Animating Sackbot While Flying?

Has anyone found a reliable way to get a sackbot to animate while moving through the air? As long as movement is limited to only left/right, everything seems to work relatively well.

However, as soon as I move a sackbot up/down, he suddenly turns into a statue and won't reliably animate (including when you press left/right).

Has anyone found a way around this? For example, make a sackbot do the running animation while moving upward or downward.		2010-11-07 18:00:00

Interestingly, if you rotate a sackbot, he will continue to walk if you press right/left (even if he is facing up or down). However, once you actually press up or down, he'll just stand there and stare, and there's no way to make him stop. I'm going to try to trigger some "actor" logic a few different ways and see if that works.2010-11-07 22:23:00

I haven't tried it, but what you might do is not link the player's controls directly to the bot's controls. Set up a receiver but don't have it control the bot. Instead put another controllinator on the bot and hook the wires you want from the receiver into the bot's controllinator (you'll notice that a controllinator on a bot can have wires plugged into the controls). Now you can either leave the up/down controls disconnected or use logic to disable them during flight so that up/down only outputs to your movers and not to the bot's up/down. Does that make sense?

Anyway, like I said, I haven't tried it so I don't know if it'll solve your problem, but if you try it I'd be interested to hear your results.		2010-11-08 07:23:00
