Time Machine

If you had a time machine, what would you do first? I'd go down the obvious path, going back in time and investing in stock... lottery numbers, the cliches. What I wanna know is what you would do. Re-live some past mistakes? Test some paradoxes? Rip the fabric of time and space?

On a side note, I do not believe time machines with the ability to go backwards in time have not, nor ever will, come into existence. My argument? There would be evidence of it already, and there would be many unexplainable occurences, not just 2-3. Unless we are the " first" time in the space, assuming time is like a number line, and we are the infinitely expanding end of it, yet does not stretch on infinitely yet, not until the "first time" reaches infinite, which would be never. Time machines with the ability to go forward I have no problem with, I think those are totally plausible.		2010-10-27 07:34:00

If it works as well as the TARDIS (i.e. compensates for the universe expanding, galaxy, solar system and Earth spinning)

I'd go forward in time to every weekend (No working days!). Going back would cause too many problems.

If I could avoid major paradoxes I'd go back and tell Mm that they're going to have to delay the game anyway and that they shouldn't set a release date until after the beta testing has at least begun. Meaning that no-one would be disappointed at the game's delay. I'd also tell them a load of the bugs in the beta before it's made securing me a bug blaster 		2010-10-27 10:43:00

Well the reason that you dont know of any strange occurences in the past is because using my time machine I have prevented such things from being recorded.
and i stop poeple from doing anything to major to alter the universe.
but if I didnt have to worry about all of that kind of stuff I would stop the government from stealing the machine, breaking it and trapping me in a library in the year 2102		2010-10-27 14:18:00

I would go back in time, to the day I was playing Pokemon SoulSilver, and catch that Shiny Rayquaza I accidentally killed, and no, I didn't save before that.

But what if it's a magic time machine? Or for the sake of discussion we could suspend reality for a bit, and get into the true meaning of LittleBigPlanet.

EDIT: And if it helps at all Inanimacy, the chances of encountering a Shiny come into play when you start the battle, not when you save, so even if you had saved, it wouldn't be a Shiny when you battled it again. I learnt that the hard way... I miss you, shiny Ho-Oh...		2010-10-28 01:13:00

Or something that would alter reality in a way that time could not accompany.

But probably kill my younger self. See if it eradicates all of existence and all that.

And BTW, about time travel being impossible... I that a time machine can only go through the time wormhole it creates, so essentially the machine that activates time travel would only be able to take you as far as the machine is on... or something. I saw it on TV once. and TV is ALWAYS right.

and about the shiny, I think he means going to the exact five minute span AFTER he encounters the shiny, and BEFORE he kills it. So it'd exist then. And also, if he time traveled back, there is also the thing with time potentially being prewritten, so he could be forced to encounter that Pokeman no mattah wut.		2010-10-28 01:18:00

Go forward in time. Get mass amounts of technology(Immortality serum?). Stock self with a vast array of weapons. Travel back in time. Right every wrong throughout human history. Punch Hitler in face. Punch Stalin in face. Punch Hussein in face. Punch every evil person I can find in face. Stop 9/11 and Holocaust... Prevent the Crusades/Inquisition. Prevent other evil events of evil. Educate the early human race in modern logic and science to prevent modern conflicts in science, religion, and politics. Introduce advanced technology millennia before it's time.
