beginning but no biggie. I liked the progression of difficult. Overall :star::star::star::star: and <3. Very creatively done!!2010-11-19 22:41:00

I've played both of your levels and have to say that they're really good. Normally I don't like survival games as they are always the same and boring. But yours are very clever and really funny. You want to play again and again to beat the highscore.

The Yum Food Factory is nearly perfect. Maybe it would be more exciting if you wouldn't run only on one conveyor For example a door which leads to a second conveyor when you master the first one. Anyway, 4 stars from my side and a heart. PS: I made the 2nd place

The Target Zone is very funny, too. I played it 10 times or something like that but I only could make the 5th place. The only problem with this level is (in my opinion), that the difficulty is increasing much too fast. At the beginning, before the deadly boxes appear, it's very easy for a minute or two. You can make nearly 2.000 points in this time. And then, when the deadly boxes begin to appear, the difficulty is directly very hard and you die very quickly (nobody even reached 4.000 points until now).

You should change that in a way that the difficulty increases slowlier. As in the food factory where it is a linear increase of difficulty. That would make the level much funnier and less frustrating when you don't always die after ~3 minutes.

Anyway, it's a very good survival level, too. 4 Stars and a heart as well I hope you improve the difficulty increase.

Hi I'm replying to your F4F. Please play my level in the signature.

The Yum Factory Factory was a truly enjoyable level. You Start by thinking."Wow this is boring!" but then then... "WAIT!...NOOOOO NOT THE ORANGES!!!!!!!" Soon after, your finding it more and more difficult to avoid the hands of death and if the hands of death don't get you the inferno of 'Chili Peppers' will! My suggestions for improvement are only that it might improve the initial entry of the level if you design a custom character for the beginning other than using a skicker. It's a wonderful mini game that I recommended to anyone. :star::star::star::star::star:<3.
