Persian Dreams

My newest Platformer level. Visit Persia and explore the palace of dreams. The style of the level is inspired by "Great Magician's Palace". I hope you enjoy.
Finally I decided to pubish this level. First i wasnt convince of the level because suddenly the thermo filled up and i had to make it shorter than i wanted. So the last areas are not perfect. But after I worked on it in the beta and got there good reviews i decidedd to update my "old" version. Now the thermo is almost burning but the level is published

Feedback

Thanks for playing my steamjunk level by the way, I appreicate that.

Positives:
+Visuals looked really good
+Puzzles were well done
+Gameplay went pretty smooth
+Theme of the level was really nice
+Liked the design of the level also reminded me off the story level

Negatives:
-Nothing major or anything just felt it kind of bored me a little bit but it was still fun

Overall the level was very good::star::star::star::star:

This level was pretty fun but pretty bland to me. I think it was because of the bluewood. It did remind me of the story level though. Nice platforming and nice ideas in this one. Also like how you used MM objects too in a different way. I would suggest adding a camera in the beginning because you can see the left wall create wall. Maybe spruce up the level with more stickers but nothing overboard though. I know you were going for the clean look . Also it looks wierd that you used a small scoreboard, but thats just my opinion. Nice level overall. Solid 4 star level.

Hey dude! finally played your level and to me seemed very good, has style in detail, is beautiful in construction and as you said L1ght level reminds me of story but i liked a lot, you have been magically designed and easy game-play adequate and very good use of lights and objects in LBP.

I have given :star::star::star::star: no doubt a good level.

Just played your level!

I thought the visuals were done nicely, but it felt a ittle empty at times. The gameplay was fun and I had no real problems, but it felt slow and a bit boring at times. There were some fun Lockstitch-esque moments, with the platforms. My biggest problem with the level was the tiny scoreboard. They have always been a pet peeve of mine, but more so in this level, as it felt I went through the whole level for nothing.

A fun, 4 star level, but a bit bland st some parts.

The gameplay was unique and interesting. It was a very inspiring aspect of the level. The lockstitch style platforms were probably insanely hard to pull off, and you get a pat on the back for that. I would highly recommend changing the blue wood though, it really made the level uninteresting. Maybe change it into the material that the Elephant Palace is made up of and then change the music to be more intense? You had a great gameplay theme, but the visuals seemed good, but just not enough of them.

Thanks for all these reviews, i will try your levels too ^^. I used the blue wood to make the view "soft" and the atmosphere "dreamy" but if this is too boring i will see what i can do to make it more exciting.2010-11-15 15:35:00

Ok, I made now an update:
-Music changed
-Added story+Character
-Added stickers

I hope it is better now ^^ .Please tell me if you still have any ideas for making the level better.

Nice level design and the dreamy atmosphere was pulled off in a soothing kind of way. :star::star::star::star:

Feedback

I would change most of the buttons to switches, nearly everytime I got on it, I somehow stepped off it and it closed the cutscene and I needed to re-open it to find out what it did.
When you first start off in your level, the wall to the left is entirely plain while others is dressed up. Would recommend doing exactly what you did on the final wall where the scoreboard is.
To the LEFT of the wall at the beginning, perhaps put some floating lights for ambience and so its not so bare over there, or use a camera like Lightmare suggested.
Most places I didnt need to swing across, I could just jump accross. The sponge actually got in the way a bit when grabbing a hold of a platform.

I think your design is awesome and in my book, simple is not neccesarily a bad thing if you pull it off right and I think you did just that. So great job. I also liked the bit where you mention you need to escape the dream or else you remain there forever, good addition.
