Jelly World: Hot Spot Part 1 *Spotlight Nod*

Jelly World: Hot Spot Part 1Cheeze-Bo
Sackboy's fourth outing to Jelly World. After the hot sauce spilt in the Snack Attack, there is a mess to clean up.

This is a new Jelly World level that continues straight after Snack Attack. Marshmellows have melted everywhere and Sackboy needs to clean/eat it up. Whilst getting rid of all the mess, the Pickles turn up. They seem nice, but can they be trusted? Find out in Part 2 (Coming Soon)

This is a solo Jelly World, but Sketch has tested it. I can't remember what he said but I posted it somewhere. Ah found it:

'Hey Cheeze-Bo i tryed your jelly world level and i really liked it. The Gameplay is great and looks really good too.'

Feedback time!
Ok level, I thought it was an improvement on your previous levels. I think you should've kept Snack Attack's background to keep the story going. One major thing is the level floor showing, the fact that it's the fantasy background makes it look worse. Good corner editing, but I thought the forks and some gameplay could've been better looking. The gameplay was fun and original thanks to the slippery-ness. Good level and good luck for the future ones.

Yeah, never-ever-ever build on the floor. Also if you happen to, don't use the fantasy background. Use the turbo one instead.2010-11-06 18:54:00

I am sorry. One of my annoying habits is building on the floor. I think the level starts of above the floor, but gradually gets closer.. :/
Sorry for not using the tubro background. I thought they corrupted levels. Also where I lost my game save, I haven't played through the turbo pack again yet.

A lot of my quirks have already been stated, but another one are those sound effect speakers. Seeing them on those marshmallow blocks is kinda offsetting. Also, those music boxes have a visibility option, in case you didn't know. One last con, you're not using the thin layers enough, if you wanna make a level look good, the most simple way is to add abstact shapes to ALL the thin layers. I saw it here and there but it wasn''t consistent.

I did like you're characters and gameplay, nice and simple and pretty dang fun.

Thanks Silver! Handy feedback! I didn't realise the music boxes and SFXs were visible.

EDIT: If everyone wouldn't mind re-rating and/ hearting then I will republish

Hey you know i really like this level, Looks great and is really fun and not too short.

But i thought u were not going to finish this level yet, I bet you could make this level better by yourself if you fixed the things people have said went or look wrong.

If you don't want to change it that's fine but when you make your next level make sure you add a whole lot of corners and maybe try adding swirls of jelly or blobs on the front of the map like i did on Jelly world: snack attack
(only add them if your doing a jelly level).

Well a few tips from me are,

1.Corner edit a bit more, You are really good at corner editing but you can still improve a tiny bit on some rough edge's.
2.Use Every layer, The way your using the two thick layers is great how its not just one huge thick layer but you need to use the thin layers, The main reason i use two thick layers is to slot middle layer items in much easier, So add all layers to the level to make it look better.
3.The thing i really like about your levels is they are fun, I mean whats more fun than sliding in slippery jelly? Whats more fun than making a level about food? Well all i ask you is keep your levels so they play the same way but change up the obstacles a little bit each time so the people don't notice.
4.Make things invisible every time, the only switch that has any point in being seen is the grab switch(but not all the time).

Yea that's about it for my training today but if you take in all of that you will be making spotlighted levels.

(Also i wasn't yelling at all in this message just giving you advise)...(you will thank me later)

Here we GO!

This level was a bit of a mixed bag. While it was fun and enjoyable, it lacked that finesse that the best levels have. It seems like you have settled on corner editing instead of taken a bit more time to perfect it. Another problem I had, and that many others have, is that the floor is all too visible. It seems rushed...

On the other hand, it was a blast. I had a lot of fun going through the level. It's simple platforming, but it works. I have to admit that I laughed at the pickle guy. I found this level inspiring. I have played far too many great levels and it has greatly discouraged me, but it seems as though you are focused on gameplay. I'm not saying your level isn't great (well, it's good) but I found the flaws to be uplifting. (Please don't take this the wrong way...)

I gave it four stars, a heart and hearted you as a creator.

Could everyone please re-play, heart and rate? I've edited the level so you no longer see any SFX or Music so hopefully the level should look a bit nicer
I will begin work on Part 2 after I've finished LittleBigVid #2. (Probably some time today... who knows? Maybe I'll make some an include a clip in the episode?)

Fair enough. I think after Part 2 I may just start a completely different level.

I'm thinking an Aztec Platformer? A bit like Super Mario but Aztec?? But then I'm going a bit too Kindred aren't I?
I will happily make this level as long as people don't start on me saying I copied Kindred. What do you guys think I should do?
