So to my understanding you can collect a headset (microphone and headphones) to your PS3 and use them in LBP to talk to your friends online while your playing or creating levels. Is this true? I just need clarification so I can decide whether to buy a headset or not

If only I had a heaset. Guess I'd better save up. The headset and sackboy lipsynching will be awesome for machinima.

Oh yeah. They even support lip-synching your sackboy to your voice so it looks like he's talking when you are. EDIT: I bought a Jabra BT2010, and it works great. 2 hour charge time, 7 hour run time when talking, and it charges with the same cord a PS3 controller does!

LOL, that's what it was actually called. I didn't edit the name, bungie did name it that and would let players use it on those that are being annoying on Halo 3. I obviously know MM isn't gonna put it in LBP, just thought I'd bring it up with the issue of the consequences of voice chat.

My bet is it will look pretty cool. the only problem is people who have the mics too loud and you constantly hear them and their TV. They'll be lip-synching contantly!

LBP Actualy the technology has been around a while, though its a little under-developed (More moving mouth rather then actual lipsyncing). You can see examples of it in Games such as Rainbow six: Vegas (1 and 2) and others... But we'll see how far its advanced since then. And yeah, ryan, your right about mics with too much pick-up. The sackboys mouths will probably be moving to static and background noises

The sackboys mouths will probably be moving to static and background noises Yeah, what they need is a feature like in MGS4 where you can adjust the Volume of the input, the volume of the mic output, but most importantly the mic sensitivity. This isn't in call of duty 4 and it's very annoying!

The Playstation Eye is obviously being promoted through LittleBigPlanet, but any webcam will do. On a side note, I need a DualShock 3 controller so I can play local multiplayer. My whole family will want to try this game.

I wish I knew. I am happy with mine(Jabra BT2010) but I've never used a wired headset with the PS3, so I can't compare. I'd recommend mine if you want to save money and you want a good Bluetooth headset though. It only takes 2 hours to charge and it runs for seven full hours while talking. I didn't find it to be uncomfortable, but I can't say how it will be for you. It's great for the price I paid($29.99 US), though.

Gioteck make a really good wireless one, or else I guess USB is cool because it needs no charging.. (and they usualy cover both ears) Really its up to you
