I got the chance to play the level. Its really well put togeather I felt that the decorations were a bit modest though but still fit in well with the enviroment of the level. Its not really anoying or repetative, its just right. Its a bit to short for my taste but its a still a good amount of play time. The only problem I had was the decorations but I'm guessing you were going for something with a fairly simple taste.

Positives: Gameplay, Length, and varity.

Negatives: Decorations but not to bad to complain about.

5/5 stars

I liked this much more than your previous Mystic Oak level. I can tell that you've improved as a creator, more specifically, your layer usage. Also the obstacles were entertaining enough to keep my attention to the end, yet there wasn't anything particularly innovative or outstanding as far as platforming goes.

The aesthetics of the level don't appeal to me at all. I sure do like me a good forest! But this didn't have an organic feel to it all. I would suggest that you try to go less overboard on the stickers and try to place them more modestly. Another nitpick that I had is that at the end of the level you ask for 5 stars and a heart and on top of that complaining about not getting into the beta; I find this to be quite an annoying thing. I gave the level 3/5 stars because it was rather average. I would probably rate higher if the visuals were improved.

I played your level;

Well, i can say this level is one of those simple platformers. Bad? No! The visuals are pretty good! The usage of lighting is also very good. Puzzles were fun and simple too.

The level is pretty well built. No bugs or flaws as far as i know. I'd give it 4stars! Could be 5 though... Im not sure why but something felt missing. Maybe the lack of a story?

I got rid of the rate 5 stars and the beta thing. I should have never put it in in the first place.2010-10-31 17:55:00

Brandamann,

It can't be said enough that opinions are opinions and to achieve a level that can capture the mass audience as a whole is darn near impossible. Even more so with LBP where its reached an audience of females as equal to the males. THAT being said, people who are the hardcore gamer who would say, 'give me the paintinator and a huge boss at the end' may not find your level appealing but on the flip side, such as my wife, she felt your level was utterly amazing, beautiful and not overwhelmingly complicated enough for her to play through. Your first Mystic Oak was given 5 stars and is still a top 10 level for her.

For me, I thought it was done very well and agree with the wife (Mystic Oak 2). The overall design is cleverly designed and implementing water into the level was a welcoming site to break up the monotony. Layers were used well and kept your eyes searching for where you needed to go next, again, not too overboard. The use of stickers is a tad bit overwhelming in spots, but generally they were all well placed and the various sizes helped keep things looking somewhat new.

Sound was good but not overly impressed. Perhaps a tad bit more environmental sounds and add the 'drip' sound near the water?

If I would suggest anything to a level that surely can stand on its own, would to implement a tad bit more variety to keep you wondering what could be next. Perhaps objects that are more organic, such as a wooden bridge and maybe a zip line made from rope. Your attention to detail in your levels are very good and I think you could enhance that even more with a story or plot made into a series. This could introduce the player to new elements such as what was described with out feeling out of place. Oh, and the 2X player challenges are always a favorite of mine and would certainly suggest on making that portion a bit more challenging. It was simple, It almost appeared as an after thought.

Very good levels and a household favorite. :star::star::star::star::star: <3

Would love to hear your feedback on my level as well. Thanks!

John82wa beat me to it, I could not have said it better myself. I loved this level. Very well thought out and polished. You have done a terrific job. And I like the idea of turning these levels into a story, maybe a saga or a trilogy?! It would just add a little more depth to the level or levels.

:star::star::star::star::star: and <3

Can't wait to see more of your levels. Keep up the great work.

I haven't played this level but the reviews make me want to play it.

I've seen this pop up here and there... It's surprising how levels get around so much these days Or maybe it's just me

Wow, pretty good art piece. I guess you like mushrooms ! I felt like playing a Smurf game !
It was short and simple, but simple levels are great too. Anything to keep me thinking about something else than that LBP2 is only after the Xmas Break.

It rocks, with lights, cameras and music, with a great use of water. Neat.
