The Enchanted Towers

3 days ago a warlok randomly attacked your pod. You arrive at his castle with all kinds of mischievous jiggery pokery planned out as your revenge, but the warlok isn't going down easily....
Originally my first level, which I took down to update and have only now remembered to update. This is only my second published level and I hope you guys enjoy it.

Oh yeah, and see if you can find matilda (the cow) in this level! If you do, you win nothing but the satisfaction of having found her!

I have been going through and updating some of my levels too so I felt it was only polite to help you with your updates as well. Would suggest putting a camera near the lever at the start of the level so you can see the bridge coming down. Really liking the tree design over the water. The disappearing platforms are genius and a good challenge but they could be tightened up a bit. The lightning and gas are really hypnotic, good sense of atmosphere. The boss at the end could be better as it wasn't really that challenging. On the whole though I think the level could use some extra cameras, this level deserves to be seen from the best angles and it would really add to the atmosphere.2010-10-19 01:16:00

This was great but I couldn't complete it, one of the Ice paths near the waterfalls would only spawn for about half a second. This has potential, and I will try again later and give more feedback. If you want to play it, my F4F level is in my sig.2010-10-19 08:11:00

Feedback

Positives:
+Forrest looked good
+Gameplay was okay
+Platforming was pretty original

Negatives:
-Hints take the fun out of it a lil bit
-After the rocks collapse theres no way to proceed on because the 1st ledge is all the way at the bottom near the gas and the other 2 ledges are at the top but to far to make the jump. So I couldnt finish the level.

Sugguestions:
-Instead of adding a speech saying pull the level in the beginning to cross, just change the switch to a 2-way switch and connect it to a magic mouth on the bridge.

Overall from what I played it was worth playing::star::star::star: keep up the good work.

I've just added a few more camera zones throughout the level and your right, it really does make a difference! about the boss, did you mean climbing the final tower or battleing the warlok himself? if it was the later then yes, it IS to easy any levels you want feedback on?

fixed the timer on the platform, so none of them should be shorter then about 4 seconds, which is in some cases a little too long but better safe then sorry

I have changed the magic mouth at the start to a camera that shows the bridge as it falls down, should make things a little bit easier for people. After the rock collapses the platform at the bottom by the gass should automatically start moving up and down, the level must've somehow glitched as I haven't managed to make it stay down again yet....
also you didn't leave a level for me to feedback on.

Hi, good job on the level. Couldn't finish it though, felt a little awkward, but had a nice feel to it as far as the look. Anyone who takes the time to make a decent level deserves to be played and noticed! Great for your second level!2010-10-20 05:00:00

Couple of points to add:
The explosion after the waterfalls was awesome, it just lagged the game a bit
The text at the top of the rolling electricity interrupted my jumping and killed me
The puzzle after the rolling was hard for me to figure out, I couldn't see another switch was being emitted
Found the invisible dark matter right after this under the platforms
On the last section you can spawn two lifts and they jam up.
Sorry for breaking your level so much I did really like it though.

I just played this now, and I quite enjoyed it! My few points are:
Positives
The forest area looked great, I love the seaweed trees!
The gameplay was solid, and had some good ideas

Negatives
Some areas, especially the 'castle' type areas were a little dull aesthetically. Try adding to the atmosphere of the level by cutting out windows, adding some more stickers and make it a little more than just a wall of stone.
Another suggestion would be that (if you have the PotC Pack) I think you should change the castle areas to the Granite Wall material, as they don't look very man-made to me. But that's just me
The magic platforms also had me a little annoyed, especially the first time they came up as I kept slipping off and having to die to get back, with no other option. I don't think there should be no other option, but that, again, is just me. And glass uphill sloped are not my friend

All in all though, it was solid, and I enjoyed it, so you earned yourself 3 lovely stars! Keep up the good work!

Ok thanks for the comment countruby! I'll be sure to check your level out asap! I will try to add some more eye candy to the castle areas, although I'm not to keen on the granite wall material, it just doesn't seem to quite fit. I'm not sure about how I would manage to make any way other then dieing to get out from hanging of a platform after sliding off of it at the moment, but as soon as I do, I will try to implement it! thanks again for all the nice comments guys!2010-10-21 18:14:00
