Bang126's Creating Tips Hey and welcome to my Creating tips thread...it will be updated weekly and include any kind of tutorials, whether it be glitches, tools, getting the best photos and getting your level noticed!! Woah, Woah, Woah...wait there....are you an experienced creator? Then don't waste your time with this, these tips are for in-experienced creators! Tutorial 1: The Grid Wow, this is probably your most important tool, it can make it easier to make aligned shapes. But yet many people don't use it and therefore there levels look un-professional and shabby. Step 1: - Go into a level on your Moon Step 2: - Press Start Step 3: - Either select Small, Medium or Large Grid. I suggest picking medium grid. But here are some uses: Small Grid: Fine detail Medium Grid: Making basic shapes Big Grid: Making massive shapes that are very straight Step 4: - Make your shape, if your just starting your level make sure the base is off the ground and made using the grid, this makes it easier to carry on from. EXTRA TIP: As your not likely to be making a level in a single bulk, here's an extra useful tip. When you stop creating your level for any amount of time ( 1 hour +) make sure you finish it aligned with the grid..that way it's easy to pick up from at a later date. Or if you are at a friends Moon, you can make a bit of your level (aligned to the grid) capture it and then put it in your level like a jigsaw piece Tutorial 2: Choosing your Materials! Choosing your material for the right purpose is vital for a good looking level. Making sure you have a select few is also important to keep your thermometer down! Here's the best materials to use for the right purposes: Modern: Most Metals (Especially MGS Materials!) Old / City: Stone - Wood (Some) - Metals (Rusty) Note; For Old change colour correction for a better look Jungle: Dark Woods/Old woods - Green/Brown Sponge A better thread with loads more detail on usage of materials, colours and cameras can be found here (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=38163-The-Beautiful-Scenes-Guide) Tutorial 3: Getting the best Photos. Now in any good level, your likely to use your own customizable Stickers. Whether it be for a level icon or as a sticker switch. So here's how to get the best ones: Step 1: - Go to global settings and turn the 'Fog" setting all the way down. This makes it look clearer and better. Step 2: - Make your sticker, this can be anything such as, a picture of your sackboy or a logo for a level. Here are some examples... http://lh4.ggpht.com/_5psUH-NSEbk/TMMKEs5W-II/AAAAAAAAAEE/vubkyjFlIjc/A%20Photo_2.jpg (For the Shadow effect, just turn the darkness all the way up/Also make the floor out of invisible dark matter) http://lh6.ggpht.com/_5psUH-NSEbk/TMMKE1JLHaI/AAAAAAAAAEM/TMTRLnHmcsQ/A%20Photo_4.jpg http://lh5.ggpht.com/_5psUH-NSEbk/TMMKEx2SkkI/AAAAAAAAAEI/xVa5-91q45M/A%20Photo_3.jpg (Made using a font by Comphermc) If you want the background to be a colour, such as blue, orange, red etc. Just make a large LED light and edit the colour settings. This makes your pictures have a bright background and look more polished. Heres what I mean: http://lh6.ggpht.com/_5psUH-NSEbk/TMMKEU2hIlI/AAAAAAAAAD8/toSmlqKHOj8/A%20Photo.jpg Step 3: - Now a lot of you happy gadders don't know this but, if you go into front view, the edges of objects become a lot crisper and sharper. This makes photos look even more impressive!! To access it go to START>FRONT VIEW. Step 4: - Take your photo! That's the latest tutorial, check back every weekend for more. Bye! Hmm.. interesting for more starter creators, who are trying to find easy and good tutorials. It's really nice of you to take the time to explain, step by step how do to these things. I can't wait to see if you'll make some tutorials for more experienced creators too, so maybe they could learn something new | 2010-10-23 21:59:00 Author: Chump Posts: 1712 |
Yeah, i felt some people just needed a helping hand But making some for the most experienced creators is pointless i feel, as they already know most creating tips and tricks!! | 2010-10-24 08:14:00 Author: Bang126 Posts: 157 |

Knew ALL of it except the thing about LED background's, usually I use a huge piece of thin blue wood in the back thin layer. I realized that the stickers glitch (i.e. colour doesn't show up, blurred lines even in front view, etc.) so I'll use LED's now If I forget everything overnight then I'll come back some other time | 2010-10-26 11:46:00 Author: mutant_red_peas Posts: 516 |
well seeing as it says for "in-experienced creators" it diesnt really apply to you. and its amazong how many people dont use the LED thing, it reallly does amaze me!! | 2010-10-26 11:52:00 Author: Bang126 Posts: 157 |
OK, i'm lost on this 'LED background', where was it and what is it? | 2010-10-29 03:01:00 Author: ceejayem13 Posts: 181 |
OK, i'm lost on this 'LED background', where was it and what is it? Noooo, its not an actual background. All it is, is a LED from the Objects Section of your Popit (Its the one with all the story things) Scroll down to Lights Select LED Light and make it MASSIVE! Hope this helped!! If not just PM me or send me a message | 2010-10-30 09:10:00 Author: Bang126 Posts: 157 |
