Yes, it's that time of the fortnight again folks! This week we have another motley collection of awesome levels to play for you, so - enjoy!

PS3 Spotlight

The Cow Inc.scuzzy1973/scuzzy1973
http://i654.photobucket.com/albums/uu270/tanrockstan34/LittleBigPlanet/TheCowInc_.jpgThere is a cow that owns a factory and a jetpack... It's a survival challenge where you have to run, jump and grab; making sure you don't fall into the horrible gas or fiery coals.

A smoothly spectacular and epically enjoyable survival challenge, this pacy level will have you leaping, shooting, yelling, sweating, diving, swinging, jumping - the whole kaboodle, as you attempt to clamber over the obstacles rushing at you at ever increasing speeds while dodging the hordes of chillies falling from above - if, of course, you're not distracted by the excellent visuals along the way!
Frantical, frenzical (are those even words?) fun will overcome in this zany survival challenge. If you are reading this while you play, you are probably sitting at the scoreboard already because the action takes a break for nobody! Don't give up though, give it another go (it has an excellent replay value). This time make sure you hop, drop, jump, and flop over the obstacles until the cows come home! Oh... did somebody mention that this also won a... crown?
Winner of the LBL 4 in 1 Survival? Heck yes. And it deserves it too... this level is freaking gorgeous! Shafts of sunlight come somewhere out of sight, and gears spin madly in the background. The concept is simple: a very rich cow with a jetpack runs a... well, a survival game filled with crazy obstacles (you know the type, perhaps?). It's a conveyor-belt-type challenge... but so much better. The randomization is seamless. And just when you think the challenge couldn?t get better, the cow starts dropping chili peppers on your head! Want some? Try it out!Scuzzy1973's sublime survival challenge is an absolute blast. Its frantic and varied game play that's constantly changing challenges you to shoot for a higher score with each successive run. As time goes on and the level gains momentum, new obstacles are quite literally thrown into the mix as peppers begin to rain from the sky and the conveyor sets a punishing speed. All these great elements are glued together with awesome style and visuals. What do you get when you put all of these amazing elements together? A level that wins crowns, that's what!Mechanical EngineeringMr_T-Shirt/Mr_T-Shirt
http://i654.photobucket.com/albums/uu270/tanrockstan34/LittleBigPlanet/MechanicalEngineering.jpgPlatform your way through the industrial world of Mechanical Engineering! 1P Works best.

Mechanical Engineering... a project filled with nuts and bolt that has everything you could ever want in a factory... and more! Shifting platforms (including one you control... perhaps to your peril!), conveyor belts, smashy things, gears, steam, and METAL! One thing that separates this from other factory levels, though, is the visual masterpiece it is. Use of inlaid and overlayed metals and chain link fence, as well as fantastic lighting, make this level look absolutely great! Mr_T-Shirt puts a clever spin on the conveyor belts at one point, dropping them into a horrendous abyss of gas! Almost equally as fun? A mechanical bouncy pit! Thought you were getting tired of factory levels? Well, no more! This one's a must-play!The moment you pop through that checkpoint you hear (obviously) Battles! (What good steampunk, industrial, gear head level wouldn't have it?) There is also an intricately designed background with cogs and a rusty elevator for you to ascend. Nothing falls flat in this outstanding work of art. From the intro to the last bit of gameplay; factory-esque smog, lighting, and noises deck the metal halls. Where the level gets its name? The visuals may have a had a part but the name is definitely derived from it's challenging fun gameplay! It is certainly mechanical in every aspect and the level makes you feel like an underpaid, mistreated engineer as you hop and dodge danger. Pick up a controller and have a great time!Grimy, rusty and utterly authentic-looking, this is a rush through a brilliantly decorated factory full to the brim with emitting, rotating, flipping obstacles. Watch your step, don't get lost amongst the pipes and vents, and good luck!Factory levels often take on that gritty and rusted look, but not many manage to capture the perilous feeling as well as Mr T-Shirt's does. The harsh lighting mixed with dirty, cold materials makes for a great environment as you platform your way through some very well designed hazards. Make sure you check this one out!

The Hidden Forest 2se-mi92/se-mi92
http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=25593&d=1287511330The sequel to "The hidden Forest". This platformer level is maybe not very hard but it can be a bit tricky for some players.

This is one of those levels with just the right level of atmosphere. Cool shades of blue and carefully illuminated flowery decorations work awesomely together, and the gameplay incorporated into the environment is authentic and easy to get your head around. I particularly liked the waterfall effect - waterfalls have been done in so many ways in LBP1 and this one is as unique as the rest.
If you have ever been in that situation where you have to name three things to describe... something?
Holguin: Quick Tan! Name three things to describe this level!
Tan: Ubiquitous lighting! Dazzling details! Phenomenal gameplay!
Because I have! You are sure to be please about all of the sights you see and the detritus you have to hop over! It is so fantastically lit, that you would think you were at a soiree.
I want to know why this forest is hidden from me. I must find it. I must. But until then, I?ll just have to have a gad through it on my PS3 with my trusty Sackboy! This level is very, very pretty. Very. Very pretty. Pretty. Very. I think you get the idea. Simply magnificent use of fog, lighting, and colors! The plant life is just so... varied and beautiful and joyful! Some of my favorite highlights were when I grabbed a sponge and flowers fell from it, or when I rolled down a hill on a log! It's a blast! Sadly, this level isn't very long, but that should by no means stop you from enjoying it. Give it a go!Good lighting really can make or break a level. Being able to properly and artistically light up your levels is an enviable skill, and one that se-mi92's got down pat. Fantastic atmosphere, fun gameplay, and flawless lighting all come together to make this flowering forest something truly special.

Time Bandits of the Holy LandMicGorbachev/MicGorbachev
http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=25731&d=1287809335Your friend and mentor, Professor Headcase, has finally finished his time machine. Travel back to the year 586bc, find the Ark of the Covenant, and bring back its contents.

Finally, a great time travel level that doesn't involve gassing of the player!MicGorbachev has worked wonders with this level, seamlessly transporting you back in time (and forwards again) with quirky, simplistic visuals and an engaging story. It's all rounded off with an awesomely difficult boss - I bet you can't guess who it is ...
A fun gad for everybody (especially Bible lovers!). Although, it is really more of a multi-dimensional warp through time and space it self to save the whole of the UNIVERSE! (So maybe not!) You will be welcomed by an uncanny character though who wants you to recover the Ark of the Covenant! As easy as a task it may seem, the fast paced action and the terrifying Babylonians will make this a daunting task. The visuals are nothing to laugh at. There is a beautifully carved desert landscape. Great detail withing the towering temple. Subtle lighting in the underground caverns. Speaking of the caverns; they provide an wonderful element of backtracking that is getting harder and harder to find these days. The ending... that will be for you to find out!
You?d think with a name like ?Time Bandits,? MicGorbachev?s level would send you back to a jungle filled with dinosaurs. But it doesn?t! (And let me just say... I?m also very happy his time machine didn?t employ the kill-teleport trick... it felt so much better without it.) So this time machine sends you back to Jerusalem to find the Ark of the Covenant. You?re greeted immediately by a cleverly crafted camel, battled by Babylonians (it doesn?t make a lot of sense, but who cares?!), and forced to climb a tower (I ran out of alliteration ideas...) to find the Ark. The level is a challenge, too; at several points you will be hard pressed not to get burned! And the end boss is hilarious. Time Bandits is just all-around great... and you should go play it right now! You're not supposed to mess with history for a reason. That's the lesson I learned from MicGorbachev's great level, anyhow! After you've been sent back in time to retrieve a holy relic you'll come across some very authentic architecture and some awesome game play. But beware, once you complete your quest and return from the past things aren't exactly the way you left them...

Also from the Showcase...

PSP Spotlight

Carniverous CavesHellobob5/Hellobob5
http://i900.photobucket.com/albums/ac207/tross13/Spotlights/PSP%20Spotlight%2051/2010-10-29-012.pngExplore dark caves and find your way out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1xwZCbXUdA

Take equal parts jackofcourse and VelcroJonze mix well until point bubbles appear. Place underground and allow to rise. When ready to be downloaded and declared awesome, garnish with grab winches and switch puzzles. Serve on a hot Community Moon with a side of stars and hearts and enjoy! It's been a while since one author has had two levels Spotlighted in the same episode, but Hellobob5 proves he is a creator to be reckoned with. If you are like me, gameplay is the most important ingredient in 'a great level recipe', and this is the most fun I had playing a level all week. But don't ignore the beautiful visuals, highlighted by some gorgeous corner editing. There's blind paths, hidden areas, and bubbles to find for the high score chasers. Be sure to grab this one.Cave levels are pretty clich? in LBP, but there's nothing wrong with a fantastic level like this. Original platforming and simple switches make up the bulk of gameplay, and you'll be scampering around lovely, dank environments on the way. You'll never look at a cave level the same way!ElementalHellobob5/Hellobob5
http://i900.photobucket.com/albums/ac207/tross13/Spotlights/PSP%20Spotlight%2051/2010-10-29-013.pngA journey through the Elements. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KmLqHe0OfEM

As we're still reeling from Carniverous Caves, Hellobob5 catches us off-guard with a surprise one-two Spotlight punch. Elemental comes straight out of left field with a unique style and some hands-down fantastic gameplay. In addition to all of the other awesome sauce contained in this level, you simply have to check out the corner editing work on the font. It's the little things that make good levels great.Hellobob5 makes it two for two in the Spotlight with this serene journey through the elements. Slick level designs with great platforming and gameplay abound in this unforgettable trek through the elements.A beautiful level sees Hellobob slip into the Spotlight a second time - and this is just as fantastic as the last! A variety of visuals and gameplay are in store when you download this one, and you'll enjoy everything from the opening title to the well decorated scoreboard.Imagi-CorpFastbro/Fastbro
http://i900.photobucket.com/albums/ac207/tross13/Spotlights/PSP%20Spotlight%2051/2010-10-29-010.pngWelcome to Imagi-Corp! The place where dreams are made! (Literally!) As an employee of this vast organization, it's your job to help preserve and protect the mighty Imagisphere at any cost! ...Well? Hop to it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--JJlBXdM44

Holy smashed together community levels, Batman! Fastbro has gone and done it again, this time with an approach I've never quite seen before. Chase a mysterious (and poorly made) villain across the Imagisphere, enjoying plenty of "Hmm, have I been here before?" moments along the way. Don't spend too much time cracking up at all the jokes, however, because the fabric of imagination is starting come apart at the seams and it's up to you to repair it!Fastbro steps up to the plate, takes a swing, and hits a home run with his latest offering to the community moon. A fun poke at some other community levels done with Fastbro's trademark style. See if you can spot them all. Hilarious dialogue, amazing sticker work, and unique gameplay.... this level is a total package that will make you smile.Ever wondered what would happen if you smashed together community levels and the result had rabies? No? Well Fastbro is here to show you anyway, and you'll be happy he brought this clever, funny level to us! Save the Imagisphere before it's too late in this wonderful level with some challenging gameplay.[Lovely Winter]happyface4/happyface4
http://i900.photobucket.com/albums/ac207/tross13/Spotlights/PSP%20Spotlight%2051/2010-10-29-011.pngWander out of the snowy forest to reunite with your loved one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71nqOEKD7tY

Calm, soothing tones and sharp, action-packed platforming punctuate this stark but stunning level by happyface4. High score seekers will be coming back for more plenty of times on this level, but casual one-time gamers will love it too. Oh, and don't forget to [jump -->].
Limbo is one of my favorite games ever on X-Box live, so I was very interested in playing a level based on it. Beautiful in its simplicity, with subtle colors, and haunting atmosphere .... sometimes less is more. This being a race level, be sure to play it at least twice to soak in all the refined but gorgeous visuals. It's rare after a year in the game to come across a level so new and visually superb as this. I've never seen some of the visual effects employed as well as they are here, so you must go [play] this level now. Be prepared to [jump] your way through this beautiful level! Congratulations to everyone that got spotlighted this time around, looks like a lot of great levels. A tiny amount of PS3 levels spotlighted this time around, the beta must have a big impact on level publishing.

Once again, thank you spotlight team for all of your hard work that you do to make this.

Congrats to all spotlighted creators! Even though the list is small, those levels chosen are still of amazing quality! I suppose everyone's polishing up their LBP2 creating skills. Can't wait to spotlight levels from it once it comes out.

Alright! My epic series finale of "The Hero Chronicles" made a spotlight [even though it's in honorable mention]. I guess the LBP2 beta made most of the creators too busy to make levels that the list is really short. I would like to thank everybody who beta tested part 1 for the effort of testing it and I definitely want to thank L1GhTmArE, Sabre_, and Midnight_heist for all the help I need to make my last two LBP1 levels even more epic. I also want to thank all the LBPC members for all the inspirations and encouragements.
Awesome episode spotlight crew. You sure had a lot of fun looking for hard to find exciting levels while everyone else is beta testing LBP2. I think my level plus "The Magical Factory", "Honey Hive Redux", and "Resident Raytech" should be in the normal spotlight even if the list is short [It's my suggestion though]. Thank you very much LBPC crew.

Sorry for the short spotlight this week! I found them particularly fun though and we keep pouring ours souls into this no matter what.

From my perspective, because it was short we were able to get more comments in. I know that makes people happy so I'm happy!

Looking into the future, LBP2 will definitely be a blast to spotlight, especially with some of the already magnificent levels games in the beta.

Congrats to all who made it! A great (if a bit short) spotlight once again!

I think the LBP Beta is actually good for some of us, all of the big, well known creators are in the beta which lets us lesser known creators shine! It reminds me of when the meteorite killed the dinosaurs, and the small mammals dominated the land! Although when LBP2 comes out I have the feeling we'll be back at the bottom of the food chain....

If anyone is disappointed about the length of the spotlight, then think of this as a time to go back and catch up on the levels you didn't get around to playing from the previous spotlights!

Or even have a little play with the spangly new spotlight search engine from the 50th spotlight http://spotlight.lbpcentral.com/

Hey all,

Thanks again for putting forth another set of excellent levels week after week. If you keep this up, I may never get another game again...well, except for LBP2 that is. I had fun playing these levels, so you're all winners in my eyes. Congrats to those who made it, and for those who didn't, keep growing: I know you'll make it someday!

Thanks everyone for the support; it makes this job worth it.

Congratulations to everyone who got spotlighted, it's always a joy to see creators get some recognition for great levels. Out of curiosity did my level miss the deadline? I think it was put up before wednesday, but I may be mistaken? ANYWHO, great job to the spotlight team and we are all crossing our fingers that the next one will feature more people who can get away from the lbp2 beta 2010-11-01 15:13:00

Oh, hey, great work on your level! Yeah, you didn't miss the deadline. I certainly enjoyed it, though, and if you keep it up you'll be in the Spotlight in no time!

Bit shorter this time for PS3 (I don't read PSP, I don't have one >.<), but they all look great! Looks like I'll be using the new 'My Queue' feature for the first time 2010-11-01 18:38:00

I never actually realised that having a spotlight was such an honour! I know that the levels are in no perticular order but my level is at the top! Yaaayyy!!
Even though that level hardly has any plays at all, it's getting me alot of publicity
Congrats to the other guys too. And Hellobob5, a double spotlight! You must feel very proud xD xD xD

Anyway, I'm thinking of starting an actual adventure level for The Cow Inc., perhaps I'll make it on the BETA. Oh I have so many levels planned

They come highly recommended by me anyway!

Will there be any special features for the next Spotlight? No. 52 will mark two years of spotlights, maybe you could bring back some old members of the team or something?

What? You want MORE bonus material? I guess two years is quite a milestone but we've already squeezed as many bonus features as we can out of Episode 50, and we're running out of ideas ...

That's fair enough, but I'd be perfectly content with a party hat on the logo or something.
