Small Circles; Are They Neat?
Archive: 12 posts
I was just wondering this. Does the new LBP2 engine fix the problem that we all dealt with in LBP1? A good example of what im talking about is this: If you make a circle within a shape and then shrink it down, one of the circles 'sides' turns straight, thus not making it a complete circle, or look like one anyway. I'd upload an image of what im talking about, but i've lost my pen drive! Thanks! | 2010-11-07 23:06:00 Author: Mr_T-Shirt Posts: 1477 |
No. It would be impossible for the engine to do that and still make it editable. | 2010-11-07 23:07:00 Author: TheZimInvader Posts: 3149 |
One of the best parts about LBP2 is that you can zoom the camera out further. Then you can add more detail to your objects without them distorting. You can also have the player control a huge sackbot, and it'll be as though it were zoomed in, just with more detail. | 2010-11-07 23:31:00 Author: thor Posts: 388 |

But when all's said and done, something else raises problem in this case... The depth will still stay the same, although everything's bigger and taller. You could use the 3D glitch though. Nobody's perfect, I guess we'll just have to put up with it and not to make too tiny shapes. | 2010-11-08 18:20:00 Author: Oddmania Posts: 1305 |

I've seen many levels now that have used really zoomed out camera angles to add more detail to their creations. What I meant is that simple stairs should be made with 3 layers with a huge Sackboy, for instance. It's somewhat restricting, but not that important. | 2010-11-08 19:26:00 Author: Oddmania Posts: 1305 |
But I'm not sure if question was even answered. I'm assuming another way to ask it is; If a wanted to make a tire / rim combo for my car, and I took a rubber circle then cut and paste a metal rim on the inside of the rubber circle, would there be a "flat edge" on the inner part of the rubber donut? | 2010-11-10 05:38:00 Author: sascha_winter Posts: 163 |

I'm pretty sure its the same as it was in LBP1... LBP2 is not really different from LBP1... all the new graphics mostly just have to do with the new lighting system >.> Sadly... so LBP2 don't have as many graphic upgrades we could hope but I'll make extra sure tonight, I'll go look for you. *mew | 2010-11-10 18:32:00 Author: Lord-Dreamerz Posts: 4261 |

Yes, I'm afraid it still does that kind of thing. | 2010-11-12 11:34:00 Author: Nakatsu Hime Posts: 59 |
