Has anyone got a tutorial for the Cutscene cameras?

I can get it to work and know what I'm doing, but when I set one up to activate with a press of the X button and make it zoom in, have the hold time on zero, and connect that camera up to another camera (clean cut to the other side of the map).

When I hit X, the camera zooms in and fades to black, then pops back how it was before it zoomed in, then starts to make the transition to the second camera.

Hmm, I ran into a bug with fade and zoom fade cameras once. IIRC their transition is disrupted when something is emitted in the meantime. Are you emitting anything?2010-10-23 20:12:00

My cutscene cams don't even work properly. Whenever they are activated, instead of zooming into the area I specified, they zoom out MAD far! I don't know how to solve any problems with the cutscene cameras, so I too am in need of a tutorial/explanation.2010-10-26 03:40:00

I have figured out what it is with them, if you want the first camera to zoom fade into the second camera, you have to put that transition onto the second camera, not the first.2010-10-26 12:50:00

In codec snake i had issue, when i set flatness to full it makes game camera to zoom out and all the positional sounds disappear, this is why Codec Snake is not perfecly flat and you can see 3rd dimension of holos2010-10-26 12:53:00

I have that too...
And an odd one: if you undo after a movie camera with infinite holding time has gone active, the camera will zoom as far as it can go (which is ALOT), and it's annoying.

*cough* game needs more cameras *cough*

When I do movies and cutscenes, i don't bother using key frames, I simply put a sequencer then add movie cameras on to it using the normal 'Edit and Zoom', overlap cameras on there to make the cutscene run smoothlyand not just jump straight to the camera following camera. I don't know whether this helps. xD
I didn't understand keyframes because it seems to like run through them all then go back to the 'Edit and Zoom' i set next to the radius.

In the beta, i'm a bit dissapointed that there aren't enough tutorials. There are no tutorials on the Controllinator, the Sequencer , the Music Sequencer or the Movie camera. the tutorials that are in the beta are not quite useful enough. They should show you many different uses for an item/gadget/tool so you'd have a much clearer idea of how the item/gadget/tool works. For example, i have not found a single good use for the XOR gate or the rocket rotater etc.2010-10-30 19:45:00

XOR for example is good if you want to detect if only one sensor is triggered, it's commonly used gate but still useful sometimes.

Oh and point of tutorials are to show you how tools works not how to create ^^'

And rocket rotators works for rockets, obviously, but another example is on hologram that is following your sackboy/sackbot, so it is pointing and emitting in the direction you walk.

I think Mm said there will be more tutorials in the full game.
