Halloweenies: The Introduction

Halloweenies: The Introductionaustimerr
Begin your journey to help Dr. Mr. Evil keep his candy at his side during Halloween. Get ready for a crazy series that includes famous movie monsters with a twist!
Hey again PSP'ers! I am here with my third full level and this time its an intro to a series!

After getting an invite to an Evil Scientist's castle you get charged with a quest that will make you laugh, cry, and scream. Well actually you wont scream and that's this guy's problem!
In the intro the point of the level is to get to the scientist's castle and receive your quest. Once you learn what you must do the level ends and the series begins!

I didn't wanna give too much away so I left the description kind of vague (sorry).

I made this level fast like 4-5 days fast. But it is still awesome! I have made two cool characters that are up for grabs along with a tree, a dying plant, and a cage.

So go play the intro because then when the rest of them come out you wont have to go back!

Feedback is always appreciated, thanks in advance!

Since I was first to comment in the idea section, I think it's only right that I'm first to review.

This level was mediocre at best. There were elements of a truly great level but it was held back by some glaring flaws.

The Good:
You created a truly great atmosphere with the beginning section in the forest. Everything looked good and was fun. I would have loved to see more of this.
The story is setting it up for something truly great.
You made it obvious where to go while keeping it fun.
The characters looked great.

The Bad:
The level is SHORT. There ultimately isn't much too do.
The intro is far too long. It literally takes up half the time the level takes to be played. I HIGHLY suggest shortening this.
The laboratory looks overly cluttered. This could be because of the background chosen. A simple material swap could fix this.

All in all it has potential but is too short to be much of anything at the moment. I was hoping to see some of the great ideas you had but they weren't in this. Though you are planning to get around to that in later iterations, perhaps you should have put a bit more in this version.

I gave this three stars. Sorry if it sounds like I'm being rude or blunt, but I figure it's probably more useful than sheer praise. This series is brimming with potential and since this is only the prologue there is a ton of untapped potential remaining.

@fading dream: You do know its an intro right? I don't see the point in rating it harshly. (I guess you just one of those people)

Anyways, I though it was great and i can't wait for the rest of the levels, 5 stars.

I can shorten the intro and unclutter the lab but the level's thermometer was full so length is unchangable, and it is an intro its just for introducing the series.

EDIT: Republished with less clutter and faster intro!

Just because it is an intro doesn't mean I'm going to mark it differently than most levels. I truly think this series can be something great. The intro was pretty good for an intro, but it was very short. Does it mean I'm not going to play the future levels? Not at all. I decided I wanted to write a full review and thought I would list everything I liked/disliked. There's a lot to like in this level and I recommend people play it. (Now I sound defensive and bitter)... Anyway, everything looked great and it sets up the rest of the story but it really didn't do much for me.

So I've replayed the updated one and I definitely enjoyed it more this time around. First of all, I think the beginning flows MUCH better with the shortened amount of time. It's still very readable, but it doesn't drag on like it used to. One thing I forgot to mention in my initial post was the humor. This level is hillarious. "No idiots getting in" "Dr. Mr. Evil". It cracked me up!

One odd thing I found: When going through the story where Dr. Mr. Evil is talking, it seems like a speech bubble was missed. It goes from "Scare-" to "candy". I'm pretty sure I walked slow enough, but I'll double check.....

Checking....

Nearly done...

Your pizza pops are ready!

Nevermind, I walked too fast...

I enjoyed it a lot more. I gave it five stars and a heart to boot!

This level was cool, but it was a little short.
