Unknown Level Showcase - Episode 1

Archive: 30 posts

Hello and Welcome to the very first Unknown Level Showcase!

If you didn't already know, our aim is to bring you a list of 10, very underplayed levels hidden in ever growing world of the LittleBigPlanet Community!
All levels here are over a month old, have less than 1000 plays, and are truly awesome!
So less of the chit-chat, lets get on with the list........

Another Reflection -Mourning- by encens 73 hearts 399plays

TonyTwoGunz
Another Reflection is made by japanses creator encens and has a gret blend of stylish visuals and gameplay. From the levels beginning in a very detailed room with a piano, a walk down the corridor takes you to an entirely different place. This level will not disappoint and is a pleasure to play from start to finish.

Time + Time (part 2) by Assassin7177 33 hearts 224 plays

tom230889
What these levels may lack in game play, they more than make up for it in beauty, and attention to detail. Walking through the 'Long Forgotten', you feel a sense of emptiness, but I promise that by the time you reach the end of part 1, you will want to play part 2, AND YOU SHOULD!

Description-Time
Controlling the Time with the help of magical portals and make your way through the long forgotten.
Video- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAtv_yBuHUw

Description-Time (part 2)
One of the time portals has been destroyed and so also with the balance of time. Find a way that already happened to reverse.

Rolled by J-Jayster 25 hearts 117 plays

tom230889
Of all the levels i chose this month, 'Rolled' is my favourite, and J-Jayster is one of the reasons that I wanted to do this Showcase. With 7 amazing levels already, Rolled is his best work. With challenging game play, and stunning visuals, this is what LBP was made for.

Description
Venture through an underground facility, and take with you a ball that opens doors, keeps you from dying, and overall helps you get through the level! Enjoy! 1-2 players recommended.

Artifact Hunter by AGACY 81 hearts 636 plays

TonyTwoGunz
Brilliant design and fun gameplay throughout make this a pleasure to play. With so many artifacts to find theres never a dull moment in this level and the carefully thought out puzzles and obstacles make them alot of fun to find, and the custom switches are a nice little touch too! Overall this level is a great adventure and multi player friendly which is always good!

Description
Try to find every last one of the hidden ancient artifacts in this stunning platformer full of puzzles and secrets.

The rainy season by NEXTNEXUS 92 hearts 515 plays

TonyTwoGunz
From the very beginning when you start in a swimming frogs mouth, you just know this is going to be good.
Wether your swinging on an umbrella, jumping on frogs, or taking a ride on a snail, this level does not disappoint.
You will not be able to play this without a smile on your face, its just a shame the creator has not made more levels really.

Video- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axLgqdO9PBs

Description
raining, raining, how is it raining rain a little more mother bring my umbrella it can rain and pour pit-a-pat-a pit-a-pat-adrip,drop,drip,drop.

LOST WORLD (the lost world) by azuki-in-kome 65 hearts 335 plays

tom230889
A beautiful post-apocalyptic styled level, were the scenery and gameplay blend together to create a world you can loose yourself in. 4 player friendly, but just make sure you don't squish your friends with falling rocks, unless your feeling evil that is.

Description
(Japanese description sorry)

The Wooden Tower by rickyhong02 41 hearts 170 plays

TonyTwoGunz
Everyone loves a good level made from wood and this one fits right in that category. The clean and simple look works very well here along with some nice neat sticker work, and excellent use of all the layers. A really fun race level to enjoy with your friends, and you will enjoy this one.

Description
Race your way through a vibrant mechanical tower filled platforming and various obstacles. Can you reach the top?

Video- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wx1WcbAsmHo

Highway Onslaught (1P ONLY) by Aspherex 27 hearts 92 plays

tom230889
A scrolling top down level that will leave you saying 'WOH!' and will have your jaw on the floor. This is the type of shooter that I was waiting to play on LBP2, so how on earth its possible to make on LBP just completely befudles me. A must Play!

Description
Battle in an armoured jeep against trucks, motorbikes and helicopters set against stunning scrolling and 3D backdrops. For 1P only.

Here is a thread started by thor, for this level-

Beautiful Dream by marine_kodama 20 hearts 114 plays

TonyTwoGunz
Although this is quite short the creator manages to fit in some very nice visuals and gameplay. It really feels like a dream as you make your way across the various obstacles built up in the night sky. A really relaxing level that is fun for anyone to play.

Description
(some Japanese text) You will have a nice time tonight.

Thats it for this month. I hope you enjoyed reading about and watching the videos on all the levels. Don't forget to play the levels with all your friend and maybe post a comment on the level, who knows, it might make the creator sooo happy, thay make more awesome levels!

Oh, and if you want to find all these levels easier, search LittleBigPlanet for LBPC_Unknown, or our introduction level 'Unknown Level Showcase: Introduction'. All levels named here will be found on the hearted list.

Thank you all for reading! Hope to see you all again next month

You could use some of the special BBCode used by the spotlighters to make it look more organized. Look in BBCode help or something along those lines.2010-11-01 16:17:00

Great work guys! - Really proud. ^_^

It's a nice change to see creators that aren't on LBPC getting spotlighted at least somewhere. I hope some unknown creators get more and more plays this way!

Keep up the good work!

Looks like a list of great levels! I'll try to play some here and there.

Some constructive criticism: Have the other person or somebody outside of the spotlight proofread it. I saw a couple of spelling errors in there. Nothing much but it really does help. Polish is always a bonus!

Keep up the good work, looking forward to the next installment.

Very well made, Loved it ^___^ though a tip from me, add a little color maybe to some sections to make it look more catchy if you know what i mean, but other than that its perfect, great job guys

And btw i know you guys are going step by step but keep an eye out there, you missed alot of really epic levels by underated creators out there. Le me mention a few...

-Crazy Tito (though idk if hes underrated)
-Sweetrejection
-Lone_fenix
-Bloo_boy
and there is this one lvl made by a creator, its a christmas level and its pretty good, its from a new creator (forgot his name) so check that out when you get a chance ^__^
And there more, ill send to ya on a pm or something.

Great job cant wait till next month

Haha, very nice guys. The only one of these that I've played so far is "rainy season" and man was it charming, just like you guys reviewed it. I'm going online to play these other ones now. Keep up the good work!2010-11-06 02:25:00

Purple*, I might be completely wrong but I'm guessing you mea "Frozen Village" by Fotosynthesis1. That was an amazing level and so was "Spike World" and his other levels. I'm not sure whether he's underrated or not, but he is an amazing creator.2010-11-06 03:56:00

Awesome work guys, and just a small suggestion (like tanrockstan34 mentioned) is to get someone to proofread the writing for grammar and spelling mistakes.

I hope to be able to check a few of these out later.

So, this may sound weird but, can we present ourselves for this ?
xD I have some tech demos and survivals, I don't know if it counts or not .
It's just that I CAN'T make a level :<.
