To mark the day...

Archive: 25 posts

Hey!

I was thinking. If LittleBIGPlanet 2 hadn't been delayed, then it'd be out Tuesday, Or maybe even today for the UK.

We would have it by now (kinda) if it weren't delayed. I think Mm should bring out a DEMO or make the BETA an open one to mark the day. They did say they'd give us a taste prior to launch, and what better day to do so than the original release date?

Who agrees? I think it'd be a cool idea

We spotted on lbp.me QA testers testing something on beta servers (QA tests are quality measure test, usually it's a final test before products gets out), what was interesting they had pins in there profiles and there levels don't want to load like 1.01 levels didn't on 1.00, so there might be new patch coming2010-11-12 17:55:00

When the delay was announced, they did say that they were going to "find a way to give more of you a taste of LBP2 prior to launch" so perhaps they're ramping up for a new beta phase. The thing is, with an open beta, the game has to REALLY be in a close to shipping state forthe beta to be released, so if the bugs are still rampant it might still be a closed beta. Either way, I think they might do something to mark the day. 2010-11-12 19:08:00

News_crew, lets not jump to conclusions o_O
Well, we all want to try don't we? But for open betas, you have to be close to release...
But we can't see the future.
We have to wait to see what Mm does.

The beta right now is really buggy, and at times I get rather annoyed by the stupid thing. I think that an open beta is highly unlikely right now, but who knows, it might. :/2010-11-13 04:41:00

wow, if the beta is still this buggy, I can't imagine what the game would be like if it came out on tuesday, although I would really like the beta, I think i'll be alright considering that Asssassin's creed brotherhood and NFS hot pursuit come out on tuesday, so I'll live.2010-11-13 05:52:00

Don't we all?

Don't think that your all special, some of us don't even have the beta, so I think Mm should make a demo.

But, best to wait...

Yeah, Iwas thinking that. I had an exam the day before it came out, it would've been great to get it.

I marked the occassion by playing LBP1, same as every night

I spotted 2 more testers yesterday, one even played my levels including by patch braked Real TV! but they didn't have QA in there nicknames

Don't get you hopes too high, they might just test developer builds on beta servers

Well they may or may not be releasing another beta patch, but seeing as they are ramping up to gold (as far as I can tell from twitter), it might make sense to release a significantly more stable build than the current one, so that any bugs that made it through to gold can be identified and patched before release (I'd expect we will be seeing a day one patch TBH). It would certainly be mean of them to be testing newer versions on the public server for all to see, but not provide us with the patch - that's unnecessary teasing IMO

That said, even if they do release a new patch, then we still don't know if that will coincide with more people being added to the list of beta testers. So it's very much a wait and see scenario, and don't get your hopes up too high.

Just remember the beta isn't to have fun, it's to find and report bugs

I love how people think that being unemployed beta tester is serious business but if it was they would not be betas and there would be strict selection (low number of keys =/= strict selection), since we sux in testing and most people not reporting bugs. They picked "active users" to be sure they will play that beta for longer time, not just install and 1 play and bye bye

General reason of beta is to provide real user usage and it's randomness in to the test and provide more accurate statistical data (not simulation), so even is you play a beta and you have fun you helping developers anyway by being on there server and leaving footprints, ofcorse you will be more helpful reporting bugs, and some people do so. Also beta show of the game it self and it's way of advertise it, just look how press react to people creations.

Ofcorse it will get boring after time (for me it's not, there always something new form creators), but its only test so they don't need to update if they don't want to

Too bad every bug I found has already been reported. >:/ Bugs I do find are hard ones to explain. Question: How many times can I reproduce the bug? Me: I don't know it is just in there go fix it now!

I wonder if they did release it today, would the "god glitch" be in the game? D:

Wait, when you guys say it's buggy, do you mean bugs that are already reported and not patched, or new ever-present bugs?2010-11-14 22:45:00
