Well, the servers may go down by that time, but the beta will never expire, you can always play it offline.

When the fat lady sings. The servers are still running so we're good for now. I'm sure Mm will let us know when our services are no longer required. 2010-11-10 08:12:00

I am going to miss the beta and all the wonderful levels & creations that won't make it over to the full game
I will miss my own creations too. When you make a level with the intention of publishing it, you want it to be liked so put a fair amount of effort into it.
And when you work hard making a level or object work properly, it's hard not to become a bit attached to it. Especially if you're proud of it.

I hope that when they announce the end, they'll give us some time before ending it because I don't want to be taken by surprise.

PS3 DRM supports time limited access, when it expires you can't run the game again, this is what they used i most betas i been, including MNR, or else you got some source that confirming what you said

Yeah, I had both MNR betas, which were accessible offline, but after a certain date you couldn't load them any more.

But the LBP1 (as in Leerdammer/Baterweta/lbp.me) will only load if you're signed in to PSN, so with that it will just be a 'switch the severs off' job. And you need the LBP1 disc in to play it anyway, so meh. But after LBP.me is compatabilitized with the retail version of LBP1 I don't see why the LBP1 beta client should be kepy running.

...what was the question again?

I wasn't in previous betas so I can't check this. But can you not play the LBP1 beta client still? I think someone said you can on the LBP2 beta forums. So if LBP2 beta is anything like LBP1 beta, it'll never expire.2010-11-10 18:49:00

Yes you can but that beta is still ongoing. Published levels in the LBP1 beta show up on the LBP2 community planet.

Yes you can, but the LBP1 beta client checked for servers first. Once the server access was pulled the Beta was no more. The LBP2 beta can work offline, so.... you can play with it all they way up till you get the real thing! Even then, I suspect they will have the servers up for quite awhile. I still think we will see another update as it would make sense for them to test some of their fixes (like less crashing!?!?) as well as REAL online create stability rather than us jumping through hoops and doing it ...though I am sure they have figured out we have been doing Online Create for awhile. lol

What? I thought that was a feature - it's like a fun little gamble of how long can you safely last between levels saves

New beta client would be great, I wonder if it's coming "soon".
