A few LBP2 Questions

Hello, I apologize if this is the wrong place to post this but I have a game in the works (in my head) that im starting to think isnt possible
so i wanted to ask a few quetions to you beta owners .

First off, Is it not possible to have a top down view of an acctual sackbot/sackboy?
you can only use created things to appear top down?

also it seems like you can make a item (i.e. sword) look like the sackboy is holding it is this true? and if so...would it work with a item that is casting light? (I.e.) a flashlight.

I wanted to know if these things were possible, so if not I can start to think up other ideas!

- It is not possible to have a "top view" Sackboy in normal terms. He will be in top view however when he sits in a controllinator.

- You cannot make a sword that Sackboy will hold in his hands. There is a DLC that countains a little sword that Sackboy is holding in his hand (avaialable in LBP1). You can however make a sword and a slashing effect appear when you press a certain button if you'd like.

To add to this, you can make an oject that has a mover set to follow on it so it MIGHT look like you are holding it. See the capture the flag vid. But it would be very fiddly.

okay lets say you use a sackboy.....how do I get an object i mede like the sword or flashlight to be atleaest near the sackboy, and move with him...I can understand how to get it to move at the same time as him...but how do I tell the game to spawn the sword or flashlight i made in axactly the right spot and then make it follow from there.....they do it on the capture the flag map i saw, but how is it done...just once the sackbot touches it, it then follows exactly in the way the sackbot touches it....for example if you jumped on top of the flag...wouldnt the flag then float near him at his feet instead of where u want it?2010-11-03 19:08:00

Most popular is use of follower, it's mover that follows specific point (nearest player or specific tag), ofcorse it can be turned off and on whatever you like with the logic.

This is how that flag level (you mean Nuclearfish one, right?) is working, i'm not sure how it's made but probably got follower on hologram with gyro (so it's stay on angle), when player goes near follower activity range (that can be tweaked) it starts to follow, player sensor detects player and pluged to score giver it gives points.

Also i notice one guy use that to make guns for sackbots in similar way, cardbox on follower... that do nothing since they only act as a target.

Other stuff like RPG concepts only use hologram animations for specific attack.

You also can change costume of sackbot by destroying old one and making new one.

There many ways how to solve that problem, all depends on your needs
