Will you still make levels for LBP1?

When you're creating your latest masterpiece on LBP2, will you think about all the people who still play LBP1? Or will it be dead to you?

The last few days I've been making a FPS level, which is a real challenge (which is part of the draw for me) and although it can be a pain, I love that moment when you make something that works, out of pistons and sensors. Or the satisfaction of doing something that you know could be done easily in LBP2, but hard in LBP1.

Will you miss it? And will you still go back to it?

Nope, LBP1 will be dead to me, i am trying to get 2 levels done before LBP2 is out,
but that'll be the end of it for me, i mean honestly LBP2 is LBP1 but far better,
whats the point in playing the worse one at that point? its like if someone
wanted to still play before a patch to a game, no point, most people will move on,
for tho who don't, they need to move on, i'm not nor will most make stuff for them,
and it may just be a rumor, but after some time LBP2 comes out, a month, a year, i dono when,
but LBP1 will sometime or another most likely online will go down,
it costs a lot of money to make them games go online,
and there's no reason after a while for MM to use their money to keep a game online
that most will have moved on from by then,

So no, i will never go back to LBP1 after i get LBP2, there's zero reason to. *mew

Imo logic in LBP1 is pain in back parts to use sometimes so most people probably won't, but there might some arty guys and lads who still will make LBP1 levels, also making levels in LBP1 have a pro that level works in both games, so if you don't need intense logic in your level making level in LBP1 might be better way.2010-10-30 22:48:00

LBP1 isn't exactly dead to me, but at the same time it's not exactly fun. None of the great levels impress me, I've seen better creations from moderate creators then the elites here. I won't be making anything in LBP1, thats for sure, it just takes far too long. I can achieve so much more in LBP2, so much faster.

I had the exact same thought as you but I learnt that Making a FPS in LBP1 will benefit you hugely. You will have the basics already done, understand the limits and you will be eager to push the limit like I am. Tip, when you get LBP2, start from scratch with your FPS (if you choose to go on). It will help a lot.

yh lbp will be dead to me due to the fact the beta is so addicting and better than lbp1 and you forget how the fun the game was fun before the beta but i will go back on it to play with my friends until the full games comes out.2010-11-03 03:24:00

I have a fairly new account so as soon as the Beta is over i need to knuckle down and get all items from LBP1 and hopefully ace aswell , so from that view i think ill probably still be trying to achieve this aim when the sequel is out and it wont have died for me until i am content with the amount of items and stuff that i have.2010-11-03 03:44:00

I'm actually waiting for LBP2 before I make my second ever level.

I just hate how everything falls apart and snaps just because I haven't meticulously readjusted every piston individually, and I'm hoping LBP2's new selection tools will help me synchronize everything together. I really like the new logic tools and I can't wait to make wacky platforms with them.

I'm also getting annoyed at how everything in LBP1 just seems to.. cap out at a certain point in terms of visual prowess and mechanics. I've been spoiled by watching all these vids of movers and halos and controllinators. They really make LBP a tighter experience. It isn't so much a 'cutesy physics game' anymore. It's all grown up and hitting puberty and making sackbot babies all over the place.

Lbp1 has been dead to me since before the beta came out. Just knowing about all the goodies that were coming and how they would make everything I was doing before obsolete killed my desire to work on anything in lbp1 except for a few things that I built in 1 so that I could import them into 2 and finish them.2010-11-03 08:11:00

I won't go back to LBP when LBP2 come out because there won't be any reason for me to do it. You can play the community levels from lbp in lbp2, you can make better levels in lbp2 and I've gotten all the story prizes. So why go back to something thats pretty much dead? Also atm LBP just isn't as fun for me as it used to be. The levels are constantly going down in quality. Imo LBP is past it's prime and the sequel couldn't have come out at a better time.2010-11-03 21:49:00

Well, Nope. I'm done with 1. I'm even creating a goodbye LBP1 level, Cuz LBP2 just has everything I want to make what I want. LittleBigPlanet will be dead but not forgotten. Maybe once in a while I'll pop the disc in and watch that ol' nostalgic planet collect dust, And for fun Put on a Druid beard on LBP2 and go all.. "Now back in my days..You had to make your logic" And.. "Oooh I remember the time they invented the 3D Glitch" and maybe "Before Negativitron.. there was.."

Straightforward.. LOL
I feel like a LBP veteran..

Well i really think LBP1 won't be so dead maybe activity will be lower but not dead, Halo2 didn't die ( it died when they disabled Live for xbox1) after Halo 3, Quake 3 didn't die after free Quake Live, Warcraft 3 didn't killed Starcraft 1 custom map community (even with fact that in difference possibilities those games are like LBP1 and 2).

Not to mention you won't get LBP1 items in LBP2, if you not get them in LBP1 first

Many of the levels I've seen in LBP2 are racers, shoters, films, music levels... I find all of this stuff to be tecnicaly amazing , but what I love is PLATFORMS.
Of course you can do platform levels in LBP2, but I'll miss this "pure platfom" spirit of LBP1.
Not to mention the logic. Creating logic in LBP1 was a challenge. Some of the best LBP1 creators were famous because of their logic skills.
All of this is gone in LBP2. LBP1 will never die for me.
But of course, I'll be moving to LBP2 as soon as it comes out! lol!

agreed 100%, platform kicks every gameplay type's ***! and it won't be the same lbp with this new logic...
