Pros:
- Good mix of horror and steampunk.. (not too horror, not too steampunk)
- The visuals fit the theme of the level nicely.
- I Liked the idea of bringing the checkpoint with u (Saving often)
- The limited light kept me careful and on the lookout for hazards, added a nice sense of tension to the level, especially when a flash of lighting suddenly reveals spikes and causes me to hit the brakes lol.

Cons:
- Would've been nice to be rewarded for dragging the checkpoint all that way.
- might have been good to use more than one song, the strings sounded a little repetative throughout the stage.
- more secret little side rooms (like the points room with the round window) would've helped to give the level more of a Maze feel
- some switches made things happen to sudden i.e: the water felt like it just vanished, maybe it was for a type of shock effect tho.

overall this level had a nice balanced feel to it

Unbelievably good job! I have to give credit where credit is due. From soup to nuts everything was tight. The logic was sound , the creation was seamless, even the music I thought gave it a feeling of anxiousness but most importantly it was fun. 5 STARS and i will heart your level and you.

I was not sure what to expect when I read the title and queued it up to play. Not sure what the whole 'steampunk' thing means, but what the heck...

First thing noticed is the atmosphere and it was done perfectly. I thought the lightning effects were spot on and the use of lights to illuminate the way when you did not have the checkpoint with you was again, spot on. Your level design was okay, not the best (I wouldn't necessarily call it a maze as it seemed pretty direct), but it was completely shadowed by the environment and atmosphere, I just didn't care. Graphically it was superb. I normally like a ton of detail but this one didn't have that. But the way the lighting was and occasional flash of lightning to illuminate things the mansion felt authentic. It was good!

Your spider was also a highlight! Very good. The only thing I noticed was a visible piston on the floor that rises where the spider was. Not sure if its intentional or not.

I gave it :star::star::star::star::star: and a <3

In the context it's used in here, it's an art style, but it can be applied to other things (i.e books, movies, etc.) I gave the link to the art section of the article because that is the context it is used in here, but you can read the whole article for amore general definition.

Back on topic, I'll check this out for sure, I love this type of theme!

Feedbakz!!!

LOVED this level right from the start. Horror level are hard to pull off right, but this one did it superbly. I would have liked a little more steampunk in the mix, but what the hey. Echoing John, it wasn't so much of a maze as just a puzzler/platformer, only a few times I didn't know where to go. The gameplay was fun, taking the checkpoint around with you was interesting, and the lights showing where to put the ball made it easy to see even in the dark. My only minor critiscm is the lightning. I thought it was a bit too bright, and it felt ike I was playing in broad daylight when the lightning flashed. That's just me, but I would like to see it dimmed down a bit.

Overall, a 5 star level, I really enjoyed it!

Pros:
+Lighting and sound effects were dead on
+Carrying checkpoint was a fresh idea
+Liked the spider and floating furnature
+Cut scenes were implemented perfectly
+The layering design of the ship at the end was really nice
Cons:
-Liked the music, maybe a twist in melody or bassline at certain points of the level ( like when falling )
-No part 2

in summary, excellent job, polished work---->5 star and heart

iIn summary, excellent job, polished work---->5star and heart

Is not having a part 2 directly after your part 1 really a con? That's the problem in a nut shell with some of these levels out there. Regurgitated levels being turned out like a poo factory. This level in it's genre was flawless. Period

It was more or less a compliment.The level was so good that i wished for a part 2....no need to get offended.

Thank you so much to everyone for there feedback so far.
I have done a few updates following your advise.

- Lightning has been dimmed and added a bit more fog so its not as drastic of a flicker.
-The water drainage time has been increased so it's not so sudden.
-I put in a second music track to help break up the same tone. My problem with the music is that all other tracks give it a more upbeat tune, and I it spoils the mood. Hopefully the switch to a different track near the end helps to solve too much repetition.

Once again, Thank you to everyone. I wish to make this level as great as possible and I am trying my best to use every suggestion for the better.

Had no problems.
Oh, some of the dissolve walls/floors had no stickers/decorations, but the level did the "failed to load" the first time, so that may have been the cause.
Another decent level.

Hey there. A nice and unique level. I really enjoyed the checkpoint gameplay, to me that was unique and fun. Something different! I enjoyed the whole feel of it too. The only feedback I coulkd really give was that I wish there was more variations and the level transitions because after a while it became a little predictable...i.e put the checkpoint on the light, leave the light and pull a 2 way swiitch which lifts wall, go back to checkpoint and carry on. But other than that a great conceot which was excecuted quite nicely. I would be interest to see what you would do in a sequel.
