Lbp2 DLC Ideas

Archive: 143 posts

With Lbp2 there's no question about new Downloadable Content....but what should it be?

I'm not just talking about mini-packs, I'm talking about Level Packs, like Metal Gear Solid and Pirates of the Caribean.

I know that it's early to be talking about this, but I'm already exited for it!

Anyways here's a few good idea's that would be awesome to see in Lbp2:

Yu-Gi-Oh
2012
Dungeons and Dragons
Indianna Jones
Batman
Nickelodeon (SpongeBob Squarepants, Jimmy Neutron)
LEGO
Dinosaurs (The Land Before Time?)
The Smithsonean Museums
Burn Zombie Burn
Anything to do with Aliens (Mission to Mars, Planet 51)

I know that some of these ideas have already been used in Little Big Planet, but if Media Molecule were to make a Level Pack with Music, Backrounds, and new Items and characters...It would make Little Big Planet 2 even better than what it's already hyped-up to be!!

Leave a comment if you know any other ideas!!

--UPDATE--
Thanks for the Ideas guys! Mabye Mm will look at this and get some inspiration!

**-Ideas from EliminatorZigma-**

Sly Cooper
Uncharted
Infamous (2?) level pack
Toy Story
Ratchet and Clank
Call of Duty (THAT'd be something)
Castle Crashers
Super Meat Boy
Assassin's Creed level pack
Despicable Me
Shadow of the Colossus level pack

are what I have so far on my wishlist

EDIT: Yugi's hair would look HILARIOUS on a sackperson. And a duel disk as an accessory...
Also:
Naruto
Bleach
One Piece
and other anime/manga packs would be awesome!

Yugioh- it has much bad rep as good rep.
2012, Burnzombieburn, maybe DandD- I don't like the sound of those in what is supposed to be an E rated game.
And then the fact that other companies may not accept being in LBP or may raise too high of a price.

Almost as annoying as a 4x4 Rubik's Cube's parity problem.

theres nothing wrong with Yugioh -_-

plus your forgetting DLC from games like
God of War err? M rated games make their way to LBP
no problem. *mew

Anything that makes Bounce Pads stickearable. Pweeze.

I can't really think of a 'big' DLC pack before I've played the game for 2 months nonstop... I'm already happy about the game that's coming.

This. I don't see why they wouldn't. Mm has close ties with Disney. This basically ruins any chances of Nickelodeon stuff though.

Out of the ones suggested in the OP; LEGO, Batman, and Indiana Jones are a big YES from me. It would be cool to see a LEGO material. One mechanic I want in the game is climbable ladders/ropes. Personally, the biggest theme pack I want is Uncharted, which I feel will happen sooner or later. A Creator Pack 02 would be nice. Like >er said, I want my sackbots to be able to swim and use jetpacks. Possibly a checkpoint marker with a tweakable amount of lives. Mm could probably just add that in a patch though, same with the sackbot thing.2010-11-16 21:09:00

unlikely, but I'd like to see them make water like how it works in Super Mario World, that is not affected by gravity but can be swam in, then you could place blocks of it where you want water

How about a Sephiroth costume?

But really Id like to see a sword/weapon powerup. If Final Fantasy could be the theme for that, it would just make it all the better.

Metal Gear Solid
Red Dead Redemption
Final Fantasy
Devil May Cry

Or my favorite... A hand/body costume that has an electric/acoustic guitar strapped over his shoulders! W00p w00p!!

I wanna see some of the things, like the planet sackboy is holding on the front of the lbp1 box, as dlc, and the paintbrush and wrench he is holding in the instruction book would be cool to. I like those kinds of things. It could be like a LBP1 pack for lbp2!2010-11-22 13:14:00

I dont think Nickelodeon would do that since I believe it took microsoft's side. >.>
any movies probably wont either.
and anyways toy story and rachet + clank are real anyways right?
I'm not trying to ruin your hopes and dreams but you dont want to expect something that probably wont happen.

I'm not sure if the game's engine is capable of this, but I think it'd be cool if there were a few costumes that were cell shaded.

MM should give the people what they want! Star Wars pack ALL THE WAY!!!!!

People have been asking for a star wars pack ever since the begining. Imagine all that you could do with this. They could have six level packs, each containing key costumes from each of the six movies. They could then have Two Epic level packs. One containing the original trilogy stories. The other containing Episode I-III. They also have to think about all of the materials, objects, stickers, and power ups that they can have. Lightsaber or sword power up. Laser Blaster power up. Force gloves. A force material and darkside force material(can make objects that can only be manipulated by one side of the force like in Lego Star Wars), Death Star attack Level, Luke's Bespin costume, Darth Vader, Millenium Falcon level, ECT.

The Possiblilites of content could be near ENDLESS!!!!!!!

I would definitely buy a Hetalia: Axis Powers minipack. And maybe a Fat Princess pack? And some for movies, like Tangled, How to Train Your Dragon, and Harry Potter. In fact, I think I could live with all DLC from here on out being Harry Potter (like MM would do that).

I want a Warriors level pack. That's a great series.

I'd say that would be extremely popular. but i fear it would then be followed by Indianna Jones, Harry Potter ect ect....

what i want to see is a pack with various vehicles. stacks of vehicles; vintage cars, steam trains, & the parts/objects to make our own.

Non-licensed type of DLC I'd like to see would probably be:
- A music pack that has new instruments for the MS
- Fruit costumes like the one's for PSP
- Electronics costumes (Like a cell phone costume, a TV costume, a computer costume, etc.)

Hmm....

Wasn't there some kind of trailer showing a Sephiroth costume or something? It was very interesting to me but it was never released. If there will be a Final Fantasy pack I would be one to take... *looks at avatar *

Hmm... I'd also like to see maybe, err, music sequencer upgrades that the full game doesn't include initially. You know like (music geek time ) time signatures, changes in tempo in multiple parts, D.S. al Coda, and maybe new instruments while they're at it...

Squeenix wanted too much money for the rights to use the Final Fantasy likenesses.
One might hope that with the popularity of LBP2 Squeenix reconsiders, or even that the popularity means MM/Sony are willing to afford it, but I wouldn't really hold my breath.

Likewise for the Star Wars pack people are throwing about. I don't think Lucas would just give the rights for it away. One might argue that LEGO managed it (both the video games and the toy series), but if you look at the LEGO sets, you'll notice they're horribly overpriced. LEGO fans like to call that the Lucas Tax.

Harry Potter I can see happening. It might even come in combination with the Move update (should that ever come). It'd make sense, really.

Ooh! These LBP2 DLC ideas are awesome! Here are my ideas, listed from most likely to least (and how much I want(scale 1-10)):

Resident Evil (most likely) (8)
Final Fantasy (likely) (6)
Elder Scrolls (unlikely) (7)
Fallout (very unlikely) (9)

There you go!

are there not considerations for time signatures in the beta? i didn't get the beta, so i cannot say, but i'd like to know .

in all the beta videos i viewed, each bar/measure was divided by 16 slots. that's great when the music is in 4/4 common time, but what about 6/8 time? ?

Does anyone know if the DLC we already own will be transfered to LBP2? Just wondering since they said levels and stuff will still be there. I use DLC often so I hope if they take it away, they will replace it with something as good or even better!
Personally, I would like to see Star Wars content and some new materials and decorations, like feathers.

Jak & Daxter (Very likely because it is in NA CE)
Uncharted 1, 2 and 3 (Likely because its PS3 exclusive title)
inFamous (Likely because its PS3 exclusive title)
Seinfeld (Possible but not likely, possible becuase its made by Sony Pictures)
People Costume Pack: Containing a variety of modern clothing items.
Ye Ol' Days Costume Pack: Containing variety of costumes from the 15th century.
Halloween Costume Pack 2

@Melfice
I'd LOVE to see Harry Potter there! But the movies are made by Warner Brothers and the books are published by Scholastic... Another sum of money would to be paid, but I bet it would be worth it, since the books and movies are known and loved by many many people, so it will probably sell good.

what about 7/8 time! and 9/8 time! and yes tempo changes! (lol I'm really not a music geek, I barely know what I'm on about here I just came across this thread hoping to get the correct time signature settings so I can recreate tubular bells. I'll probably just fake it in 4/4 though, I can't imagine it being that hard)

I definitely agree that Toy Story should/will probably be a DLC. I could see the PSMove being able to show some of it's potential here.
What I'd also like (but what will probably not happen, even though it was supposed to happen) is Final Fantasy, for example.

- Music Pack (New songs, instruments and maybe a music sheet material.)
- Logic Pack (New logic tools, like a Perma Switch, I know you can already make one but this would make it take up less thermo and be more convienent. It could also include being able to save things so that you may carry something inbetween levels, like some variables.)
- Absolute Colour Material (Like hologram but it is one complete colour with no transperecy or glow.)
- Material Swapper. (Pretty Straightforward.)
- A tool like the creatinator but it's like a handle that you attach to any object you want, with a controllinator type microchip in it. (Not my idea, can't remember who said so sorry for not giving credit.)
- Option for making the controllinator invisible without making sackboy to.
- Option to turn sackboy on his side for topdown levels.

Stuff like this will be with Creator Packs I guess.

I'd rather like to see a DLC costume of a second Sackboy head. Like, a head that just sits on the Sackboy's shoulder like The Thing with Two Heads, but mimics the first head's movements exactly. I'd have tons of uses for it. (Zaphod Beeblebrox (http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/hitchhikers/gallery/images/340/zaphod2.jpg), anyone?)2011-02-01 18:41:00

I was thinking about suggesting a Sea Animals DLC costume pack. It would be nice if you could be a sea creature, since we dont have many to swim around in the water! Because I love Sea Animals, I think It would be a great idea for a new costume pack like this one, It can include

- A Whale Costume. With flippers for your hand section, A belly for your new animal, and a great big tail for the waist, oh and a big head for hat section!!!

- Squid. A big red squid for your whole body, A torso might fit the entire squid on, or maybe if you want, spread the tenticles for the legs section! Remeber, tenticles that wave would be a nice touch too, controlled by your hands.

- Whale Shark. Just like your Whale costume, exept this time, A Whale Shark! blue with white spots! and a great big mouth!

- Sting Ray / Manta Ray. I think this would be a nice touch too, with a stinging tail for its waist, But just for this one, I'll let you figure it out!

- That is all for now, these 4 costumes would be very nice for me and other sackfolk, I hope Mm sees this and maybe tells us when or what would be added to this pack. You may configure this pack but, I would LOVE a whale costume. Thank you :star:

I think a Lord of the Rings pack would be good. In my opinion it would give lots of new areas to the game:

1.Of course the action packed levels
2.New objects of course
3.New costumes
4.New music
5.New behavior option for sackbots (Goblin) (Hobit)
6.Sword powerup so when you swing your arm the enemy dies.
7.It would cost ?4.95 (UK Currency)

However my little fantasy most likely wont be made by Mm. Also an agent pack would be good.

Think about it, level kit and costume kit.
Costumes:
Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Megatron and Starscream.
Goodies:
I'm not that sure but music is a must as I love the LBP Music.

I mean, sure you could put in a costume of a pink Sackboy with the Mm logo on him. Maybe a hat or t-shirt with the same effect, but the stickers are all I really want.

I'm guessing they're not doing this because of the potential for people to abuse such things, making it look as though Mm approves of a given level or something. Just a guess though. (Plus when it comes to copyrights and such you have to defend them; passing out their logo might make it hard to defend. Not sure if that's a consideration, but a very basic rule of branding is you don't ever let people use your collateral in a way you can't control, because it can rebound really badly on you.)

To the topic at hand: honestly, I'm sick of all the derivative DLC. I'd really rather see MM originals. They must have a huge number of levels that didn't quite make the cut for LBP2 (or the original, for that matter). Or half-baked ideas that were discarded along the way; I can't imagine what we see onscreen represents the only level work that Mm has done. Failing that, DLC based on levels created in their spare time by some of the Molecules would also be amazing.

I mean... Mm has touted the idea that LBP lets you create anything you want. So why with DLC are they giving us retreads of tired game/movie characters and levels? Not that e.g. the MGS pack and the PoC pack weren't a lot of fun (and yay paintinator and water, obvs), but with this huge suite of tools at their disposal I'm kind of bored of looking at the DLC and thinking "Oh, cool.. now I can buy a costume that makes me look like a character from another video game. Bestill my beating heart." Why bother? Give me something from the endearingly twisted minds at Mm, please.

Weather Pack

Rain, Heat Wave, Thunder, Clouds, Fog

This would improve the game and save space for those types of Logic.

I wouldnt be surprized if there was a Final Fantasy pack. They already made a Seiferoth costume for it and never gave it to the public.

Also more Music options...

Flute, just 1 of them from the top of my head.

They also need to fix the controlnaters. You can only use 8 of them in 1 level. Its because they Tag each other by colour only. They need to change it to tag & name just like normal tags.

I also like to see adjustments to sackbot walking speed from sackbot memu without having to adjust the over all logic. This way can adjust your sackbots speed to 300%.

Also can add a Speed Tag. It would make racing levels amazing.

Rain would actually be a really neat game mechanic. To explore it logically they'd probably have to wait until LBP3, as they really need to fully integrate water into the core mechanics of the game. For example, for rain to be believable, it'll need to make puddles. Plus, wet surfaces should be slippery, sponge should soak up water, cardboard should fall apart, etc.2011-05-09 07:14:00

If Star Wars is ever made, then I need an Indiana Jones pack.

Ideas:

4 levels; Raiders of the Lost Ark, Temple of Doom, Last Crusade, and Crystal Skull.

Lava, like water but kills you and sets nearby wood and sponge alight.

Jones, Shorty, Jones's dad, ect as costumes.

A whip power-up that works like a combination of the grappling hook and the power glove, it allows you to grab faraway objects (or other sacks) and pull them towards you.

Weather Pack

Rain, Heat Wave, Thunder, Clouds, Fog

For the weather conditions, I have three words: Global Object Update. Or Global Weather Object. I say weather should be a part of the level's aesthetics just like the time of day and lighting. It would be fun to include rain or thunderstorms or even a blizzard as part of the level's natural appearance. Perhaps there could even be a Weather Sensor to detect when certain kinds of weather are active? Like if you want fires to extinguish in a rainstorm, for example.

Let's see, original DLC ideas...

Sackbot Creator Pack - updates the sackbots with new logic, models, and animations:
Logic - Waterproof setting, Flee from Tag
Models - Fat, Buff, Curve, and Tall
Animations - Pose Editor, Animation Sequencer

Sci-Fi Pack - includes costumes, materials, and tools with an outer space theme:
Costumes - Space Hero, Space Chick, Astrobot, Space Lord
Materials - Space Rock, Metal Bands, Colored Metal, Glowing Goo, Glowing Rock, Forcefield, Ion Reactor Glass, Conveyor Belt
Tools - Acid Bullet, Nitrogen Bullet, Warp Gate, Gravity Boots
Background: Spaceport

Four Elements Pack - focuses on the four elements:
Costumes - Earth Elemental, Water Elemental, Air Elemental, and Fire Elemental
Materials - Dirt, Tree Bark, Grass, Leaves, White Rock, Ice, Spring Water, Snow, Fluffy Cloud, Particle Cloud, Lava, Dark Rock
Background - Four Element Forest

WHAT about some SCRAPPED ideas!
You could want a BUNCH of stuff that was scrapped from LBP 2, for some weird reason.

If you haven't already look at the Concept Art for LBP2!

Like Costumes of Space Soldiers and those strange Popov things, they OWN Meanies!
There was even an upside down Playstation controller costume and some sort of
computor costume too and cyborg victorican people.

I would want that

I know some people get tired of third party DLC, but I think this pack would be too good to pass up.

Mega Man

Costumes: Mega Man, Roll, Dr. Light, Rush, Proto Man, Dr. Wily, Bass, Treble
Music: MM2 Wily Stage 1, MM3 Fortress Boss, MM7 Intro Stage, Theme of Bass
Cinematic: Theme of Mega Man, MM3 Get Weapon, Theme of Proto Man, Stage Start Stinger
Background: City

Those wanting Robot Master costumes could always purchase Robot Master packs, arranged by game. So Robot Master Pack 1 contains Cut Man, Guts Man, Ice Man, Bomb Man, Fire Man, and Elec Man. Rock and Sniper Joe are also included as bonuses since the original game only had six Robot Masters. Each pack could also contain the Robot Masters' respective level themes, though I do wonder if that would be a bit much. Since I'm suggesting a Classic Mega Man pack, why not a Mega Man X pack to go with it? Since my brother's waiting, I'll just suggest costumes for now: X, Zero, Vile, Sigma, Alia, Axl, Layer, and Palette.

Why not a Dragon Ball pack first? Especially since the manga doesn't consider Dragon Ball Z a separate series if I recall. I'm not the biggest fan of Dragon Ball, but a DLC pack would be cool to see just for artistic value alone. Like Marvel, there are enough notable characters to constitute several costume packs. And yes, they should make a Dragon Ball Z pack just because it's an influential anime and manga series. A Dragon Ball pack would also be good for introducing hand-to-hand combat to LBP.

Who wants to bet we'll eventually get Final Fantasy I and IV DLC packs? I'm guessing the costumes would be Warrior, Black Mage, White Mage, Red Mage, Thief, and Monk for FF1 and Dark Knight Cecil, Paladin Cecil, Kain, Rosa, Edge, and Rydia for FFIV.

Um, dude? Super Mario is a Nintendo series. A first party Nintendo series. Little Big Planet is a first party Sony series. That's like asking Warner Bros. to include Mickey Mouse in a Looney Tunes video game.

The Final Fantasy pack most certainly could happen though. The other less likely as it's currently a DS only game.

Myself? I would like to see a Portal 2 level pack with a portal gun powerup
Sadly, this only has a possible 9% chance of happening.

Other than that, the only thing that comes to mind is Black Ops Zombies... But that doesn't fit here, does it?

If we want to keep the "Disney = Nintendo, Sony = Warner Bros." analogy straight, that's more like Sackboy appearing in a Mario game, with Nintendo ultimately buying the game rights to the crossover in question, and there's a third character involved who's the true star of the game.

Consider this: Nintendo and Sony are competitors. When you legally use another company's character in a commercial product, you have to pay royalties. Sony probably doesn't want to pay Nintendo money to use a character who represents their competition as a whole in a game that directly competes with that character's series. I also doubt Nintendo would want to lend their flagship character to a competitor's high-profile competing game. It's just not sensible business practice.

A Super Mario pack would be cool, but consider we're talking about crossing two different first parties here, practically the two highest profile companies in the industry. The only way this would happen is if a third party produced a game on a system both Nintendo and Sony support and convinced both companies to lend their respective characters to the game in question. Even then, it probably wouldn't carry over to the game for which a Super Mario pack has been requested in the first place. Sorry, but that's how business works. Don't let that stop you from drawing up concepts of a Super Mario pack if you want, though. Who knows, maybe Nintendo and Sony will surprise us all.

I'd like to see more first party packs release for LBP. Where are the Ratchet & Clank, Jak and Daxter, and Sly Cooper packs? It's not like Sony requires royalties to use them, and what better way to draw attention to those series as they release new games?

What about a Time Tweaker? It would be an Object Tweaker and a Global Tweaker. It would be a tool which would allow you to control the flow of time in Play Mode. For the Time Flow option, it would be from -200% to 200%. These would be the ranges for the percentages:

-200 to -1 = Rewind
0 = Stop
1 to 100 = Play
101 to 200 = Fast Forward

The Object Time Tweaker would even have the option to toggle whether the object is affected by time or not. It would even work on Sackbots!

Would be kinda hard to program, don't you think? Rewinding in-game "time" is a core mechanic that requires a lot of optimization. I don't doubt it could be done, but prepare to see instant game-crashing lag on levels that have a lot of materials, objects, and decoration.2011-07-17 02:05:00

I think I might of said this in an earlier post, or another thread, but I want some normal clothes. I was trying to find just a regular t-shirt for my sack buddy the other day and the only one I had was the first week LBP2 shirt.

Also, I like the idea of a Dragonball pack. If Mm made a pack based on a manga, it would either be that, or Naruto. So that would be cool.

Some other ideas:
Warhawk/Starhawk pack
Scott Pilgrim pack
DC Comics pack
Demon's Souls/ Dark Souls pack
Dead Space pack
World Theme packs (Ancient Japan, Medieval Europe, Africa, Native Americans)
Star Wars pack
Uncharted pack
LEGO pack
Harry Potter pack
Lord of the Rings pack

And I hope when Sonic Generations comes out. LBP gets a Sonic Generations costume pack... :3
I say there should be 2 packs, both have 4/5 characters, pack 1 has classic Sonic and pack two has Modern Sonic.
and going in to a bit more detail...

Sonic Generations pack1:
Classic Sonic
Tails
Eggman
Metal Sonic
Amy

Sonic Generations pack2:
Modern Sonic
Knuckles
Shadow
Cream
And maybe the new bad guy? *hopefully it's a cool character...

While I would love to see most of them, realistically given that Sony has ties with Disney we can only expect Disney dlc in the near future and of course the then obvious tie in marvel though the movie rights. As for Lego it's possible as both companies have strong ties with Disney and they both love synergy and Lego keeps trying to break into the video game Market and I recon most LBP players used to or still do play with Lego. But is still unlikely I recon. But we can be almost garenteed to get any sony exclusive and I reckon uncharted dlc will be coming soon.

Oh and @JspOt it's an E rated game with killzone DLC

final on my wish list is Dr who DLC cause I'm British and halo DLC for the irony value

Not really.
A lot of the DLC we been getting lately is not Disney, thankfully.
as a example, Killzone pack? Move heros costume pack? FF7 pack? and so on~
and sure we are getting toy story pack soon. but we are also getting Move pack soon.
So I'm not worried about upcoming DLC to be mostly Disney junk.
because a lot of it won't be.

Disney junk? What's wrong with DLC based on the Incredibles, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Toy Story? If it was all modern sitcom stuff I'd feel compelled to agree with you, but it's not like we're getting the worst of Disney's lineup. I am surprised we haven't gotten a Disney Princess costume pack yet, though. I wouldn't mind some Disney Renaissance DLC myself. Aladdin, Hercules, Mulan...those would be great. Especially Aladdin.2011-07-28 06:21:00

Repost from myself from another topic.

There is a Sonic Unleashed Costume pack with costumes of Sonic (both Hedgehog and Werehog forms), Tails, Knuckles, and Eggman, as well as a collection of stickers from Sonic the Hedgehog (1991). I highly doubt they would make a Classic Sonic costume, but maybe a Generations level kit and 4 costume packs containing costumes of all Sonic characters prior to Generations that weren't in the Unleashed Pack. If they release the packs, that would be cool. If it contained the Classic remix of Escape from the City, or a new, LBP-exclusive mix, that would make my day.

There is a Sonic Unleashed Costume pack with costumes of Sonic

I know that, (Big-time crazy Sonic fan here)
I had the pack the first day it came out.
it was not even close to good enough.

and yes they may do another one. remember the infamous 2 costume pack?
and killzone 2nd pack? and Motorstorm pack 2? that all came out not long ago?
No reason for them not to do Sonic again also.

they did the same character from infamous two times now... so it'd not be odd.
they missed over half the important characters last time from sonic.
And Sonic generations is a good time for them to do a new pack.

and just like they did with the character from infamous.
they could make Sonic characters they have made before better this time.

I highly doubt they would make a Classic Sonic costume,.
I don't. and you know why? because if they do Sonic generations pack.
they will want to base it off of Sonic generations, duh, Meaning Classic Sonic is a must.
after all, they did werehog from sonic unleashed. and if you think about it for a bit...
that's something you'd not expect them to do. but they did. because
the pack was based after Sonic unleashed, and not sonic in general.

What I highly doubt is that they'll make a level pack. they almost never make level packs.
so the best we can hope for is the second Sonic pack made for Sonic generations.
that to be honest it does have a OK chance of happening.

Hehe, "impotent". I know you meant "important"", but man does that sound funny.

I'd be happy if they made new Sonic DLC. Two characters that would be great costume choices would be Rouge and Blaze. They're easily the two most fashionable Sonic characters, and I could see a lot of people making use of Rouge's bat wings or Blaze's coat. If a Level Kit is in order, that'd be a great opportunity to introduce speed-oriented power-ups such as the Dashinators, Boost Pad, and Boost Ring. Also a Chaos Emerald light object.

Yeah, but they made the 2 Cole costumes in the inFamous 2 costume pack because he has 2 different outfits in inFamous 2. However, Sonic has basically looked the same. the only differences between Modern and Classic is that Modern has white soles and green eyes. Classic Sonic's shoes are mostly red, with the white strap and buckle.

What about a Super form power-up?

Eh, what purpose would that serve? Invincibility? I'd rather see that implemented through a more original means.

Power-Ups usually only vaguely relate to the Kit in which they're introduced. For example, a gun power up for Metal Gear Solid and a scuba tank for Pirates of the Caribbean. You're unlikely to see a power-up with such strong ties to DLC. Besides, most power-up-based DLC focus on one particular mechanic or group of mechanics, such as Pirates of the Caribbean introducing water-related tools. For Sonic, speed would be a really good theme, hence the Dashinators, Boost Pad, and Boost Ring.

A Super Sonic costume could be possible, though.

Haha Lets just say if they do it, then they do it.
and lets wait to see if they can make it different or not when we get there.
And again if they base the pack after Sonic generations
then they will Do Classic Sonic even if he looks almost the same.
Plus the Two Sonics look tons different... Your just not nitpicky enough.

Judging how the FFVII pack was so craved for and yet took so long to arrive, I guess we'll never get a DC comics pack. Or did they do some contract with Marvel? Sigh.2011-08-03 05:19:00

Are you kidding? Super Sackboy would be awesome. I mean, who else agrees?

Haha Lets just say if they do it, then they do it.
and lets wait to see if they can make it different or not when we get there.
And again if they base the pack after Sonic generations
then they will Do Classic Sonic even if he looks almost the same.
Plus the Two Sonics look tons different... Your just not nitpicky enough.

The only other differences between the Sonics are the shades of blue and height. But, all Sackpeople are the same height.

how can you not notice Classic-Sonic has far shorter Spikes?
and besides the character having black eyes,
the whites of his eyes are little different shape then modern Sonic.
and his ears point differently and are little fatter . and his nose is rounder.

Look lets face it. if they do the pack. they will do Classic Sonic. that's just how it would be.
it may look almost the same but they would still do it anyways.
there is no Argument to be had about it.

If anything they may not add A new modern Sonic to the pack and just do Classic Sonic.
like one thing they could add this time is real eyes if they wanted to.
So here is how he be different.

Lighter Blue. and less yellow skin.
Far Shorter Spikes.
Classic Shoes
And maybe Eyes this time.
A more round nose.
and maybe teeth too.

See? that's more then different enough from the old costume.

In the end, it depends on whether SEGA wants to make a Generations Pack or not. They'll be the ones calling the shots. The question is, would a Classic Sonic costume make that much difference? Yeah, there's the subtle differences in design, but are they really worth representing in two different costumes? And what about the other characters? Tails and Knuckles change even less than Sonic, while Amy changes drastically. Eggman also has noticeable changes. Metal Sonic's situation is similar to Sonic's.2011-08-05 05:37:00

One question. What are the Dashinators anyway? Could you at least give a sketch of what they would look like and a description? You're leaving me (and possibly others) in the dark.

I know. that's why I put a lot of "IF they do the pack" while talking
But MM already has a contract with Sonic-Team anyways, or they would not be able to sell the pack they have.
So they should be able to do another much more easy then the first time they did.
it really comes down to if LBP think it's worth making another pack or not~
but I think there's a OK chance they will.

and of course I hope they don't do only just the same characters as last time
but that's why it be nice if they did two new costume packs so there
be room for better remakes of the old costumes and room for new character costumes...
just like in the ways i said on my other post on this topic~

I don't have a concrete idea of what they'd look like, but they'd basically be shoes that allow you to run faster by holding R1 and pull off a few acrobatic tricks. I linked to this picture (http://crossfire7.deviantart.com/art/Little-Big-Planet-ideas-215682582) before in the art section of the site. The Dashinators are depicted at the top.

I think a GTA minipack would be great. I really need a niko jacket and trousers for me to mk a movie about it >=( even better, add in a COD pack with guns... As a costume! I mean to hold in your hand, not to dress up as one -____- itd be better in the GTA pack-less money spent! It has stickers of likie cops, cars, helicopter, maybye some action scenes. But there is a huge problekm with putting 18 rated games into a kids game... But the kiddies will know not to buy it-right? =L2011-08-06 20:42:00

Freerunning/Parkour Pack Anyone? This sketch reminds me of this and it be perfect in this pack
Maybe extra lvls...idk...but could include a costume with this pack?
R1 to sprint suck because you end up grabbing other players, Circle button to sprint will be good tbf.

EDIT: Made a pic of a costume what it looked like http://img853.imageshack.us/img853/5444/lbpparkourcostume.jpg
I Signed up to ImageShack instead of Photobucket because I am different had a small problem with it, but got hang of it a bit

Well, as long as they don't include any actual adult material in the pack, kids can buy it, but the problem lies with promoting the game. You don't want kids being encouraged to buy an M or even AO rated game by offering them family friendly DLC based on such a game. Then again, we have the Metal Gear Solid pack, and that ain't exactly a kiddie series either. They should probably include a disclaimer that the DLC is based on a game that's not for kids.

Speaking of which, while I'm not a fan of the series myself, what about Resident Evil DLC? Mainly, costumes based on Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Claire Redfield, Leon Kennedy, and other major Resident Evil heroes.

And once again I'd love to see Mega Man, X, and Legends DLC. They can make a lot of costume packs based on those series, particularly the original Mega Man, and all three have classic soundtracks.

The Dashinators could disable grabbing to make sure the dash works right. Two problems with using the Circle button: 1. It's usually reserved for dropping power-ups and 2. Pressing the Circle button requires use of the thumb, which is also needed to jump. By using R1 to dash, players can run and jump at the same time.

Agreed, It can be used to cover large jump on which the player can jump further instead of a piece of sponge to swing and Wall jump instead of sponge elevating them or go up.
In case where the gap in the back layer where you have to go down by grabbing sponge, like going down by pushing down on the L stick and X to go down and move forwards a plane, it may do the same, but pushing up on the L stick.

I don't know, but if Mm gonna add in Dashinators, I think they map the buttons that uses fingers to activate it, but R1's pretty sweet tbf.
I thinking they map it to L1, but weired stuff happen is that it display usernames over players :/

I actually would like to see some unlicensed DLC packs. For two reasons:

1. Price would be less, as there wouldn't be a third party in need of a cut.

2. More universal use

Ideas for DLC packs:

Medieval pack - Archer costume (with a toy bow with suction cup arrow), Joker costume, Damsel costume (with the pointy hat with long veil), Dragon costume.
Civilian pack - Policeman costume, Fireman costume, Doctor costume, Lumberjack (or something else) costume

I think you get the point. How many "Incredibles" levels can you possibly make? I could have more uses for a policeman in my levels.

First idea:

A Star Wars DLC pack. Must include two new movie camera transition types:

Iris
Wipe

And a new pin:

A Long Time Ago in a Galaxy Far Far Away: use more than 100 iris or wipe transitions in a single movie

Second idea:

An "Internet Memes" sticker pack (Trollface, Awesome Smiley, Nyan Cat, Lolcats etc.)
