http://kotaku.com/5070469/mirrors-edge-demo-hits-this-week Looks like that rumored Mirror's Edge demo will be hitting the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 earlier than we thought. Electronic Arts just announced that the demo for the free-running blank canvas will hit the Playstation Store on Oct. 30 and Xbox Live Marketplace on Oct. 31. The demo will include the prologue of the game, a tutorial and a segment of the single-player story mode. Also people who pre-order the game through ?select retailers? will receive an unlock code for access to the Time Trial mode. In the Time Trial mode you will have to try and find the fastest routes through chunks of the city. I?ll be interested to hear if it makes anyone trying it motion sick. I was fine when I played the game, but Ash got all green and icky feeling. | 2008-10-29 19:22:00 Author: supersickie Posts: 1366 |
wow awesome! now we can see whether the gameplay will actually be any good. it's a bit hit and miss atm, could be either. | 2008-10-29 19:29:00 Author: ryryryan Posts: 3767 |
wow awesome! now we can see whether the gameplay will actually be any good. it's a bit hit and miss atm, could be either. That's what I'm thinking. That being said, they must be pretty confident about it if they're rolling the demo out so soon. We'll get a true feel for the game well before it's released. | 2008-10-29 19:32:00 Author: supersickie Posts: 1366 |
Yay, I really want to try this game. | 2008-10-29 19:45:00 Author: Unknown User |
Hey, sounds great. I've been looking forward to seeing this game for myself, as well. And this did come out pretty early. Pleasantly unexpected. I just hope there's a Midnight Club demo alongside it at one point. | 2008-10-29 19:49:00 Author: Mark D. Stroyer Posts: 632 |

wow awesome! now we can see whether the gameplay will actually be any good. it's a bit hit and miss atm, could be either. Same here, it looks lovely but at the same time it looks like it would be a bit difficult to play. Ah well, I guess the demo will reveal what it will be like. | 2008-10-30 02:22:00 Author: Yana Posts: 134 |

Just played the Mirror's edge demo, and I'm definitely getting this game. It feels so brilliant to jump across rooftops and the general game is hugely artistic, which I love. | 2008-10-30 22:40:00 Author: Dabog Posts: 74 |

Agreed its got a great visual style. Its nice to see a game with such a limited yet vibrant use of colour unlike the muddy browns and greys of a lot of games. Plays great too. | 2008-10-31 00:13:00 Author: LittleBigChav Posts: 175 |
After I throw the bag to the girl on the rooftop and the SWAT-like members are shooting at me, what do I do? EDIT: Nevermind, didn't see the opening in the gate. -.- :o | 2008-10-31 00:14:00 Author: Unknown User |

Yeah, ME is a great game, I'll get it when it's cheap. | 2008-10-31 02:32:00 Author: Teh_Bucko Posts: 246 |

I wish you could explore a part of the city instead of just doing an easy, quick level.. | 2008-10-31 13:59:00 Author: TheArmedReaper Posts: 1543 |
I wish you could explore a part of the city instead of just doing an easy, quick level.. It's a demo, what do you expect? ;_; I don't know if it's a must buy, but I was impressed by it. I'll be getting it at some point. You're dead to me grr | 2008-10-31 14:05:00 Author: Unknown User |
wow i just played the demo and it was better than i thought, i was a little afraid it was in first person in the begining but after i played around a bit it was fun just jumping around lol. i'm definitely going to get this game | 2008-10-31 23:19:00 Author: TearsOfHeaven Posts: 23 |

Definitely a great Christmas gift. I'm not buying any games until then, so I can see what is worth buying and what isn't. So far I've got Mirror's Edge, Far Cry 2, and Fallout 3 on my list. | 2008-11-01 00:06:00 Author: ConfusedCartman Posts: 3729 |
Seemed rubbish to me. Graphics seemed poor, although the people looked pretty good. Didn't like the gameplay much.. Liked jumping around and everything, but the combat seemed flawed, badly. | 2008-11-01 00:08:00 Author: DrunkMiffy Posts: 2758 |
I like games that allow you to do acrobatic stuff. When I played Prince of Persia I was a happy camper =) This seems like my kind of game (just played the demo) but I've got Fallout 3 on the priority list right now... | 2008-11-01 00:11:00 Author: Ozymandias Posts: 223 |

Liked jumping around and everything, but the combat seemed flawed, badly. wow, i thought the complete opposite way, i thought the peoples animations were good but they looked all wierd and grainy, and the faces didnt have much definition, the environment however had great graphics and awesome artistic style, and it was 5 billion times sharper than the people | 2008-11-01 03:24:00 Author: Gondito Posts: 1082 |

You're not supposed to fight, that's the point. o__o Well, I was nicely surprised by the demo. Very original, very fun which is strange coming from EA. I think the longivity of the game is going to determine whether or not I buy it. If it's just a 4 hour single-player with time trials then you can forget it. I need more bang for my buck. | 2008-11-01 06:52:00 Author: UmJammerSully Posts: 1097 |
Personally I really really liked it , I have played it like over 20 times and I am hooked . Was looking forward to this personally and was pleasently suprised and look forward to but again it wont be a staright buy one for later. ALong with fallout / Dead space and now this. | 2008-11-01 12:28:00 Author: Kyashu Posts: 447 |
It sees like a pretty good game | 2008-11-01 12:29:00 Author: lordflash11 Posts: 194 |
Original and polished. A good demo. I'll definitely be getting this soon. | 2008-11-01 18:44:00 Author: alexbull_uk Posts: 1287 |
I found that the levels were much too linear. The gameplay mechanics worked well though. | 2008-11-01 19:01:00 Author: MatthijsNL Posts: 164 |
Awesome demo, seems like a great game. I won't be buying it, but renting it/recieving it as a gift sounds good. Loved the artistic style, and the gameplay felt really innovative. I had doubts about it being in the first-person, but all those doubts are gone. It worked wonderfully. However, the level after the tutorial felt really linear, and I hope the levels have a bit more freedom later on. Didn't do much in terms as combat, since I was doing the whole running away thing. >.< grr | 2008-11-02 06:33:00 Author: scratchbachstan Posts: 65 |

I found the demo disappointing. I appreciate the originality but despite the fact that you have all these wonderful acrobatic moves there is a linearity that really irritated me. Whereas with something like Assassin`s Creed you could choose from dozens of different paths to reach your destination, here you have specific points you have to follow, particular doors you have to go through etc. I also wasn't a big fan of the colour palette. I saw red, white, black, blue and shades of grey and that`s pretty much it. I know they are going for a certain look but still... let me tell you fallout 3 is worth it bought it first day it came out Very sage advice (especially since I emphatically told him to buy the game lol). Obliivion was one of the greatest gameplay experiences I have ever had in my 20+ years of gaming. Fallout is bigger, badder and more beautiful in every way. There are a handful of Game of the Year contenders (LBP, MGS4, R2) and Fallout 3 is one of them. If you are fan of video games then you owe it to yourslef to buy Fallout 3. | 2008-11-03 00:51:00 Author: OCK Posts: 1536 |
I thought the graphics were cool and polished, but not as awesome looking as I had expected from all the hype. The gameplay of jumping around and running was brilliant, but as soon as I had to fight someone I just lost interest. Running *from* people and avoiding them and all those things would be awesome if you didn't have to actually fight people directly. | 2008-11-03 01:19:00 Author: kepsux Posts: 7 |
As someone with an aversion to first person games, I can tell you that I really enjoyed this demo. I'll definatly be getting this sometime next year (hey Valkiyra Chronicles and LittleBigPlanet will keep me busy till then). I wonder what this would be like to play with those goggle TV things I'm thinking of buying; http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/-/319/405/-/5821400/Vuzix-iWear-AV230-Virtual-Reality-Video-Eyewear/Product.html?searchtype=genre OMG, I AM FLYING. Maybe I'm the only one who sees this game a bit boring. It looks like those easy but makes you think games, you gotta think of a way out, finish the stage, or w/e. In the end you'll unlock some stupid option like ' TIME LAPSE SEE HOW FAST YOU DO THIS STAGE! ' or unlimited health, more bad guys put in, it doesn't look too diversified. Maybe I have too much of a high standard.. I like a lot of different genre and types of games, I just don't like this one :O | 2008-11-04 04:09:00 Author: BobMarley Posts: 260 |
i guess it was ok. there was just somthing missing that i still dont know what it is. there is just an emptiness | 2008-11-04 15:26:00 Author: Snrm Posts: 6419 |
I played it. Never got motion sick. Good game though. Nice and fast paced, a bit of a change to Fallout 3, Dead Space and Fable 2 which I've been playing recently. So I'll be picking up ME as well. I'm going to need more time! | 2008-11-04 15:33:00 Author: flakmagnet Posts: 1084 |
