Is Playstation? Move Worth Getting?

Archive: 46 posts

I was wondering if Playstation? Move is worth getting. I am considering getting it but I don't know if it will have any games that I will like to get to use Playstation? Move. If you know any games that are coming up that I would like, please tell me; I enjoy shooters and games with good stories. Also, does anyone know if the light on the end of the Playstation? Move motion controller will reflect of television screens? Plus I have my Playstation 3 in a small room, so do I need a lot of room to move around using Playstation? Move?

*Please don't comment if you are just going to say I should get Playstation? Move because it will be compatible with the upcoming game LittleBigPlanet 2*

I got mine with Sports Champions and I bought Tumble off the store. Sports Champions is great fun when playing with a friend. I only enjoyed Table Tennis and Gladiator when playing alone. Table Tennis is really good though. I played Gladiator with two controllers at a friend using one controller to block with the shield and one to swing the sword. Seriously awesome. You don't need much room around you if you're going to play alone. I intend to borrow Heavy Rain from a friend, no idea what that's like with or without the controller. I think I'm getting Pain as soon as they patch it for the Move. The lightball doesn't reflect off the TV. I believe google knows a lot about which games are coming out and more. I think it's fun but I wish to god Sports Champions had online multiplayer.2010-10-24 17:24:00

Heavy Rain MOVE Edition is the most immersive gaming experience I have ever had (and I really do not know anyone who plays more games across more genres then me). I hope that answers your question 2010-10-24 17:28:00

That answers most of my questions thanks but do you know any about the upcoming games compatible with Playstation? Move becasue I have already googled it?

I only played the demo of Killzone 2 and I hated the controls. I'm looking forward to a move demo for Killzone 3 but either way I'll probably some way get a hold of K3 and enjoy the campaign with the Move controllers. I bought it because of LBP2 but I'm sure there's plenty other things coming out for it. Hoping for a great multiplayer game. Gran Turismo will have some kind of Move support. I'm very much looking forward to throw the character in Pain with the controller. It just sounds too fun to be true. I haven't looked into upcoming games much at all.

I think Worms is a game that could be great if Move was implemented the right way. The one game I'd die to see get Move support is Puzzle Quest 2.

Yes I was aware Killzone 3 would be Playstation? Move compatible, I am excited about that too. Unfortunately, Killzone 3 comes out in February 2011.

Well I don't have it but I'm going to wait until a game comes out that I really want and Move improves the experience a lot. I already have the Eye so won't be too expensive for me. Perhaps when LBP2 comes out but can't think of anything I really want to play, using Move, before then.2010-10-24 18:26:00

You can download a patch to play Heavy Rain with MOVE from the PSN Store for free. However, I bought the re-released MOVE edition (Europe only for now) that includes DLC, 3 dynamic themes, soundtrack and "making of" movie (I think it will be coming out in NA this holiday season).2010-10-24 18:57:00

What about the The Fight: Lights out (http://us.playstation.com/games-and-media/games/the-fight-lights-out-ps3.html)

I tried it at the Eurogamer and must say I was content, I beat the other character like a punching bag (which may have to do with that I have been to Taekwondo), The controls do what you want and it seems like they got almost all elements inside. I don't have Move yet, but I am definitely getting it when it comes out (along with Move). It should be worth it!

I'd say go get it. It's what Wii was supposed to be. Though if you're in no hurry, the best thing would probably be to wait for 6 months for some proper Move games to be released. Sports Champions is decent but nothing spectacular.2010-10-24 21:24:00

I was thinking about getting Playstation? Move for Christmas but the only game that I really want to get that is compatible with it, is Killzone 3 (coming out in February)

With the way you are looking at it i'd say wait it out. I'm enjoy sports champions & resident evil 5 with it & i'm getting the fight: lights out in a few days but if you don't like thoose then i'd say wait cause it would probably just sit there for 4 months. Also all the games will not get updates obviously because of common sense when has every game compatible with a piece of tech ever gotten updates, only some will like always.2010-10-24 23:54:00

Oh kk I guess. Since Killzone 3 is coming out in February, I could wait for it to be released and get Playstation? Move for my birthday with Killzone 3, a month later.

Massive rip-off, of the Wii. Personally I don't think Sony deserve my money, for stealing the idea of motion control of the Wii.
I don't understand how Wii haven't complaint yet, Nintendo usually does. But it's up to you, its just a Wii with better graphics and physics..

I think motion controls is something all game developers have been thinking and/or tinkering with for well over ten years. Sony's not stealing ideas. I have 3D glasses that I bought in 2003 from www.e-dimensional.com for my old CRT monitor...how long do you think they've been working on that? Technology is constantly evolving. End of lesson. Now you can spit back at me

A note about Sports Champions - that game does everything it says it does. The accuracy is really good. If you think it looks fun you'll definately enjoy it.

Is there a setting where you set it to a certain color?

No, each game has it pre-programed. The default for Heavy Rain for example is blue and when you perform an action it turns red.

As far as I know it's automatic but some games change the colour depending on whats going on like sorcery http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3-2010-sorcery/101596

Since the 1980's atleast http://classicgames.about.com/od/consoleandhandheldgames/p/LeStickProfile.htm

Some of the tech inside the Wiimote is an evolution of the tech from lightguns like the super scope and menacer.
Outside of console peripherals in the mid 90's I had 2 electronic fishing games that had basic motion controls of flick forward to cast and jerk back to set the hook when there was a bite.

I don't have the Move yet, but I've heard it's really fun.

The best looking games I think are Tumble (which you can get off of the PS Store) and Heavy Rain. (Which was a great game anyway.)
Start the Party also looks pretty fun if you have some friends/family to play it with.

(Just showing you, there is a multi-quote button to the bottom right of each post, if you click it for all the posts you want to reply to, then click 'Reply to Thread' you can quote all the posts in a single post - it keeps the forum nice and tidy, and double posting can sometimes get you in trouble with mods if you do it frequently. Sorry if this sounded a little mean, it wasn't my intention.)

Yes, I've heard a lot about Heavy Rain but I don't know a lot about it; the story or anything.

Good! You don't want to know the story - the fun is learning it as you play it. The story is probably the most important part of the game - so you don't want that ruined. If you want to get the game, try and stay away from any forums where there might be spoilers - more fun that way.

Are you talking about calling Jason's name? If so, it's mapped to the "Move" button.

I sold my Wii to my parents January 09... and when I say sold I mean they bought me 180 dollars worth of Gamestop credit and I traded in all my wii games, but anyway. My mom had fun with Wii Fit for a while, but hasn't touched it in over a year. I just got the idea of selling the Wii and possibly getting Move... however, the obvious problem is that my mom already paid me 180 dollars for it, and I feel kinda odd about asking for it back for free. However, she hasn't touched it in forever, so might as well ask about getting rid of it :/ Oh yeah, so... as of right now, what games do you think are "good" Move games? I'm not looking for many, but yeah... I unno, Heavy Rain? wuh? MAG? Nah, I'd get bored quickly... I unno what I'd even do. What's a cookie? Anywho, yeah. ... Just saying I'm thinking of it too. I'm thinking Tumble... maybe I'd get a PSN card while I'm there. Huh. So yeah, think that sounds good? Well, I'll definitively talk about getting rid of the Wii, but about getting Move I mean?

And Heavy Rain is pretty much a gritty Crime Drama. I haven't played it either, but if you don't like Crime Dramas or stuff, then :/

My Wii is covered in dust and cobwebs since I don't have the energy to be waving my arms around wildly while trying to enjoy a long gaming session.

For that reason the Move has no appeal to me, but if you're fit, young and energetic then I guess it might be fun.

The move controller lightball changes color based on the color of your clothes and objects around you that the camera catches to separate it from the background in the best possible way. At least that's what I believe I read on Sony's blog some time ago. When I played the Heavy Rain demo while lying in bed the color went red. I had a red T-shirt. No idea if that was the reason. When playing Sport Champions and tumble it's blue.2010-10-27 17:12:00

So you're saying it depends on the game and how does the camera catch it seperate if it turns the same color as your shirt?

I think you'll find, if you have a look around, that Sony has in fact been working on the Move since before the Wii was even announced.

Calling it just a "gritty Crime Drama" is selling Heavy Rain a wee bit short, I can't argue that the label is inaccurate, but I think the depth of story and immersiveness of the game appeal strongly to people who don't like crime dramas (ie, me).

However, personally I think Heavy Rain is a rent it/borrow it game as it's short (~10 hours) with some replayability, but once you've played it a few times, it's unlikely that you'll get much longevity from it.

Well, my parents wouldn't like me selling the wii after they spent 180 bucks on it . I guess the plan is now for them t sell the Wii, and use the money as part of the Disney World fund to send me to Disney World this summer after I graduate :/. So that'd be great

Anyway, so I guess I'll just wait till Christmas till I get the MOVE... though I have 60+ dollars in gamestop credit... and I want my parents to buy everything for Christmas using that Card so I get the points... Eh, w/e, it'll work out.

... But I unno what game I should get with the Move... Sports Champions wouldn't hold my attention for long... :/

ALSO, if you want a move for relatively cheap...

http://www.techdealdigger.com/pr/cheap-ps3-move-sports-champions-bundle-deals/4477

Get the Sports Champion bundle 85 dollars, free shipping. It applied both coupons to my cart, didn't buy since I only have 63 bucks at Gamestop... but yeah, I'm tempted. :O
