Archive: 20 posts
Recently, Media Molecule's developers had a presentation at the Eurogamer Expo. For an hour they walked through LittleBigPlanet 2 and had a chance to talk about all of the new features in their highly anticipated and acclaimed sequel. Also, GrantosUK makes a debut appearance along with the devs to show LBP2's create mode, including a special on-the-fly interactive session with the audience. Here, in it's entirety, is that presentation: http://www.eurogamer.net/videos/eg-expo-littlebigplanet-2-dev-session?size=hd Discuss. | 2010-10-20 17:47:00 Author: schm0 Posts: 1239 |

Voice recording? But we can't do that in the beta...or did I miss that completely? | 2010-10-22 19:25:00 Author: BasketSnake Posts: 2391 |
Voice recording? But we can't do that in the beta...or did I miss that completely? When I watched this yesterday I thought the same thing. | 2010-10-22 20:15:00 Author: robotiod Posts: 2662 |
When I watched this yesterday I thought the same thing. @Coconuts: Dynamic Emitters (the thing you are referring to) have been disabled by accident in the LBP2 beta 1.01 patch. They will probably be back in the full game. But yes, you can make emitters emit any object out of the level, and when you change the object in the level, the emitter will update to reflect that. It will always emit the latest copy. @robotiod: Voice recording isn't enabled in the beta, but will (according to MM), be enabled in the full game. | 2010-10-22 21:24:00 Author: robbit10 Posts: 450 |

I referred an object for my emitter a few days ago, and it worked... I think it didn't update the referred object though = disabled? dayum, I was hoping for an infinite emitter loop... in theory it should be possible shouldn't it? | 2010-10-23 22:05:00 Author: Unknown User |
A wonderful watch! I seriously thought of making a full fledged apple-tank after seeing this clip Also nice to see the dynamic emitters back in this build! Even though I'm playing the Beta right now, I CAN'T wait for the real game to hit the stores | 2010-10-25 12:47:00 Author: Slaeden-Bob Posts: 605 |
dayum, I was hoping for an infinite emitter loop... in theory it should be possible shouldn't it? Yes. In fact, i made one. Just put a microchip on a block of wood, put an emitter on it, use the 'pick emitted object' to pick the wooden block itself, then copy the emitter 4 times, each to a different corner of the microchip. Then connect a randomiser to all four emitters. Make sure each emitter emits in a different direction. This will cause an infinite loop of emitting, and if you don't stop it on time, your PS3 will crash. I'm not quite sure why you need multiple emitters and a randomiser, but a single emitter doesn't work, I tried it. | 2010-10-25 19:58:00 Author: robbit10 Posts: 450 |

I did find a much better workaround for it though. ...it does feel odd that it requires multiple emitters to be happy though. | 2010-10-27 20:38:00 Author: Unknown User |

Hmm... what does it tell about the future of LBP2 when the audience answers "Z0mBI3 5URV1V4L!!1!1" (zombie survival) when asked a new unheard genre? Sigh. | 2010-10-30 11:33:00 Author: Unknown User |
