Winch/Proximity Switch Help!

Archive: 5 posts

Hi all. I am hard at work on my second level (this one is slowly turning into something special guys) and I am having a problem with a winch/proximity switch combo. Without the prox switch the winch is obviously always active but when I attach the prox switch and grab onto the creature attached to the winch it only goes up half-way and then stops. If I let go it resumes it's course but everytime I grab on it only goes up half-way. If there is no prox switch attached then the winch works perfectly.

It is not the first time I am combining the prox switch with other objects so I am a bit annoyed that this time it is not working the way it should. Any ideas would be appreciated.

"creature attached to the winch"

are you using a grab switch and a motion switch to operate the winch, because if so then there is your problem the motion should work fine alone and the grab should work fine alone, to test it out just make a basic switch somewhere else in your level and once you have it figured out and made, just delete that one and recreate the revised version at the location you want it

just a wild guess but are you sure the winch's minimum length is what you want it to be. Seems like it may be a tad too big.

Thanks for all the replies although none of the solutions helped. It's OK though, I figured something else out.2008-11-01 00:44:00
