Multi-Input Logic - for Luos_Desruc

Archive: 1 post

Ok, I checked back on one of my old threads and Luos_Desruc had posted and had said something like:

"Is there a way to trigger an output when it has 2 inputs (multi )?)

Yessir there is!

Now being the super-awesome person he is he probably would've found out a way himself but I have my own way which I'd like to share to all young budding little sackfolk. So, in the form of a step-by-step tutorial, here it is:

LBPC Logics needed:

AND switch (with as many pistons as inputs you have )
Delay switch (i'll explain later)*optional)

I think that's it...

Okay... sorry, I can't upload pics of what you do so try to follow it as best you can

Might try to add pics in an update

1) Put a TAG SENSOR (mag key switch) on every thing you use as an input (e.g. a grabable block used to slide into place) as opposed to a TAG KEY (mag key) You need to set the trigger radius to something that makes it within range of the TAG KEY (next step) when moved to activate it. Set the TAG SENSORS to the Directional setting
2) Put a TAG KEY on the thing the TAG SENSOR's object is slid into. Make sure they are of corresponding colour (TAG KEY and SENSOR)
3) Now whip a handy AND switch out from your popit (if you saved it as an object some time) Attach a wire from each TAG SENSOR to a piston (you need one with a piston for every TAG SENSOR as said in 'You will Need' section) Now, following the 'block' example, if you push the blocks (and TAG SENSORS) into range of the TAG SWITCH you will notice it activates the AND switch.

Rewind.

4) Now get a Delay switch. Set it to no Flipper Motion if it has one.
5) Tricky bit. Decide what you're using the switch for. If it's to open a random door, direction. For the purpose of this exercise we're going to use Speed. Enter your setting of choice into the TAG SENSOR on the Delay switch. Then tweak the radius to nearly cover the TAG KEY (but it can't UNLESS you want the setting to be speed and you want the item to be spinning before you activate it and for the spinning to speed up when you do activate it, in which case you can make it go over the switch and make it start at your desired speed) Note: you don't ABSOLUTELY need the Delay switch, you can just activate the final output from the AND switch's TAG SENSOR. You could also have a permanent switch instead, to make the AND switch's output last. The choice is yours
6) Okay, say I want a square to start spinning I'd make a square, get some dark matter (in case you don't know, triangle shape uses slightly less thermo) in the thin layer behind it and attach a motor bolt. Then attach the wire from the Delay switch's TAG SENSOR to the bolt.

Test time! Push the blocks into range of the TAG KEY and observe. Hopefully your square should spin faster.

Luos, if you haven't solved the question before this and it doesn't work, sorry. I haven't tested this as I came up with the theory as I switched off my PS3 for the night and I came to type it straight away so I wouldn't forget. That is also why there are no pics Sorry 'bout that, I'll fix it when I get the chance. And I'll test it

If you are a bit of this:

Never be afraid to ask me on PSN to show you an example or PM me for more detail. Or wait for pics So so sorry if it doesn't work. It was just an idea that hit me when I was trying to solve the problem and switched off my PS3. I'll test it when next online.

Thanks, and I hope this solves the question I was confronted with on the thread. Look for my thread 'Magnetic key: Extra setting' to find Luos' original post. See ya, guys!
