Is anyone else feeling the crunch?

Archive: 7 posts

Well, LBP2 is just around the corner, and for those of us who DON'T have the beta, I was just wondering...
Is anybody else going grindcore trying to push out all their unfinished projects/ideas? I know it seems silly to go full tilt NOW, when there's already millions of levels existing already and they're all gonna be pretty much obsolete soon anyway... But I guess I was just compelled to, and curious if anybody else was.
Is this a bad time to be publishing levels? Or are there still just as many players/creators being active as ever? Either way, I'm still gonna be a publishing machine. Anybody with me?

EDIT: Posted a super-fun POLL! Now this thread is interactive.

Just throwing this out there: In the beta your moon carries over with your profile. So there's no need to rush (Also the game's not out 'till Jan)

Anyway, my moon isn't very full. I only keep levels I've published on it. I have about 3 'Fun' craters for when friends want a 'mess about' or want to show me something. So overall I have about 12 used slots on my moon. I really don't like clutter.

Yeah, I'm aware that all the old levels will still be accessible/usable/editable, but I'm referring more to the obsolescence of the wacky, absolutely ingenious crack-mechanics and piston logic. With movers and gyroscopes and circuit boards, all those things we worked so hard to create the ILLUSION of are all of the sudden commonplace -- which is AWESOME, per se... But my feelings are this: I have a whole bunch of crazy concepts with some of the most "Rube Goldberg" looking logic you've ever seen, but in January, all of the things that that crazy logic and mechanics are doing will be old news.
Basically, I just want to have a final hoorah for piston logic, floaty rail systems, "death-based-teleporters", and all things uniquely LBP1. Naw' mean?

Yeah, I see what your getting at, for me I'm trying to get some levels out on lbp1 before lbp2 comes, I have a list of ideas I want to implement in lbp2. Same goes for lbp1, I also have a list for it, mainly just levels I know will work great in lbp1 and not take up a level slot in lbp2, my goal is to fully get every 20 level slot in lbp1 and 2 full, I'm hoping it will happen sooner than I think 2010-10-20 18:59:00

I do, I do. I will miss the endless hous I spent creating a mass of dark matter, pistons and dissolve, and the joy you get when it all works! But I will be glad that it will be easyier so I can concentrate on game play and visuals.2010-10-20 19:15:00

There's no crunch imo. LBP2 aint out till late Jan..
Even if your level is finshed by new year, people still have about a <month to play it.
