The Hero Chronicles LV8 Phantom Planet Part 1 and 2JustinArt http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=25661You and others that helped you in previous chronicles entered the mysterious planet filled with dangers and monsters. Find the phantom leader and destroy him. Epic and challenging obstacles, and various gameplay. The moment everybody has been waited for! The epic series finale of "The Hero Chronicles"! I have saved the best for last as it features epic visuals, layer glitches, musics, enemies, gameplay, obstacles, and boss battles. Beware though, just like every video games, every last levels is the most difficult of them all so this 2 part level is challenging , but the bright side, there's infinite checkpoints. The level is so huge that it has to be 2 separate levels. Part 1 features a variety of gameplay, while part 2 has 5 epic boss battles. Also, there's a special area at the end of part 2, but it requires 8 key stickers that you can get from part 1 and the series' previous levels [it'll be rewarded at the end of each level]. After ten months of playing LBP1 and 5 months of making all of "The Hero Chronicles" levels, it was a blast experiencing the play, create, and share moments that inspired me to continue making great levels. I want to thank everyone for all the encouragements, ideas, inspirations, and experiences that made me a great creator. Big thanks and dedicated to: CompherMC, Morgana25, Julesyjules, TheAdipose, Poms, SteveBigGuns, Lockstitch, L1GhTmArE, Sabre_, Jedi-1993, Shawneboi, FenderJT, X-Frogboy-X, Foofles, Midnight-heist, Arradi [Haredriel], Maxjeager [Angel-Punishment] jump_button, Zynax555, Duffluc, dTOtheTEE, Jaquan1254, X-Nobody-X, and many more [I'll list more in each of the thread's updates] Also special thanks to those who beta tested part 1 that really helped me make it more epic: Lockstitch, Ryhas, Foofles, L1GhTmArE, Sabre_, Midnight-heist, Coyote-Blue, Optimafrogg, Jaquan1254, Thanatos989, and Ferrrch. And extra special thanks to: L1GhTmArE, Sabre_, and Midnight-heist for having us play testing both levels and giving me some excellent ideas, improvements, and objects that really helped this level. Well, that's all of the levels I can make in LBP1 as I used up all 20 level space. Don't worry, I'll make more exciting levels in LBP2 and the PSP version of LBP [I just owned it]. Enjoy my last 2 levels of LBP1. | 2010-10-21 08:20:00 Author: JustinArt Posts: 1314 |

Man, idk where to start. You come up with new gameplay everytime you publish a level. These levels are no exception. The boss battles are challenging and fun. Also the way you transition things is just brilliant. Kudos to you for making one of the best series of levels on LBP with something new in each one. Ill be waiting to see what you make on LBP2 | 2010-10-22 16:43:00 Author: L1GhTmArE Posts: 519 |
Ok, finally got around to playing these levels. Now these levels were some very exceptional ones out of your whole level series. I was impressed by the varying 3d layers you had, especially where you have like a volcano with red glowing eyes? That caught my attention, also using the black sail decoration was a good choice too. The different platforming traps and puzzles were moderately hard, I did hit a hiccup on the part where you have to drag that key from king pengu to the door, I ended up dying just before passing the part where you cross the bridge that falls, I ended up dying and being respawned back to the second floor and having to beat that part AGAIN and then going back to retrieve my key, EDIT: Ok I just realized that there is a checkpoint before the penguin, but you have to run to get it and I was having so much fun, I missed it, so maybe have it activated by a player sensor switch? The several bosses were very well done and it was a very great level to play, I gave it a 5:star:'s and hope you come out with some more awesome levels like this in lbp2 dude, it never got old and was very interesting As I mentioned before you can feedback my level Ashton Chronicles 1: Hidden Water Temple. By the way this was an awesome way to conclude the last two level slots you had dude | 2010-10-22 21:06:00 Author: damaz10 Posts: 771 |

Great to hear that Ferrrch. I didn't know you beta tested it until yesterday. I just added you to the special thanks category. Hope you enjoy part 1 again [this time in final version] and part 2 as well. Man, idk where to start. You come up with new gameplay everytime you publish a level. These levels are no exception. I had a great time getting volunteers from the both of you and I don't know if it'll be epic enough without you two. Ok, finally got around to playing these levels. I'll get to fix that in the final levels' first update and by the way, I was going to ask you first to F4F this level, because I just played that Ashton Chronicles level of yours. Now to send an feedback to your level. | 2010-10-22 22:31:00 Author: JustinArt Posts: 1314 |
Definitely epic! I was completely taken with probably the best creatures I have seen on LBP. Totally dig the leviathan ("loch ness") creature in the water. I made it all the way to the key, and in my many failed and probably comical attempts to drag that thing to the castle I finally gave up. Mostly because I kept having to respawn way back to an area I felt I had already conquered. In my opinion there should have been a checkpoint by the key, but perhaps that was done on purpose?? Definitely 5 stars and a heart. I will have to play the other 7 in the series now, lol! | 2010-10-23 04:10:00 Author: Quazau Posts: 44 |

Nothing to worry about, I just added an extra checkpoint so that you don't have to respawn back to near the gate. Alright, I just updated both levels with more stickers and corner edit; in part 1, I added the checkpoint near the magic box where you free the King penguin and I fixed one of the logic tools in part 2, making it more accurate and timing. | 2010-10-23 19:56:00 Author: JustinArt Posts: 1314 |
It was a really fun level. You've improved a lot from hero's quest. All your levels were beautiful but this takes the cake. The buildings, the robots, the creatures, everything was perfect. The only thing that bugged me was the boss of phantom planet part one and the final boss of part two, they looked great but they were pretty boring but it doesn't matter since the trip getting there was fun. I didn't see the true identity of the phantom leader coming. | 2010-10-23 22:55:00 Author: Jaquan1254 Posts: 49 |

Alright, hope nobody played the previous update because I noticed that it appears to have a key glitch. I republished it with a replaced key near the end of the level, just to see if the key glitch is gone; I play tested it and the keys managed to reveal the levels that supposed to show on the map. Hopefully, anyone who completes part 1 manages to unlock part 2. That's all of what has been updated. | 2010-10-26 19:47:00 Author: JustinArt Posts: 1314 |
Part One This had some very cool lighting effects, and the corner-editing seems to get better and better in your levels. The visuals were a bit light in some areas, but the clever puzzles and innovative gameplay made up for it. Overall, nice work, I gave the level :star::star::star::star:. Part Two The ending was epic, the best of the series in my opinion. Overall, a great conclusion to 'The Hero Chronicles' saga, I rated the level :star::star::star::star::star:. I look forward to see what you make in LBP2. | 2010-10-26 23:31:00 Author: X-FROGBOY-X Posts: 1800 |
Just played this level (part 1) and loved it. Excellent visuals created by a good mix of materials and lighting, and a great choice of music. I loved the sea serphent and the phantom / ghost. Very well done. Nothing really stood out as far as recommendations. 5 stars and a heart. | 2010-10-27 07:51:00 Author: MicGorbachev Posts: 372 |

Wow I just thanked myself for inviting some members to beta test part 1. | 2010-10-30 00:07:00 Author: JustinArt Posts: 1314 |
Hey Justin, I just played LV8 part 1 and although it was a little rough in certain areas such as a lack of much need light in some parts, this level was a great adventure level. It was a little long but I was kept entertained all the way through so that is definitely a good thing. The challenge was a little frustraing in parts but mainly to do with minimal light, other than that the challenge was fun and refreshing. Kudos on creating custom enemies and decent work of the layer glitch too. I like the ideas like the crushing fist and the shakey ground which throw you up high so you had to avoid the electricity and others that were a blend of inpiration form the MGS pack but used in unique and different ways. Nice environment too, I really felt like I was on an adventure and I especially enjoyed your great use of backtracking, reminded me of an old school RPG. Thoroughly enjoyable adventure level. Well done Justin! | 2010-10-30 19:09:00 Author: LFiers Posts: 161 |
Didn't get to part 2, but Ioved part 1. +variety of gameplay +Good use of water (though I wanted to throttle use in the electrict part) +The big fist boss and shaking area. +Atmosphere was unique and pleasant. -Lighting in places made it hard to see what you needed to do. Enjoyed it and looking forward to getting a chance to play more of your levels. For F4F, any or all levels in my sig. | 2010-10-30 20:25:00 Author: Biv Posts: 734 |
Outstanding conclusion to an epic series! I'm impressed that you stuck to your guns and pulled off a very impressive serires of levels. Makes me want to finish with Elemental... Thanks everyone for the feedbacks. Just as Ferrrch predicted in his feedback, it's spotlight material as it made a spotlight debut in episode 51. As a reward of this level making a spotlight debut, I'll add something really cool to not just this 2 part level, but the rest of "The Hero Chronicles" levels as well. Thanks again to those who I add to "Big thanks and dedicated to" category, "Special thanks" category, and "Extra Special Thanks" category. And Shawneboi, I'll be looking forward to your next "Elemental" level. | 2010-10-31 21:44:00 Author: JustinArt Posts: 1314 |
Not as i predicted... but at least congratulations! and as you said the list was really small and your level, in my opinion should be on the spotlighted list. | 2010-10-31 21:47:00 Author: ferrrch Posts: 429 |
+ Level's looooong lenght! + Awesome platforming! + Great setting and background! - Some part had odd choice of materials. - 3rd boss in Part 2. Took too much time to hit the weak spot. :C Awesome stories end with a bang and this ends with heck of a bang. Congrats on your spotlight! 5 Stars! Overall: Great end to awesome series. 5 Stars and Heart! | 2010-11-01 08:09:00 Author: Coconuts Posts: 384 |
Alright, part 1 and 2 now has some updates. Part 1 now has a little lighter lighting in the first half of the level so that it's not too dark for some players and I added more stickers and decorations. And now that this 2 part level made an spotlight debut, I decided to unlock part 2. That's great news isn't it, but the minor bad news, you need one more key sticker and that's at the end of part 1 in order gain access to the special area. As a celebration of making all 20 levels, I also decided to unlock "The Hero Quest" LV2-LV10. Now that all of my locked levels have been unlocked, you are free to play any of my levels in any order. Check out my signature pick [Here's a full size because the sig one is too small]. http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=26140 | 2010-11-02 00:16:00 Author: JustinArt Posts: 1314 |
As usual the platforming is great and you used the 3d layers well. I think your visual skill has much improved since the first levels of the series. You did a good job conveying the theme through material choice and aesthetic design. The parts that used the paintinator with limited ammo where a little annoying, though, because of the constant having to reload. I understand what you were trying to do with that, but maybe add a few more shorts per reload. Overall you've created some very fun levels with awesome boss fights! | 2010-11-29 04:43:00 Author: zynax555 Posts: 170 |
The Last boss was friggin epic, great job on that, the 3rd form gave a hard time though >_<. But its still good, I love the whole series, and Its cool how you made a Cameo of that little evil villain from LBP (Forgot his name). Use of 3D layer is epic like always great job, I never stop thinking about Zelda when I play Hero Chronicles, it really has a Nostalgic feeling. I wanna point out, the characters you've made are memorable, I really like all the characters of the series and the way they appear throughout the whole story. The Puzzle with that Red Gem was epic, the one where the Penguin King dude was helping you out, I really liked that. The Sword, Loved it great job (the one you use to kill the Last Form of the Final Boss), I wish the Ending was more longer though, something like showing what everyone is up too after the ending, but I can understand it was overheated. The whole series gets 5 :star::star::star::star::star:, Great job, cant wait to see what you got under your sleeve for LBP2. | 2010-12-02 01:41:00 Author: Bloo_boy Posts: 1019 |
Did a little testing for these levels, plus had a few playthroughs of the final versions. Can't believe I haven't posted here yet. These are some nice levels here, great gameplay, and some cool visuals throughout. Highly recommended! Will be looking foward to your creations in LBP2. | 2010-12-24 19:37:00 Author: midnight_heist Posts: 2513 |
Great to see that a lot of you would like to see what I'll be planning for LBP2. Well here's what I come up with: I'll make a brand new level series that will have an breathtaking story, more gameplay madness, and unique visuals. Since LBP2's story mode is sci-fi themed, my new level series will be sci-fi themed as well and it'll be titled "Cybernetic Adventures". I'm planning some great ideas I came up with while playing LBP2 beta, so that once I get my hands on LBP2 and collect every items in the game's story mode, I'll begin this amazing project. In a meantime, I updated all of "The Hero Chronicles" levels one more time with amazing changes and even more improvements [including grammatical fixes and more corner edits] . You'll be surprised what has transformed in my best levels of LBP1. | 2011-01-17 22:45:00 Author: JustinArt Posts: 1314 |
