Archive: 15 posts

The previous owner off this LBP UMD wasn't very careful nd there is a scratch on it :@ Because of this scratch evry time I watch the Sprung Bolt tutorial it freezes just before the part where it explains how it works. Would someone be so kind as to enligthen me in the world of how to use sprung bolts please.2010-10-25 19:02:00

Theyre basically bolts with some tension on them to keep them somewhat fixed. Like a diving boared

BTW: When you get 20 USA dollars (Idk how much it is there) buy it from the PSN shop if you have enough space. I recomend getting a 2 to 4gb memory stick.

THe PSN store version has much longer loading times though.

Also, the best example of sprung bolts would be the trees in Alpine Run (1st level)

That's weird, it has faster times for me...

How do I work a sprung bolt?
How do chickens fly?

Just knocking in some humor fella.
Anyway, it works like a spring, except in a blot type of matter.

Not just when you grab, but if any pressure or weight on it, it will try to return to the original position depending on the setting you have. (The higher the strength, the more weight it can push while trying to return to it's original position.)

See that doesn't make sense tho... does it just mean that after it goes one way it pings back the other way?2010-10-29 15:47:00

Kind of, just think of it like a spring that works in a circle instead of a line; in the settings you set its original position, and then if you put any weight or pressure on it, it pushes back trying to get to its original position. As someone else said, you can think of it like the piece that connects a diving board; you push down on it, so it wants to spring back up.

The "strength" setting determines how tight the spring is; with 0 strength the bolt will behave like a completely loose bolt and anything attached to it will just loosely spin; on 10 strength, you will need a ton of weight to move whats attached to it at all.

Just experiment around with the strengths to get the hang of it.
