Ruins of the Treasure godXenonHMW
After passing the trails you find yourself transported to the world of the Treasure god. Your journey to find him begins!
Hey LBPCers,

This is a bubble combo level inspired by VelcroJones, valmassoi and a little touch of Sonic =) Its probably the easiest level I’ve made. I wanted to make sure it was accessible to all the sacks out there. There are a few slight puzzle elements but I’m sure most will be able to finish the level with ease.

Getting the high scores and building up combo’s is another story. In order to max out the points you’ll have to dig in and learn the mechanics. I hit the wall on thermo with much unfinished. But, I was able to work through most of it. I am very proud in how this turned out so I hope you enjoy it.

IF YOU GET STUCK AFTER THE FIRST RACE GATE READ BELOW
You need to jump to the flowers

:star: I have added levels for each of the main combos. The first level was all about being able to let the player choose whatever challenge the wanted to at any time. I didn't do that with this level and it has kinda bothered me. So here they are,

RotTg: Flower Vine Race
RotTg: Green Downhill
RotTg: The Loop

Tips:

Explore for secrets.
There are four major combos
Let the lauchers do the work
Here is a video showing the start of one of the combos. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1FhFshUYINk)

Thanks

Hey Xenon! Man, I'm really excited to play this.

The problem is... uh, how do you make the level... well, work? I've gotten as far as the beginning as the race gate (which isn't far) but there's nothing else to do. Is my PSP glitching out or am I missing something?

Hey Buddy!!

Congratulations on another well deserved spotlight. It was a lean couple weeks for this spotlight, so we extended the deadline until Friday. I am so glad we did. This level impressed me so much. The opening is epic. I love how every thing is so peaceful in the opening chamber, you stand in front of the obelisk, and Wham!!! The little room is beautiful. I love the way you made the ceiling and walls out of individual little pieces. And then.... blast off. I think that shot goes pretty much across the entire level, or at least most of it. Then you get launched in the air, and into that wonderfully addictive bubble chain. I bet a restarted it ten times until I got the chain in it's entirety. I loved how you wait for the music to kick in right when you get popped into the air. The music is perfect for the level. You called me an artist once, but let me tell you, I am no where near your artistic talents. This level looks great. All the materials are perfect, the stickering is wonderful, and your corner editing is spot on.

Now to the gameplay. This is the funnest level I have ever played. I have no doubt in my mind of this. It is very rare I play a level that has this many !!!!!!!! moments. And there were plenty. Your gameplay is always top notch. Every level you have made is always a joy to play. I can always tell when someone play tests a level alot, because of how well it plays, with the combos, and platforming. This level never misses a beat the whole way. I loved the emitting platforms triggered by the flowers. That was such an awesome bit of gameplay. It is amazing that you can keep the chain going like that, if you know where to jump. The sections where you have to shimmy across the gaps on the chain were killer too. You always do something in all your levels, that I have no idea how you did it. My favorite part, if there is one part that I can call my favorite, is the section where you are sliding on the green glass, and the chain keeps building if you can execute the jumps, and when I made those jumps, I was hollering like a crazy man!! And the the Sonic loop. Dude, that was incredible. Like I said, there were so many great moments.

This level is special. I think twenty years from now, this will be one of the signature levels on this game, it is that good.

You amaze me my friend!!

Congrats on the Spotlight Xenon! You never fail to impress, especially so with this one. SO fun! The high-speed lane switching and launch ramp section is by far my favorite, but the whole thing is just excellent. Nicely done! :hero:2010-10-18 03:09:00

@VJ- thanks for the thoughtful comments and review. BTW congrats on making the spotlight team! The funny part about the music was that the level was maxxed on thermo but I found out you can still add stuff through emitters.(In the future I plan to use this fact to add the LBPC logo in all its glory) Luckily I had one at the entrance to put the music on. I am happy you like the game play. Yeah, I tend to play test the crap out of my levels. I think I spent more time playing than I did in the editor. Not sure if thats good or bad... But it sure made this one of the most enjoyable levels to make for me.

@Taffy- Thanks for the kind words and the spotlight. I am thrilled to see you like the lauch ramps. Normally everything I put in levels needs to be tied to some gameplay element. But for some reason I just wanted that in there.

UPDATE: I just put a link to a video showing the start of one of the larger combos and added a few tips.

Man, Xenon, this level is a blast! So many delicious combos, so fast, so frantic- I especially liked the Sonic loop (tbh I have one of those in a prototype level on my moon, kudos for beatin' me to it ) Absolutely beautiful sticker work and great usage of materials, overall the visuals were just delightful!

And of course the gameplay was top notch. I love how you made the chain you could swing across, a stroke of genius there, for sure! (Let me guess... ultra-thin grab material just behind the chain?) The invisi-platform-flowers was novel and awesome too I'm sure I'll be coming back to this one to hunt those long bubble chains when I get a chance!

Another amazing level Xenon, I look forward to more from ya! You definitely have a refined sense of what good gameplay is.

Hey man! Yes,I'm finally here.
I have my excuse for taking so long. Many horrible things had happened in my life.I got an F on a test,my mom didn't feed me for 2 hours and I'm now dead.
Well,I better do this quick, cause everyone knows a dead person can't write a letter...it's illegal.

Were you planning to make a level with the best gameplay out there? well,it feels that way. This level is amazing! it's probably one for the history books.
This level is a blast to play! The bubble combos are insanely fun to get,but I'll have to practice some more to get my favorite which is the sliding part. That sliding part is pure awesomeness,it makes you feel good if you survive it.The flower part was such a great idea and it was pulled of nicely.Dude,I don't even want to know how many emitters you used on the level...how many did you use?

The visuals were killing me!!! Heheheh, geddit? Your choice of material selection was perfect, your sticker work was great (Not as great as mine though ) Everything in this level just works, the sounds, music, blah blah blah,etc...

I can't wait to see what you come up with next.
Hmmm,Ted and Robi 2?

Later buddy.
