How do you get the clean text in a cutscene camera?

Archive: 11 posts

I tried using a magic mouth, but it has the bubble text (Which I don't want)
In some peoples cutscenes in the beta, they have nice clean text on the bottom/top of the black border in a cutscene camera.
How do I achieve this?

Allow subtitles.

Not sure if that works at the moment. I believe it was (accidentally?) taken out with the last update.

Ohh right, must have been taken out then as I can't see that option on any of the cameras.2010-11-08 15:35:00

Use the Sequencers to use subtitles still until they fix the normal one. *mew

PS: subtitles were never in the cameras... they were in the magic mouths,
if i remember right.

Yeah I realised I never checked the magic mouths after I typed my message.

But use the sequencers to use subtitles? How do you do that?

EDIT:
Doesn't matter, figured it out thank you for your help.

Yes, I am currently working on a movie level, and I found out this by accident...

The subtitles option is only available in the magic mouth settings, when it's put on a sequencer..
Hope they fix that for the final game...!

I was also thinking that it would be cool if there was an (automatic) option
to remove the "skip" button icon on the edge on speech bubbles...
It just doesn't make sense when you're in a cinematic scene
and that the controller is disabled, it's just distracting...

Because you can chain magic mouths and sync cinematic to them (you can see that in action in my Greedy LEvel instructions) and imo it's a best way to do cinematics and specially instructions, i hate when people make forced instruction cinematic on sequencer that is not skippable.

Magic Mouths on sequencers? What exactly does it do? 2010-11-08 17:00:00

You know what sequencer is right?, you can sequenced magic mouth so they will show in specific time once sequencer is activated, most cinematics that are out there published use that2010-11-08 17:26:00

Yeah I know and understand what you mean,
but I was talking only about movie cinematics, for levels that you only "watch",
where you don't need skippable speech bubbles

For me this little colored icon is a little distracting, doesn't look right in a "film"...
so just I'm saying if there's a way for MM to make it dissapear when the controller is disabled, that would be cool..!

Hmm you right :> fact that sequenced magic mouth subtitles still got subtitles and there rumors that subtitles disappeared because they picked wrong build configuration, makes me think that sequenced and unsequenced objects are 2 different objects in code state point, and thy could remove that circle button on sequenced, it would be reasonable.2010-11-08 17:57:00
