OMG!!! A REAL GUITAR HERO/ROCK BAND CLONE IN LBP1?!?!?!

I've been working on a Rock Band clone in LBP for a while now. Finally done. I put in Switchfoot - The Sound (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GCEr6z9eyWI) as the song.

This was done by myself without the use of any glitches.

It took a heck of a long time to get all the technology, graphics, and music done. The technology and graphics were pretty fun to make, and the music was really repetitive and annoying to make. (Yes, I copied a ton. I'm talking about plugging in every _ single _ wire)

Controls: R1 and X with 2 sections you can switch between by going left or right.
Graphics: Great looking 3D fretboard, with notes that look like they are actually approaching the player.
ROCK Meter: Vertical meter made up of 5 lights on an awesome fire shape. It will lower if you accidentaly play a note or miss a note, and it will rise if you hit a note. Very awesome.

10/20/10:
Start out at difficulty selector, but still no difficulties other than hard.
When failing, player is teleported to fail screen with scoreboard.
Fixed bug where when moving at start, the player will fall into the horrible gas below.

10/19/10:
Neck will now flash when almost failing
Music will stop after failing
New YOU FAILED message
(hopefully) fixed bug where the guitar part gets muted
Optional prizes added
improved delay
improved note hit window
made easier to fail (more realistic to rock band, used to be that you could hit half the notes and succeed, now you have to hit at least 75%.)
Priority | What to do
Medium | Add Easy and Medium modes
Low | More stuff at the end, maybe jet pack showing the technology
Very low | Get Mm to see it

Nice, that was very impressive for lbp1. But the notes are hard for me to see If they are on the unlit side, also when you fail it just respawns you until you run out of lives. I don't know if that was supposed to happen. Please try my f4f level, link is in my sig.2010-10-17 09:27:00

Ok! I liked this level... kind of. I have never been a rock band fan, I prefer GH but this was really good. The only bad thing is that it's pretty hard to learn to switch sides. I never got high multiplier since I got confused and forgot wich side I was. Anyway it's a solid copy of rockband, 5 stars. As f4f could you check my level Marshy Dungeon of Mysteries, thank you!2010-10-17 12:32:00

Yes, it is supposed to happen. I'll get to the F4F later, when I'm at the ps3 again.

I played this an even though it still needs its tweeks I think you worked very hard on this and derserve a well apreication here. Its all about the xperience and you gave a good solid gitar her experience on LBP 1. I gave it a 5/5. Its not perfect but I rate by experience level and hard work. F4F SERENITY. Heya I tried it and it was a steep learning curve, really need to add easier options but it's not a very long song so slowing it down further might not be much use for play time. Haven't played Rockband or any other game like it but it seemed decent. As you said it's lbp1, didn't feel 100% accurate but it was a great attempt. I got the hand of it in the end but my score was nowhere near yours!2010-10-22 04:55:00

Huge Switchfoot fan here!

It was good... and I bet it'll be great once you get the direct control seat of LBP2!

Good one Ryhas. I know what you mean when I beta tested LBP2. Anyways, that was an interesting level. The button mashing gameplay is ingenious and it's exactly like "Guitar Hero" and "Rock Band". The usage of the buttons is not accurate, but maybe it's just me because the highest difficult I could get to in guitar games is medium. Overall, that was an clever level and I would like to see this kind of level in LBP2. 4 stars.

Hey I played your level. I've never played Rock Band but the mechanics in your must have taken a long time to get right. I love the whole idea and concept behind it to make it work in a 2D side scroilling game sauch as LBP but I must admit, it was too hard for me. Maybe I need to play the reali thing to get good first.

Please check out my level "Resident Raytech" as soon as you get the time to. It is a mysterious high tech facility of unknown origins which you must navigate your way out of. My aim was to create one truley unique looking level with technically unique mechanics and contraptions that have not been seen before in LBP. I focussed hard on creating an an all round and balanced level that appeals to the tech heads and the casual, the pro's and the noobs alike so there is truley something for everyone. I hope you enjoy. Please leave me some feedback aswell. Thank you.
