LBP2 BETA FAQ's

Archive: 7 posts

If you're curious about lbp2, but haven't recieved the beta then check out these Questions and Answers!

Q - Can you gameshare the Beta?
A - It is on the download list, but Mm knows which servers from a ps3 system have the beta and which servers from a ps3 aren't aloud to. Plus, the first day you download it and play it, your account and the account you gameshared it from will be Suspended or even Banned! So don't even consider gamesharing it!

Q - Are there jump levels, shark survivals, train survivals?
A - Sadly there are, but they don't crowd the cool levels page. Very very good levels are on the cool levels page!! So no need to worry!

Q - Is it better than LittleBigPlanet 1?
A - Yes, by far...But there are some things that I wish they didn't add to lbp2, for instance you can close certain sections in your popit and hide tools and objects, it took me awhile to figure out why I couldn't find Checkpoints! Also, the way the popit is organized is different from lbp1, the tools are in different spots! It takes some time getting used to Also, in the costume section, they changed the entire order of sections (it's hard to explain, but you'll know when you get it.) And Create mode looks horrible in my opinion, it's basically a stiched 3d (50 layer) white material that looks sloppy in every corner.

Q - What are sackbots?
A- Sackbots are basically sackboys with any costume that have the same capibilities of any normal player, for example a sackbot can jump, move into different layers, use power-ups (such as the creationator and power gloves), slap players or other sackbots, change their expressions, and even immitate your actions by recording an action from you into a sackbot (ie. making them dance, making them go happy and angry!!!) They can also have the same costumes as other players in the level (say you wanted one sackbot to have the same costume as player one, or player four!) There are many other things that you can do with sackbots that I'll leave for you to discover when lbp2 comes out!]

Q - Can you record your own voice or a video with PsEye?
A - No

Q - What's the logic like?
A - Picture having the logic pack made from Lbpc, but into simple blocks that are a lot more efficient, all I need to say about that.

Q - Can you emit water? Will it effect the water level?
A - You can emit water as an object, but it won't change the global water level, it still looks really nice though!

Q - Can you lethalize objects into plasma?
A - Yes!!

Q - What are some the new tools like?
A - Sticker Cutting tool : Make a cutout of any sticker, this can be usefull for Mm Stickers, but dosen't work for pictures so don't bother using it to make cutouts of your sackboy (You could use a Sackbot anyways!) Advanced Glue Tool : Glue a certain object to another certain object without glueing it to every object around it. Destroyer : Destroy any object when activated by a switch (Fade, Explode, Dissolve, Dissapear, Shrink) This can be placed on any object. Grappling hook : Basically makes you grab onto things from a distance. Creationator : An emiter on your head, you can emit anything, and give it different velocities and accuracies. Anti Gravity Tweaker : A global tweaker that will change the Gravity when activated by a switch. There are many more tools in lbp2 that are to be discovered, but there's a good chunk of them.

Q - What are the story levels like? How many are there?
A - There are a total of 3 levels and 2 minigames. The 3 levels are Tower of Woop, which uses bounce pads and grapple hooks, Lift off, which is a space theme that uses the anti-gravity tweaker and cinematics, and lastly Pipe Dreams, which make a very good use of Sackbots in which you're trying to free them from a prison cell (sort of like the collector's lair in lbp1) The 2 minigames are the Block Racers which demonstrated from the E3 presontation. All of these levels have amazing scenery, amazing themes, and amazing music!

Q - What are Movers? What are Rotators?
A - Movers and Rotators allow you to make any object move in any direction and rotate at any angle, you will need a standard level of logic to know how to use these, but thankfully there are tutorials in lbp2 to show you how use them!

Q - What's a Microchip?
A - A microchip has the capibility of storing all of your logic on any object (ie. Magnetic "Tag Sensors, Motion "Player" Sensors, Sound Effects) any object have a microchip, and you can put other microchips on a microchips. These are extremely useful for hiding all of your logic into one chip on an object.

Q - What are Controllinators?
A - Probably what makes lbp2 so unique, controllinators allow you to make use of any button on a ps3 controller (even the PS button, even Tilting the controller!!!) and give actions and codes to any logic you want for your level (For example, pressing O while in the controllinator will shoot something out of an emiter, or moving the analog stick will trigger a mover to move the object) If you're going to make levels, definately include these into them!!

Q - Has music making improved in lbp2?
A - Yes, it has improved a lot. There is a new way of making music in lbp2 : the Music Sequencer. The Music Sequencer is a Microchip that is able to have multiple intruments playing a song. There are dozens of sequencer instuments to choose from (such as the Piano, Drum Kit, 8-Bit Drum Kit, Synth. Instruments, base guitars). When editing the Instrument blocks on the sequencer microchip, there is a row of piano keys to show you what the pitch of your note is, you are able to make notes play longer or shorter, you can even change the echo effect or volume on instrument blocks! It's something that will definately change music making in lbp2!!

This should cover some of the basics in lbp2, but if you have any other questions leave a comment and i'll answer it!

Sorry but should someone new to the site as you really should trying to make a Faq?
Plus your not saying anything that has not already been said 100times on this forum,
plus your Faq is to strongly opinionated and said somethings that are only half true...
a topic like this may be somewhat helpful at a place that was not LBPC... but this is LBPC
so i see no point in anything that's been said here, sorry but it had to be said :/
plus this is not news just so you know, you should have posted this if you just had to, post it
in everything else lbp2, >.> *meew
