Welcome, Come one, Come all. I just wanna start a discussion thread on the people chosen for Beta. I know I shouldn't hate on the Judgement on SCE and Mm and what else that are giving out those codes, but I kinda find it ridiculous that they're looking for a certain "mix" of contributors, DLC owners and PS+ members for the NA. The selection just feels random. I've got friends barely owning any DLC's, no PS+ and getting in. I've got a friend whos had like 10 plays on their levels and all that person ever really does is buy Costumes. The Probable only Level pack i've that person own was The "Pirates" pack. ...Gosh I feel like such a whiner... Now here comes the part where I talk about myself going on with the "I have this and that and this and that and why don't I get it?" I own like a humongous majority of DLCs. I owned and played this game since it's release. Some of my friends only started playing in July Believe it or not. Seeing my Friends list while i'm in my Pod empty while everyones having a blast at LBP2 Beta with positive profile comments is such a Turn-off from me wanting to play the original. It gives me the paranoia of someone looking at me alone in an empty level sending me messages at why I didn't get in the Beta or Why i'm not in the Beta yet. Some of my friends are actually mad at Mm for not sending me a code. But are they really? No. Dude They're having a blast. Now am I alone here? I know whenever a non-Beta participant Sees someone in it. They get their stomachs to drop and they literally get turned-off from playing LBP altogether. Is this because i'm Different in a way? Is it because i'm...Canadian? Well no. There are Canadian Beta participants. I feel even worse having one of the seven deadly sins pressing on my back, which is envy itself. Well time to party on LBP1... Alone. While everyones on 2.. I feel like that kid whos inside doing homework on a sunny day while everyones outside but him. I'm just one of those whiners right?

Same as you. I have 99% of all the PDLC (I've bought it all except 2 things and the 4th marvel costumes) am a PS+ for a about 5 weeks now. I don't think I am better or deserve it more than anyone who got in of course but I think its a bit strange that I didn't (yet) since I have all the things they chose it for and some people only have some of the things. Me hopes nobody is offended by that. Still, people can record more levels to youtube for you to watch. They are angry you didn't get in cause they can't play with you! I'm not being patronizing either, they really do want to play LBP2 with you.

Yes! So i'm not the only one who finds it strangely strange not getting codes. I'm so confuzzled why they would do a "mix" and not a selection. The word mix even feels like they put a bunch of PSNs on a dart board, Blindfolded and started throwing darts. Hopefully when more participants are added. We who have posted here, Get a code. I hope for that to happen.

I feel the same. Y'know what's worse? Being there on day ONE for the water beta, waiting weeks and not getting anything. Making sure my email was legit and everything. Seeing nothing but the scant few video leaks, wondering if my email was just lost.. then the whole water pack finally came to use in december. I was hoping at least now I'd be able to help out. :/ I see all the beta vids now and I think to myself "well, that's nice, but I want to see what I could make with it." I've aced everything.. spent hours helping out others to ace (I remember camping at entrances for 4x).. got most dlc that wasn't costumes (didn't care much for them).. goofed around a lot.. I don't know, I just feel like this beta should've been like the first LBP beta. Big. Really big. But orderly. But this one just feels messy and overcautious. By doing a blind selection, it's leaving out the talented ones who aren't constant players/buyers. The casual tinkerers. y'know what I'm sayin'?

It's all in your head, really. I was so looking forward to the beta, played it for about 3 days, and never play it anymore. It's not that I don't like it, well, I expected more, but I just don't go on it anymore. One of the reasons may be that awfully long update...

The beta is very laggy, buggy, unrefined, and you get very little to play...it's nothing like a whole game would be, which I'm sure, will be amazing.

I know it's disappointing. I can relate, since I've seen people brag and talk about the water and online create betas. Whining doesn't make anything better. Look on the bright side: there are tons of videos for you to look at, plenty of beta members who will be glad to answer questions, and the lift on the NDA is wonderful news for everyone. Was the selection fair? In my opinion, for the most part. What were the criteria? There's still no solid proof, but activity and DLC purchases seem to be important. Will participants be chosen who meet only one criteria or the other, or a little bit of each, or none at all? Yes, probably, and possibly. Overall, it could have been much worse. The water beta was just a sign-up where they seemed to pick potential applicants at random. The LBP2 beta could have been equally random, based off PS+ membership, based on creative ability, or even based on hearts, but activity and DLC generally translate to a love of the game. Many of LBP's biggest fans were chosen. In all honesty, the beta isn't as fun as I might think people would expect. It's nothing bad enough to rip me away from playing it, but the amount of bugs almost makes you think your PS3 has a virus. Like War said, I can't wait for the full game!

Your right I went to visit Mm (this is joke) and they where throwing darts and at the top it said "Beta Guys" My PSN got hit and then that Sony guy being a bad sport took the dart of my PSN and put it on my friends... WHY!?

For me, the biggest problem of not being on the beta isn't not being able to play it, but not being able to play with your friends that got the beta. 50% of my friends got the beta, 25% aren't active or don't play any of my games.

I was very sad and angry that I didn't get in beta but then I burped and the feeling flew away. Well, at least we're all together ay? I mean, at least we're playing a full game. Smile guys<3

Lol the statement is invalid. I play LBP and nothing but LBP. My friends would literally ask mewhat games I would play, I would have like 4 titles on my shelf believe it or not. I've been playing LBP nonstop, it's crazy. I know how people are saying... Naww you don't want the Beta. It's all glitchy. Well I do. I kinda wanna get involved with the working force of Bug Blasting. Ugh I gotta buddy who seriously WONT stop reffering to Beta and harrasing me about it. Jeez, He keeps laughin at me that I don't have it. He deleted allllll of his levels just because he was making them for the hearts and a shot at Beta. My Gosh.. That Brought me to the boiling point.

I've played almost everyday since LBP came out (I may have an addiction), with the exception of two months. I own almost all the DLC, except for a few costumes, and I am 10 hearts away from Platinum. STILL! No beta... I just don't get why I wasn't sent an invite. Depression multiplier has reached x120

It's not like we can sit in pod with a pad of paper and a pen, and all of a sudden "AH! There's a bug!" I've played the story level "Liftoff" 15+ times as of last night just looking for errors. On topic: Over the summer, I had played LBP every day of every week, and for a large amount of hours. Yeah, it's considerably sad, but those are the people who they were looking for. In about the middle of July, I bought PS+, and I bought every DLC this game has come out with day 1. I wasn't very surprised to see the message in my inbox with the code in it. Also, don't pretend like if you got the beta, you would sit around squashing bugs. Yes, that's the main focus of the beta, but I'm sure you would take time off to play. Saying that you would have been a better candidate for the beta and that you would have done a better job won't get you very far. I can assure you the people that are in, or atleast the 12+ people I play with, are doing a very good job with squashing bugs. You shouldn't be very jealous. Right now, the NA beta is patchless, buggy, laggy, and barely playable. Not to mention, we CAN'T squash any bugs until we get a patch, because most of them have been squashed within this build date. Don't get stressed over it. It's a beta, and come January, you'll have a decently bug-free game thanks to the testers.

Whoooo.. wow. Finally. I can say it. I Haz beta. BUT I'm still really uneasy and upset with the monkeying around for the Codes that were sent out. I still think more people deserve to have a shot of experience at the Beta. LBP2 is kinda different from its older counterpart, ESPECIALLY with the logic. Well, This is my little update. I really hope the best now for people who wanted the beta but didn't get it. The Beta is a little broken, I really hate that Camera glitch -_____- Anyways, Trust me on this, You'll forget the Beta once the Real thing comes out... *SIIIIGGGGHHH*

I have to say I'm a bit confused about how they chose testers too. I have only one published level with a very modest amount of plays (barely over 100) and not a whole lot of DLC. I was never really all that active in LBP1, and yet somehow they saw fit to invite me. I'm sure they could have given my code to somebody more useful. Not like I'm complaining though! I'm putting more effort into what I'm doing in LBP2 than into anything I did in LBP1. I feel obligated to help out with the development in what little way I can, this being a beta and all. It's more fun to get into than LBP1 was, even if it is extremely rough around the edges at the moment. I'm afraid it's going to freeze on me in create mode one of these days.
