?ropulse Demo now on BETA (Video now up)

Just a heads up guys but a taste of my project ?ropulse has finally been published.

Its basically just a showcase of some of the abilities that will be used in the gameplay and a reveal of the entire Royal District of New Ven?ro Thx for all the support up until now guys. That includes everyone from IF and especially Energy Ray and Dragonvarsity for help in the BETA. Special thanks to HardSync for the use of his song"The Last Firefly"

This is a vid recorded and posted by Cog Have to give him a huge thx. The gameplay in the vid is not a full representation of the full potential of the freerunning capabilities in the game (i.e backflips, gainers, vaults etc). This is NOT Cog's fault but mine due to the way I presented the control scheme. I will give a FULL tutorial of how to control the characters. Again, thanks alot Cog for the vid ^^

Just played it (well sort of). And it was awesome. Just some problems I ran into.

"threatens" was misspelled during the movie. It was written as "threatenes".

I opened up that trap door thing and fell down and lost the sackbot (since they can't swim) and I was stuck in the controlinator and couldn't do anything. That's when I stopped. xD Very cool idea though. And I'll be honest. I only played it because of "Aero" xD. I'm sure glad I did though. ^o^

it was great...except i dont see my sidequest lol lol jk

anyways I think you should change the R3 mid-air dash to something else...i literally for the life of me couldn't replicate it at will it would be based on luck to do it

also the attack animations seem to clutter up if you keep tapping the attack...so maybe a way to dissolve fast or something

anyways loved the world, the ambience, the music, and the story...and will be looking foward to seeing this when you get LBP2 (specially that sidequest lololol)

Hmm, I think it may just be the way that you are doing it. You have to hold X when jumping then press L3 while moving the left stick in the desired direction its actually quite smooth if you practice it a bit When you master that, you can combine it with flips with either L2 or R2. I did it this way so that there really is a level of skill required to use your character in innovative ways ^^ That will b useful in multipla-... >_> I've spoken too much... lol
As for the attacks, the attacking system is still under some development. You may be right about the slashes though. I will see what I can do ^^

well maybe you have another button that is currently unmapped that you could put the mid-air dash in as well to let others check out to see if they like it?

idk lol wasn't aware you had to hold X button i dont think the tutorial tells you but ill try again and hopefully its more fluid

anyways loved the R3 stick camera movement was pretty intriguing

The two button idea sounds good Sorry about the tutorial but the sequencer and magic mouths started acting up and I didn't go as in depth as I should have for such a dynamic control scheme. lol I think forgot to say that you can toggle the HUD with left on the D pad too. I was just in such a rush to FINALLY get this this thing out to the community to show that I was not all bark and no bite if you know what I mean lol the free camera logic was actually kind of easy. I'm playing it right now (for the third time). It looks very good, but I never respawn when my Sackbot dies (when I fall down into water ). So I restart. I'll try not to die this time, to really enjoy it, as this demo looks very neat and studied! 2010-11-06 19:21:00

Thx man ^^ The sackbot really does respawn, it just takes a little bit longer than desired >_> lol I tried my best to improve it but it was the best I could do. Im still glad that you are continuing to replay it though ^^ There's lots more to come in the full version of LBP2 so hope this so I am happy that this little taste is exciting everyone Love that Sherlock sig btw

Hey, sorry it took me 6 days until I found this thread but I've found it Well, the first time I recorded for it was when you didnt add beginning cutscene and putting controls. I'll try to record it again. Too bad it won't upload on youtube. Well I am currently using an emittier that is set to emit a new bot right when the current bot is destroyed. No idea y it has the ridiculous delay. What do u guys think?

Absolutely I love this project! Being able to be part of it just made it that much better too. In the first game I always played alone because when I would play levels with people that I didn't know there was always someone who ruined the experience. I didn't find this site until just a few months ago but just sat on the sidelines because I wasn't sure how a newcomer would be welcomed. To my delight everyone here is great and just looking at all the work people do here and how everyone helps each other has made me start wanting to try creating something but I am waiting for the new game and just brainstorming. Wow I got so off topic lol. January needs to get here so I can play the game and this project can really take off. And where are all the girls at? I still haven't seen anyone interested in voicing the female characters. That is so above my head because this is something people should aspire to be a part of!

Set emit time on 0.0 or 0.1, if it's not working try use detect destruction by the inverted tag sensor and use one shot on emitter

Okay, well aparently there's a setting for the Pinnacle Studio 14 vids to upload to youtube, just gotta find how to to change it exactly. Also, I've found out how to upload snapshots with the cature card so that's good ^^ Sorry I still can't uplad videos yet, thanks Cog for recording the Aeropulse demo, I'd hate to keep the other fans waiting. 2010-11-15 14:23:00

Lol thx alot pal. You know, when I started this project, I never thought that I would receive so much support from the community ^^ Just gotta say thx to all of you guys ya know. Oh and as reassurance I haven't forgotten about that multiplayer guys. I had to take a little break to catch up with school and other things though. I want to get it published by Christmas though hopefully. I am also going to try to post some cool screenshots on this post or in a new one to really show of some freerunning and fighting eye-candy >

Wow, is the L3 thing that challenging? O.o OHH!!! I make sure that you are pressing X along with L3 to ?roshift guys as well as when you are trying to perform flips Tooootallly my bad :/ As for the respawn issue, you will respawn. It just takes a while for some reason :/ Hope to have that fixed in the final build.

I saw the video and it looks awesome, but I have 1 suggestion:
It would be pretty cool if you made the character run faster (Sackbots have a speed setting right?)

lol funny that you say that because if you hold L3 while running, you can accelerate your speed. My fault for not fully explaning the controls AGAIN lol Thats it, I am so making a tutorial level before the multiplayer one to solve all of these problems 2010-11-29 22:28:00
