Good Grief?

Archive: 8 posts

Hi I'm henred, you dont have to reply to this, these are just some questions I have with good grief.

I have owned lbp for more then a year already but I have never used the good grief button so far, and I dont really find any reason for it, cant players just kick out a player if they are acting rude and anoying or just plain dumb. Anyway I want to know what happens if you do good grief someone and what happens to the player that gets good griefed? What happenes to you if you good grief someone but the player isnt doing anything wrong? How bad has to be the activity in order to have the potential to be good griefed? Is there any long term effects? Hope some reply but you dont have to. Also have you ever good griefed someone? Thanks.

Good Grienf is normally for levels, but you can Good Grief players too.
When you good grief something/ someone is normally for something "inapproriate, such as having something from rather "mature themes" in that level/ on their costume.

OF course you can grief for advertisement (such as for an actual product and such.), copyright (if you own it) and some other stuff you deem "inappropriate."

When you grief something/ someon, it takes an picture of the area where you are, where the "griefed costume/ area of the level (unless its everywhere, then just grief whatever) and continue your report, the inapproriate level will be moderated (if deemed "inaprorpiate by the ones who check the grief reports.) and costumes/ users may get temp/ perma-banned from PSN.

Its not obligatory, and its normal to not having to use the Grief button, but if yoy deem something "bad/ inappropriate," don't hesitate to use it, as long as you don't unfairly grief things, you'll have no trouble.

(Be warned tho, that griefing for no reason constantly WILL get you in trouble for false reporting, with Temp/ Perma-bans, which may vary depending on the situation.

Hope that helps!

Does something have to be good griefed to get moderated? Because 2 of my pods have been moderated seemingly for no reason. I can't use them at all. 2010-11-01 21:31:00

Well, one of my levels was good griefed... One of the characters in the level said 'Wow, what a jerk. Here, I'll help you' but the second day of being published, all I saw was '************************************************* ************'... people over-use the good grief application. The only time I've ever used it was to get back at someone who gave me a bad comment on my level (yes, i know, very immature but this was back a long time ago)2010-11-01 21:54:00

Warning: I do not work for Sony, so this is a little speculative.

In addition to moderating levels, Sony have the ability to moderate user-created objects/stickers. If an object/sticker is marked as moderated, then any levels (or pods) which use those items is also marked as moderated, so the only explanation is that your pods used a sticker which was moderated.
