Rex drew all over a wall

Archive: 6 posts

It’s GameCity 5 in Nottingham this week, and as part of the fun, the organisers put up a load of really nice new white walls around the place. They were really shiny and really brightened up the place… Then Rex turned up with some spray paints and pens and ruined them, they aren’t going to be happy about this!

Oh wait, he was meant to be doing it... oh ok… phew I thought we were all going to get in trouble!

I had a couple hours to paint the wall (I was using spray paint so I had to be quick so it didn’t gas the visitors who were turning up to eat Sushi and watch me working). I managed to not kill the Major of Nottingham (the real mayor, not just a FourSquare user). The mad scientist in the upper middle of the main wall, and the pyramid-head-man on the left panel are my favourites.

Other people drawing on the walls to create awesome included Keita Takahashi of Katamari fame, Baiyon of LittleBigPlanet 2 soundtrack fame (oh, ok and PixelJunk Eden) plus

Babsi Lippe, Sarah McIntyre, John Aggs, Daniel Grey and Tom Brown. You can see some of the things they drew over on Sarah McIntyre’s blog.

The fun and games are going on all weekend, so if you are in the area, you should pop along to Nottingham and join in with some Game City Shenanigans!

Love that black monster in the second image.
Simple and stylised images have so much charm.
