Using HTML anchor tags. Please help.

Archive: 6 posts

Hi there LBPC'ers,

I am familiar with using HTML but am not sure how to properly implement it within LBPC. Bascially I want to have a link to my levels LBPC thread "Resident Raytech" on my signatures within LBPC because I want every single post of mine to have a link to the details of my level without having to post the link every time soemone asks. The thing is I want to use HTML anchor tags so my links looks nice and clean to display what I want it to display and not have a lengthy and messy URL as my signature. I hope you understand what I mean. Please help me with this. If you are unsure of what I mean, just ask for further details and i'll elaborate. Thanks in advance.

Oh to anyone interested in great and unique levels by creators who actually really put their their heart and soul into this game, try my level "Resident Raytech". It is a mysterious facility of unknown origins that you must naviagte your way out of. My focus was on an all round balanced level that appeals to the tech heads and the casual, the pro's and the noobs so there is something for everyone. I hope you enjoy it if you play it and yes I do F4F for everyone who plays my level.

In the edit pane, type in the text you'd like to have displayed, then select it before pressing the Add Link button: http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/LBPC-Style/editor/createlink.png

This will put the URL under the covers like this: LINK (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=38651-Using-HTML-anchor-tags.-Please-help.)

The BB code looks like this:

LINK (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=38651-Using-HTML-anchor-tags.-Please-help.)

What V0rtex said..

Select the text or level name leaving it highlighted. Then select the link symbol as he points out. Plop the link to your level and hit ok.

To make it simpler.. there really is no need for embedded html as the site doesn't allow it in the common areas. So you have all these handy dandy tools in edit and advanced edit to automatically drop the BB tags in for you.

Um... I can try...

In any post or even in your signature, you can add hyperlinks using the URL BB code. Within the opening code syntax, you can specify the actual URL, and between the opening code and the closing code you can specify the text to be displayed:

visible text (actual-url-address)

That's about as clear is I can make it. Hope it helps.

Thank you Vortex and all who helped. It was much more simple than I thought. I was trying to actually interlace my own custom HTML to get the link but this way is too easy.

And to anyone still not sure how to do it, just type what you want the link to be. For example, in my case it was my level name "Resident Raytech". So lets just say thats what you want.

1. Simply type "Resident Raytech" in the signature area anywhere you want it to be.
2. Highlight the writing "Resident Raytech".
3. Then just above the typing box, click the "Insert Link" icon.
4. Make sure you have the URL of the link you want it to go to already copied.
5. And finally, simply paste it into the appropriate box that comes up.
Hope that helps.
