Global Lighting sensor broken?

Archive: 7 posts

For some reason the sensor will only turn on, not off. Even tryed hooking up a toggle switch, but the same thing happens.
Is there away to this or something?
I'm trying to get it to go pitch black with the press of a button, then bright as day with the same press of button.

Simply make a second one with the brightness, and toggle in-between the two. You could never actually turn one off.2010-11-01 00:09:00

I have done that, and it seems to work, but not if I want it to go to darkness again.

Use a selector with two ports, hook up the outputs to the global lighting objects, and hook up the button to the cycle input. Now when you push the button, it'll switch between light and dark.2010-11-01 01:13:00

I'm afraid that doesn't work.

I had put a selector down and tweaked it so it had 2 inputs and 2 outputs. I then put 2 Global lighting sensors down, 1 with complete darkness, and the other with brightness.

I then hooked up the first output of the selector to the darkness Global Lighting, and the 2nd one to the bright Global Lighting. I then hooked up my Square button to the cycle. So I tested it and when I press square it went to brightness (as it was already dark due to the first selector being the the first one on) but when I hit square again it did not go back to darkness.

very strange, I used the same logic - selector with 2 port, triangle button to it cycle port and two world lighting sensors with different tweaks and I have day and night instantly (I tweak light transition time to zero) .
