logic bug

ive built a fairly complex (by my standards) spawn system, and i ran into an odd bug (maybe) in the process. The system keeps track of whether or not certain tag sensors throughout the level detect the "player" tag. if a sensor doesnt sense the tag it waits .5 seconds and then sends its signal to the spawner. also because of the suit changing station, holding or pressing l1 causes a delay in the spawner. all of that works fine. the weird part starts when i get to the chip that has the spawner itself on it. input to the chip triggers the emitter and ticks 4 counters. these counters are attached to holograms that show how many spawns that station has remaining. when all of the counters are full it triggers an end level switch. the counters are not connected to the emitter other than they share the same input. All of this works fine. try to connect a contact sensor attached to a power up ive placed in the level to the counters (not the emitter) reset, and the whole thing grinds to a halt. no more emitting. I was able to get around this by having the contact sensor instead activate a tag that is on the same board as the emitter. in turn activating a tag sensor on that board that inputs to the counters reset. that seems off to me. but then im no expert. should i report this? | 2010-10-25 16:08:00 Author: Deftmute Posts: 730 |
