PSP Hates Me...

Archive: 13 posts

Ok so first let's look at the problem.
Problems:
1. when I insert either of my 2 games into it.. it likes to "lock up" as I call it. It will go to the PSP screen, then stop there. and it will attempt to spin the disc, then it Clicks and stops. it just keeps doing that. and I can't turn it off. Then, I take the battery out and put it back in. and when I turn it on it sits on a black screen and tries to spin the disc again. Nothin...

Solutions:
Nowhere to be found.
I'm wondering If I should take it apart and clean it or what. has anyone else had this problem? I don't believe I have a warranty because I bought it used from gamestop.

Their really isnt way to fix it besides getting a new psp and game, and then you have to start your file over.2010-11-13 17:54:00

I recommend backing up your data first, so you still have your levels when you buy a new game.2010-11-13 18:02:00

Hey Ode,

I've had a very similar problem, so I really feel your pain. You may have warranty coverage, I could swear that gamestop has warranties in their used systems. First, you should call the gamestop where you purchased the psp and ask them about their warranties. You also need to find your receipt and establish whether or nor you fall in the timeframe. Also, backup anything, three is no need to lose all of your data.

I recommend slamming your psp against you leg till it works.
↑↑↑That is how I fixed mine. It had the same problem.

I'm pretty sure that the thing wrong is that some gear that moves the laser gets jammed and needs to be unjammed.

Honestly that's what I was thinking. I know it isn't the game's problem. It does it for LBP, and FF: crisis core... as far as the warranty, I think we had the option to get one but it was 30 bucks i didnt have. =S
I'll have to see about it.. and yea. haha. I actually tossed it onto my bed once and it worked.

( also, if I were to need a new psp.. you guys wont be seeing me for a long time.. we're tight on money.. )

False Alarm
If It locks up, it just takes a bit of banging on my knee.
