Material Tweakage

Archive: 10 posts

I think this would be the most helpful and awesome feature in LBP. When you hit "tweak" on a material there should be more options to make it more customizable.

Such as...

Ability to make it grabbable (it would add stitches on edges like sponges are)
Ability to make it invisible
Ability to merge it with other materials and create unique textures
Ability to dissolve material, without unprotected brains. This would have other tweakage under dissolve such as a time option, a on destruction option, or by-switch option.
Ability to adjust the saturation (vivid-ness) of the material

That's all I can think of now, but wouldn't this be very very helpful?!?

Yeah. That is on lbp2 for ps3, so maybe when we get lbp2.

^ Agreed. Part of the beauty of LBP gameplay is that after you jump and fall to your doom, the next time you can notice the spongey-looking material above your head to climb across on. I think it would be more of a setback unless, in LBP2, the Spongey-Tweak in the menu turns, let's say wood into a sponge with a wood pattern.

I mentioned that in the OP. It would add stitches on the edges like most sponge material does.

I think we would lose some of the actual sponge material usage if we went through with this.

Ability to make it invisible

I'm pretty sure this idea would end us up in lots of trouble to try to find levels that don't misuse the function.

You can already tweak materials in various ways with the material tweaker on LBP2 m8.
You can set:

- Bouncy-ness.
- Friccion. (How slippery it is.)
- If its grabbable or not.
- Wether it can be destroyed or not.
- Stickyness

And ther is a "destroy" switch now, that can destroy any materials w/out the needs of brains as well, along with the anti-gravity switch (can modify how much gravity affects the object.), and the danger switch.( can put an object on fire/ electrify/ gassify/ plasmify objects at will, as well as de-lethalizing them as well.)

Are those enought material tweaking tools for you?

Hope that helps!

One problem, this is the PSP suggestions. So basically your comment is inane.

Although, it's nice to hear that LB2 is coming along well.
