Disappearing levels? [FIXED]

Has the moderation become stricter since that last server update? I ask because my first two pods were moderated for no reason at all, then a friends (innocent) level was moderated. Most recently my level with 4000 plays was modded today. I'm a bit annoyed to say the least.
Anyone else have similar experiences?



UPDATE!!!!

Bug is fixed. Levels and costumes and things have just reappeared. Plays, hearts, and all are still there. ^^		2010-11-14 22:04:00

Ok, I get on LBP today and go to a friends profile and his Elite Stage 2, 3, 4, and 5 are all gone, and not only that it says he has 16/20 levels pubbed and I checked my hearted and his for Elite Stage 5 and it wasn't in hearted anymore.

Now I know he wouldn't deloete or move those levels to another profile after people have beaten them since they are some of the hardest extreme levels in LBP, so I went and checked his 4th profile hearted and Elite Stage 4 was there, I selected the level and chose 'view more by author', upon doing so it took back to his main profile where the 4 elite stages were missing and now Elite Stage 4 is back in his profile but it still says 16/20 pubbed, lol.

On top of this while I was at his 4th profile a lot of levels were missing from there also including his literally named 'my hardest level'.

So some glitch is going on where levels seem to completely disappear (not referring to the friends playing a level that wont show while they're playing glitch), and then if you find the level in a hearted list not of the author it reappears in profile but level count still doesnt revert back.

I'm sure this isn't new. Is anyone else experiencing this? If so what is this glitch and is there a fix? I need to ask some friends if the levels show for them.

Ok, I've noticed A TON OF LEVELS are missing. I've checked countless friends profiles and they are completely gone, while some profiles have no levels missing.

On top of that I discovered that, take xSURAx profile for example, her red, blue, and green level icons are shaped like pyramid. Blue on top of triangle, red on right, and green on left. And below the triangle like diamond shape is a level not related to her colored ones. I went and checked and now her blue and red are only ones there, and even weirder blue appears bottom right and red top left, complete opposite usual.		2010-11-14 23:36:00

Sorry for double post, but considering this is very important I had to update in seperate post.

I have confirmed through every single person I have asked to check that there are disappearing levels in LBP. They are noticing the exact same missing levels I am. Not every profile has missing levels.

I encourage everyone to please check many profiles you are familiar with to see if any levels are suddenly gone, even the level count ??/20 will reflect the missing levels.

Also, the levels arent really gone because if I find it on someone else's hearted list and view more by author it returns to the profile, though level count doesn't return.		2010-11-15 00:32:00

Please encourage your friends to check these things also.

This has to be a serious bug, or LBP servers were hacked. I just couldn't imagine MM doing this.

Worse case scenario is that if it is a bug or hack that none of the deleted stuff can be returned, meaning a large portion of LBP is completely wiped.

I know it can't be MM because a lot os the levels disappearing have literally nothing that could possibly break rules/copyright.		2010-11-15 01:46:00

Haven't noticed any of my stuff in trouble yet, but this sounds kind of scary. I'd say thanks for the heads up, but now I just want to shut off my PS3 and wait for an all-clear from MM.

Maybe we can start a small poll to see if there's any consistent circumstances for those affected.

Questions for anyone coming to this thread:
Are you having any of these issues? If so, then what?
What kind of PS3 are you using?
Do you have any legitimately mod-worthy levels / costumes?
Are you in the beta?

It doesn't matter whether you're in beta or not, and it doesn't matter what PS3 version, and a lot of things disappearing have absolutely nothing that violates rules or copyright protectin issue, etc. Like you I have same PS3 80G and I am not in beta. None of that matters.

UPDATE: It is official that this is a legitimate problem. Every single person I have asked has been noticing it too. Some have even quit LBP over it, which is rather silly considering its best to wait for a response from MM. A friend of mine actually broke his LBP disc, which again is irrational without hearing from MM first.

I will admit personally that if none of the deleted stuff can be returned after fix that I would probably quit LBP until LBP2 as that would be the worse case scenario.

look, i haven't seen anything on my profile, but it seems that some of my costumes have the little red marking with the exclamation point, although I can use them, and one is exactly the same as another but with a one sticker difference, and the sticker is one I took, and I don't see how it could need that marking, I will check in the morning if something is wrong though.

No you are not the only one everyone of my levels have been deleted for moderation

only a couple hours before it was all fine

not only my levels been moderated and deleted!, the costumes and items I used have been moderated too.

so all 13 of my music levels vanished and never to come back again

glad to know I'm not the only one but I'm extremely angry and disturbed by this major game killing bug or glitch or whatever this

this could be potentially because of the beta, maybe I'm just saying it could

anyways this needs to be fixed ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, my levels on my secondary profiles are all gone too

i've also lost some pods too

i will spread this to everyone on my friends list tomorrow

till then don't worry I'm sure i'll be fixed but the damage is already done

I just checked both of my profiles, and found a single level moderated. Luckily it was backed up on my moon, but I couldn't find a way to republish it (even after porting it to my other account).

Here are a few things about the level which set it apart from the others on my moon:
1) I didn't own all the DLC in the level. A friend had used some stickers from the Marvel kit when helping with the level, and I didn't want to ruin their handiwork (made editing a bit of a pain, I tell you ).
2) I didn't create the level all on my own. In fact the latest version had been copied directly from my friend's planet. I mention this mainly as apparently they haven't had their level moderated, while I have.
3) The level had no description (wasn't quite done yet )

I'm not sure if any of these are related, but I seem to remember MM saying something about cracking down on people using DLC they didn't legally own, and perhaps the other two could be involved in some sort of spam filter to prevent levels being copypasta'd all over the servers, or an influx of Unnamed levels.

Also none of the 3 things you mention matter because a lot of the things being deleted have no DLC being used, and level description length would not matter as that would be extremely silly and unlikely for MM to suddenly say levels description has to be so and so length, otherwise they would have let the community know ahead of time. Not every profile has missing levels, much like how not every profile has missing community items, uploaded photos, levels in level queue, pods, costumes, etc. All of it is being effected, but not in everyone's profile, but most do have missing/modded things or thing.		2010-11-15 05:49:00

OK I found a way to get your moderated level back!!

I was frustrated that I couldn't remove the moderation even when I went to import a backup.

My Fix: Basically I ended up cutting my level into sections, capturing them and pasting them into a new empty level on my moon.

TA-DA! No more pesky moderation message. I only tried it with one level but it worked.		2010-11-15 09:56:00

I mean you said you can't import backup, and the level is no longer in profile due to being moderated. So where are you getting the level from to fix? Are you referring to those that have the level on moon still?

My levels have not been effected, only some costumes, but I am still curious as to where level is from to fix? Also, even then, all scores, photos, and everything else are still gone and level has to be pubbed like new.		2010-11-15 10:05:00

The levels were still on my moon, but un-publishable and un-playable. If I imported the backup into a new spot that was also moderated.

Yeah this happened to me and about half of the people on my friends list too.
Ive lost about 6 or 7 levels, and they all seem to be my best ones! lol

Was pretty strange. I didnt get a moderation message, well I didnt see one Im not acyually sure what one looks like Ive never had a level moderated before.

Oh yeah and some costumes and stickers have been moderated too.

So yeah good luck fixing this one guys.
You think you can get them back? I wouldnt have thought so, theyre just in hiding then not disappeared then.

At a guess I'd say yes. When moderated, the levels are still on the servers, they are just hidden from view. Once the issue is fixed they should be returned to public view, along with all the associated stats.		2010-11-15 16:08:00

I'm more worried about the things other than levels.

I have costumes that are very detailed and use some community stickers that I doubt I could recreate or even locate the stickers again. Then again my levels weren't effected, though I do feel for those that were.		2010-11-15 18:48:00

I would say this has to be a bug as well, as some of the levels being "modded" have no content in them that is moderation worthy, same with costumes. I have lost a few costumes it seems but I wasn't all that overly into it so could say for sure how many at the moment. BUT I did find that my psn inbox had all messages deleted back to a certain date last year. Everything was just gone - after updating my profile in the beta. So I think what we are experiencing is not a moderation attack on the community levels and players' content, but some kind of incompatibility/bug that has yet to be straightened out. If you are in the beta, that could be a good place to report it as they are looking at those reports.

I haven't read all the comments here, but do those of you with missing levels still have copies of them on your moons? If so, what happens when you re=publish them?		2010-11-15 20:19:00

In other news.
There was recently a breaking into the Media Molecule Building, the man who would only identify himself as "The Collector."
The man was found sneaking into the building's Game Moderation Center, in which he locked him self for several hours, moderiating content from MediaMolecule's award winning game "LittleBIGPlanet," until he got out and gave himself up.

What would drive and individual to act like that?
Luckly we managed to talk to him before he got taken away by the autorithies, here's what he had to say:
"I only wanted to make friends, I thought if I moderated everything from everyone, they'd have no choice but to play my levels and be my friends!
But then I realized it would take years to moderate all content on the servers, specially since there were more level being created al lthe time, so I decided to give myself up, who knows, maybe I'll make some friends in prison!"

There you have it folks, a sociopath who "only wanted to make friends," ...by force.

Im having this problem too, my Halloween lvl was moderated and there was nothing wrong with it, After of while of fixing it It wasnt moderated anymore Idk its confusing..but Im scared to publish lvls now lol, whatever it is I hope they fix...if everything I have gets moderated im getting a Army o Chicken and Conquer the world lol XD.2010-11-15 23:21:00
